The Botterills were an anomaly. Even among the 41 other children spontaneously born at once - what were the chances the two would be cousins? You could call it fate, if you believed in that. Neither of them do, of course. Though Jess considered it incredibly luck. If not for her aunt, she likely would have ended up in the foster care. Or even worse; in the hands of Sir Reginald Hargreeves. Yet the Hargreeves continued to find their way into their lives. In more ways than one. Ciana Hargreeves had been famous since she was thirteen. A member (a former member? That was her family, could it ever be former?) of the Umbrella Academy, it was the kind of fame that you can never escape. The kind that was baked into her childhood; baked into her very essence. Ciana could never escape it. Maybe that's why she never tried. Maybe that's why she didn't even leave the city she was raised in.
