The thing raises it's head and says in the same screechy voice, "you're playing with fire you know." I smirk back at it, "well I love to play with fire." I say as my hand erupts into a boiling ball of flames. It's on buddy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Mckayla Holbrook is eighteen. Have any of you ever checked out SciKick before? No? Well you totally should. Anyway, this is just a short story to do with one noble superhero and one evil villain. It was written so it could enter into the depths of a SciKick challenge I was previously talking . . . writing, about. Be sure to leave me a vote and tell me what you think!…

Treading Softly (One-Shot)

I see trees. Spruce perhaps? I don't know. The world's passing by in a blur. The occasional whip of a branch slapping my bare arms does nothing to slow my fast pace through the thick forest. My legs are like a pair of bike peddles. The feeling of exhaustion and lack-of-stamina seems to be immune to them. My mind and body are functioning solely on one thought and one thought only; escape. Heavy screeches of something bulky sliding after me bounces against the trunks of the trees, creating a hollow echo. Shivers race up my spine at the noise. The ghostly, high-pitched screams of my pursuer breathing, only spurs me on to go faster. Somewhere in the depths of my subconscious I remember what normal is. And I know that this is definitely not normal. The creature following me is unnatural.****************************Written for Wattpads 2015 #wattpadfright challenge.…

Dave's Seasonal Weather Anomalies (One-Shot)

It's the year 2173. A random dude named Dave Phillips had made a remarkable discovery almost two hundred years prior, leaving the world very different. A company standing tall in the city? Check (uh, duh, everyone has a building in the city). Ability to twist, manipulate and switch the weather around? Check (okay that's a little weird). A portal leading to a parallel universe? Check (uh . . . ?). A lobby full of possible clients? Check (huh? That ain't no science fiction). Only one name for a place like that: Dave's Seasonal Weather Anomalies.~*~*~*~Please note that this was written for a sci-fi competition (Massive Dynamic to be specific) so that's why it's really short. Still, all votes and comments are much appreciated.…

Billies Seasonal Weather Anomalies

It's 2174, and Phillip Johnson is living in a world very different to the one we're all so familiar with today. All weather, seasons and daylight are controlled through one company: Billies Seasonal Weather Anomalies. To Phillip, it's the place he gives the names: power, money and work. He certainly didn't expect it to be a place where he could also give the titles: bankrupt, liars and criminals. One promotion allows Phillip to be in on a very dangerous secret. One containing the knowledge that his universe may not be the only one out there. And that Billy dude? He may not actually be dead. He might just be planning the burglary of the millennia instead. However, new threats bring in new allies. Some more unexpected than others. New threats also bring in tough decisions. Like deciding who's side you're on, for example. Or what you're supposed to order when the lunch menu is quite a bit bigger then the one on your planet. But Phillip better make his mind up soon, because time's running out.~~~~~~~~~Quick note for some people, this book was written after I wrote the short story: Dave's Seasonal Weather Anomalies. It's basically the same idea but bigger and a bit more advanced. You don't have to read that before this. Apart from that, enjoy, and be sure to leave me a vote with a few words of what you think!…
