Then magic invades her simple life, and everything she knows is turned upside down. She's suddenly the center of a war between dragons and humans, and the only person she can turn to for help is a stranger who may or may not be the enemy.Char and his brother Rath are dragons and certified troublemakers. They're a favorite at parties, especially among girls, and a pain in their commanding officer's side. But Char's familiarity with humans earns him a scouting mission that brings with it more trouble than he could ever anticipate: a simple orphan girl. All images come from the game, and I've also included some dialogue from the prologue and Chevalier's romantic ending where Belle chooses him as king. There is no explicit content, but themes and content are mature.This is an accompaniment to "A Dove's Tale," and it started off as a writing experiment for me to try retelling the story from a male perspective, which I'd never done before. I strongly recommend reading "A Dove's Tale" in its entirety before reading this. The current version of "A Dove's Tale," written based only on Chevalier's route, has been entered in the Amby Awards 2023. When the two meet, everything changes - for them, and for the rest of the world.I started writing this back when I was 12 years old. I wasn't a Christian then, and the story was heavily influenced by books like Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and the Dragonlance series, specifically those authored by Margaret Weiss and Tracy Hickman. Other major influences were anime shown on Toonami, Dragon Ball Z probably being chief among those. When I became a Christian, everything changed, and the story gained a whole new level of depth. It has morphed considerably over the years, but I think it's in its final form now.…

I just came back to touch this up and finally post it on Neopets (yes, I still play).
