Katherine never asked to be kidnapped when she was 8 years old. She never wanted to be experimented on like a lab rat for 7 years and escape with strange, mutant powers. She never hoped for her genetics to be twisted so she had control over nature and could mold her body into any living creature imaginable. And she certainly wasn't expecting to live on the streets of Sokovia for over 16 years until Ultron decided to destroy all of humanity, starting with the European city. And she hadn't planned for the insane animatronic to make the place levitate, forcing Kit to fight against Ultron for the innocent people because she just had to be brave. But of course, life can be a b*tch.

As the city came crashing down, Katherine knew she had to do something and fight the metal menace terrorizing her (sort of) home. Letting out a frustrated sigh, Kit ran down the cracked streets toward the sounds of battle. Clenching her fists, she summoned a curved staff of birch with a vine wrapped around the branch. She swerved around a corner to see a man in a blue, red, and white bodysuit standing defiantly before Ultron, a shield clutched in one hand. "You will not win this fight alone, Captain America," the metal beast threatened and Kit stepped forward beside the man with the shield. "Lucky I'm here, then," she said, holding the staff like a sword and taking an aggressive stance. Ultron scoffed and flew away quickly as a group of his minions swarmed toward the two humans. "Who are you?" the man apparently named 'Captain America' asked her, ducking under a foe's punch and bashing its head with his shield, and Kit replied, "Just your average Brooklyn girl who can become a dragon." She tossed her staff to the Captain, who used it to defeat a few more foes, then watched his eyes widening as the woman quickly transformed into a huge blue dragon. The dragon/former woman roared and proceeded to breath fire at and destroy enemies at an amazingly fast rate. "Hey Capsicle, where'd you get the dragon?!" shouted a red and gold metal suit flying above Kit-the-dragon's head, presumably with a human inside. "There was a lady, and the there was a dragon, just go with it, she's fighting for us!" Captain America shouted back and a man on top of a building, shooting down foes with a bow and arrows, called out, "Yeah, that's a dragon all right! Hey! Smaug the dragon!" Kit rolled her eyes (or would have if possible) and flew over to the man. The archer leaped onto her back and together they defeated enemies in the skies. When the citizens were being evacuated, Kit did her part, carrying innocent people to the transports (as a dragon, of course). As the flying city began to fall, she flew under it and helped the man in the red and gold metal suit push it up into space. Although, she barely made it far enough into the outer hemisphere to push the city and fainting immediately afterwords, transforming back into her real, human form (fully clothed) as she fell. Kit was invited to join the team of heroes whom she had helped to save the world (after regaining consciousness onboard the SHIELD Helicarrier), but declined. She only asked instead for the money to buy a house somewhere safe and help finding a steady job, which SHIELD agreed to.

3 years later, Katherine lived in New Hampshire in a comfortable apartment complex and worked for a company that designed digital art and websites for USA business owners. She had kept in touch with Steve Rogers, the 'Capsicle' she'd met first out of all the Avengers, throughout the years, and he was the only one on the team to know her exact location. Kit had been following the Accords on TV and strongly disagreed with the men who basically wanted to command the Avengers' every move.

One morning, Katherine was called by Steve. He wanted her to go to the new SHIELD headquarters (the previous one had been destroyed by the HYDRA infiltration) for an interrogation of a man called James Barnes, and he wanted Kit to be there for 'moral support' AKA 'help me bust me and my friend out of here and hide us'. Steve subtly mentioned that he and 'Bucky' were friends during the 1940s and Barnes had been mind-controlled by HYDRA and kept alive for years and years, somehow surviving to the 21st century, like Steve had. Barnes was a wanted fugitive from SHIELD and he and Steve had been caught and apprehended when Cap tried to help him escape. So, of course, she went to the interrogation and sat with Steve in the 'prisoners' room (although she wasn't considered a criminal), watching the screens through the glass and muttering, "I don't trust that interrogator..." Only moments later, the feed blacked out and Kit immediately leaped up, summoning two double-bladed silver daggers and her trademark war helmet. She then busted open the locked door and dashed to the scene with Steve. Barnes was already gone and loud noises were heard from the hall to their right. After fighting and catching the mind-controlled man, Steve, Kit, and Sam Wilson (Falcon) brought him to a secret place. Also they evaded the authorities, making the 3 wanted fugitives along with Barnes. After Bucky, as Steve called him, woke up and Steve confirmed him back in his normal, non-murderous mental state, the group planned where to go from there...
