Author's Note: Seventeen, arose out of a desire to clearly explain all of the experiences I had in high school. My time in high school has not been perfect, I have had highs and lows. Lows that pushed me to think about myself differently, lows that pushed against my biases, my comfort level, my everything. What makes Seventeen special is that I finally came away feeling like I could talk about my experiences, not just complaining about them, but speaking about them in a reflective and productive way. A way to inspire new growth, a way to heal, a way to teach, and a way to learn to laugh again.
