John B has a small group of friends which consists of six individuals, including himself. Those individuals include, JJ, the boy he's known since the third grade. Who always flirts with Sage. JJ calls her Sagie. Pope, the boy who's obsessed with becoming a coroner and doesn't let anyone forget that he could get a scholarship for it. Kiara, Kie, one of the coolest girls you'll ever meet. Daisy, who John B has a crush on but wouldn't admit to because of the pogue on pogue rule. This brings us to our last two individuals. Sage and Daisy. Daisy's full name is Koa Daize Layne. Her middle name sounds like Daisy so John B started calling her that. And the name kinda stuck. Sage's full name is Maya Sage Ripley. JJ always teases her about sharing the same last name as Ellen Ripley, the female protagonist from the Alien movie franchise. Only her parents call her Maya. Daisy and Sage grew up living next door to one another and were inseparable. Much like Kiara, they live amongst the kooks but hang out with pogues. They consider themselves pogues rather than kooks. They're also really good at surfing, John B would say they're almost as good as JJ. Well, Daisy is anyway. Daisy is a free spirited surfer girl who has no idea John B is crushing on her. And Sage is your curly haired surfer girl who playfully flirts with the boy who loves her the most, JJ.
