Black Mist didn't know how long he spent in that tree, listening for all traces of the townfolk to be gone. It was a hugerelief when he heard the heavy breathing of everyone in their home.

He didn't know how he would do with his foot, though. Without it, he wasn't able to take off. He would have to think up another way that did don't require exerting his ankle.

Black Mist looked up at the branches, then he got an ingenious idea!

I'll just swing on those branches, and I'll be able tol aunch myself far enough into the sky to fly! It just might work.

He reached up to the branch above him and took hold firmly. He hauled himself up, struggling somewhat. He promised himself at that time that he would improve his arm strength for times like these.

When he was finally dangling, he swung his legs to propel himself back and forth, back and forth. His ankle was hurting him some, but not as much as walking on it.

Soon, he launched himself into the air, struggling to make himself fly. Once in the air, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Damn...that was close..." Black Mist mumbled. "One more moment on the ground and I would have been dead..."

He sighed and made his way back to his town, where he was sure he wouldn't really get a warm welcome, but whatever. It would be nice.

A mighty roar made the ground shudder and shake. Black Mist stopped in midair and looked around frantically. Hunters!? Right now!?!?!

Black Mist zipped through the sky, not allowing whatever was there to catch up. He didn't care if it was just Darklings, he would get away!

He bumped into something since he wasn't looking ahead of himself. It was huge, scaly, a dark purple...

Darkpurple!?

That could mean only one thing.

Hunter!!!

Black Mist backed up and sped to the side. That Hunter roared and pursued his little bit of food, opening his jaws and getting ready to roast him then and there.

Black Mist senses the change in the air and picked up his speed like prey running from his predator. He zig-zagged quickly, hoping to confuse his pursuer. Sadly, this did little to get the Hunter off his tail.

He growled. How!? How do I get him away!?He racked his brains for something, anything, to get this Hunter away.

Suddenly, a voice rang out. "Moon Barrier!"
