The boy say on the edge of his bed, waiting for his story. Every night for the last two years his grandfather would tell him the story of the history of the 7 galaxies, and they had left off at a good part. Last week he had heard of the creation of the seven rings and the seven wars. He was interested to what would happen next.
His grandfather entered the room, hand clasped behind his back and a smile on his face.
For an older guy he was still handsome, with rugged good looks.Muscles prominent, mostly black hair with some gray in the mix, powerful sea salted caramel eyes and an no nonsense attitude. He looked to be in his forties, but he was in mid 60s and somehow had accustomed his body to serve him or found the fountain of youth a bit too late.
He began his story, his voice low, and husky. Strong and graceful as he recited each word.
"They learned it when they were young," he said. "every person, and every being. Seven galaxies, seven rings. Mind, Passion, Power, Speed, Time, Magic, and Death, the powers of the universe. Each ring lying in the center of each galaxy. Many wars were fought, many lives lost, yet the rings remain. So a great peace ensued.
"A young lad, by the name Eli, hailing from Topora, a small rural society on a Biotic planet 279 of the 5th galaxy, was determined to screw this up. His companions include a small dog with brownish blonde fur, and soft caramel eyes, a beautiful 5'11" muscle bond young woman who doesn't take crap from no one, and a Xethian princess who does exactly nothing relevant to the story, should I continue...." The young boy nods, excited about this new story and the new people.
"Biotic Planet 279, was a small planet almost empty, it population 509 million, at the time at least. It was still recovering from the primitive nuclear warfare I told you about 6 weeks ago. Currently, trade was hard and the planet was consider a fueling port for space travelers. Young Eli had watched many men and women travel in their spaceships, leave this lonely planet. He wanted to go himself, but he didn't have the type of money to go and buy space transport or use space transit. Back then it was really expensive."
"How expensive grandpa?" The boy asked.
"A Xethian princess worth, and trust me their expensive." The man chuckled, remembering the story.
"So what happened?" The boy asked.
"Eli was at the market place trying to trade honey for milk, when he runs into, Emily. Her arms were rippling with muscle from her time training to be part of the Xethian army. She wasn't a princess, just your run of the mill traveler stopping by to get fuel and gummy bears. Even after nuclear destruction the classic Haribo bears survived. Anyway, she was not in the mood, she picked up young Eli and set him out of her way. 'Are you from Xethe?' Eli asks. 'Why is it to you?' She answered. When Eli didn't respond she began to walk away. She purchased her gummy bears and boarded her ship, with an unknown fugitive," The man finishes.
"Grandpa, tell me more," the boy states.
"Eh, isn't it time for you to get some rest junior? Plus, I have to check on your grandmother," he replies.
"I thought you said grandma was enough to take out the Xethian or Boreagan empire," the boy answers.
"Let's just say we both have a nasty habit of getting into trouble," The man chuckles, before turning out the lights and walking away.
Though the boy couldn't sleep, he wanted know more about this Eli and his travels. He wanted conquer planets for Xethe, find the seven rings, try these exotic gummy bears he kept hearing about. He wanted to be the hero, the villain, and the princess. Well, maybe not the princess considering how she wasn't relevant to the story, but still he wanted to explore...Maybe when he was older. Yes, when he was strong like grandpa and grandma.
