To trial this system, Saionji is holding a Riding Duel tournament, and asks Mikazuchi-sensei to draft in some additional candidates via his connections. He chooses two 1st Year students from GEN Academy: Minamoto Kumi, a racing prodigy from A Class who has a decorated history of repeated wins in the F4 Championship, and Takanori, who has never driven a car in his life before. To make sure he can participate, Minamoto must teach Takanori how to drive, and the pair head up to Gunma, along with Shigaisoshi Namie, to complete a hellish training course. At the same time, Anjou Nozomi has been tasked by Mikazuchi-sensei with coaching Takanori in the Premium format as part of his preparation due to its reintroduction.
