Landon's POV-

I had arrived at school late so I went straight to my class, at least I didn't have to deal with anyone, the halls were clear. i had to get Nessa food so I'm going back to the hospital while on my lunch break.

I still can't get over the fact that Nessa attempted to overdose, and i'm sure it was ongoing before she tried suicide. I couldn't even realize, am I that bad of a brother, all of those pills were prescribed to her years ago. If only i'd cared to notice or check on her.

"baker" the principal said, snapping me out of my daze. "Landon, why aren't you in class?" she asked, a stern gaze on me.

wait, I was still in the hallway?

"Sorry, I'm going now" I quickly answered, and started walking to my class.

Jaden's POV-

I couldn't even focus. All I could think of was her. the girl i met yesterday. the girl i barely knew yet she was on my mind 24/7. I could hardly sleep at night, the guilt sat by me, ready to follow wherever i went.

I can't let her go, I can't just see her at her lowest and just leave until she's stable.

no matter how stubborn or how much she fights my help, i'll be there. it's my unspoken promise, to her and myself.

"mr. hossler!" my teacher exclaimed, snapping me out of my head of thoughts.

"huh?" I questioned, not having a single clue on what was going on.

"Well, i was asking if you could answer this question on the board but it seems like you're too busy fantasizing" she stated with a glare.

I had no idea what the class was talking about, nor what question the teacher had. I looked at the board. while Everyone had they're eyes on me.

"uhm, o-one thousand...seven hundred and 53" I hesitantly answered, getting an amused look from miss glenon.

"That is correct, but try to keep focus Hossler" the teacher said, walking away and sitting on her desk.

coopers pov-

It was lunch time. Jaden and I planned to go to the hospital to see Nessa again.

we're currently at a lunch place ordering for all of us.

"Does it have chinese here?" Jaden asked.

"yes of course because steak houses serve chinese" i mocked.

"what dude, It could," he shrugged.

"I'll order for ness," I said.

He nodded as the waiter approached us.

"Cheesy mashed potatoes, beans, steak, and rice, two of those, take out please " I said, my eyes scanning the menu.

"Make that four, for Landon," Jaden added.

"Who's paying?" I glared at him.

"I will," he shrugged, and pulled out his wallet.

I nodded as we waited for our food.

we got it a little while after so we were now on our way to the hospital.

landons pov

I left school late, i didn't want to but people were talking to me and i also got called to the principal's office.

I knew I was going to arrive at the hospital late but I still had to get nessa food. the nearest place was this salad right around the corner of school.

that's where i went, i had to hurry up because we only get an hour and a half timed lunch break.

i should've gotten chipotle. does nessa even eat salad from anywhere else? You know what change of plans, i'm going to chipotle.

i quickly left and went to chipotle. i promptly ordered for both nessa and i and started to drive to the hospital .

jadens pov-

cooper and i were now walking in to the hospital from the parking lot.

"do you remember her room number or do we have to ask those rude nurses at the reception table?" cooper questioned.

"coop" megan said walking inside with food in her hand.

"jaden" kelz walked in behind her.

"Thank God you already bought food" cooper said.

"are you guys going to nessas room right now?" colson asked.

"if you remember what her room number is" i joked.

"follow us" megan stated supposedly leading us to nessas room.

we had passed the reception table and just stated nessa barrett to let them know. those nurses are so rude and for what?

Nessa's POV-

I was losing it, a tiny room, a small bed. I was sweating for God's sake. Someone needs to turn on the ac.

I'm dying. I need something to do. Mom took my phone. God. Is Landon coming soon? I'm bored. Can I go on a walk? I look ugly in this hospital gown.

"Mom" I yelled flipping to the next side. It felt like I was trapped. caged like a wild animal needing to be protected.

Just as i said that mom, dad, jaden and coop walked into my room.

"turn on the ac right now" i demanded.

"okay okay miss feisty, what's wrong with you" cooper questioned.

"i'm dying, you know i always wanted a short and nonsuffering death, not this!" she exclaimed.

"someone give me a phone, it could be a toy one i don't care i need a phone" i cried, i didn't care if i was being a dramatic bitch. i was bored out of my mind.

jaden put his phone password in and gave it to me. i just rolled my eyes and started opening random apps.

"i wanted something to do with my hands that's all" i added.

mom gave me my phone and sat down with dad in a corner of the room eating.

"eat with your hands" jaden said taking his phone and giving me a box of food.

jadens pov-

she looked at us, she looked like she was either about to laugh or throw a tantrum. God the Bakers are the hardest people to read.

coopers pov-

this is odd for nessa, she's acting like she was in a mental facility, unable to do anything. it's weird, she'd hate rehab.

"hey at least your not in rehab," i shrugged.

everyone in the room looked at me.

"moving on?" colson suggested.

"fuck you jaden for not leaving me to die in the back of your fucking car" nessa flipped him off.

"if he let that happen he'd be dead in the back of your parents car" i chuckled putting sauce on my mashed potatoes.

everyone was glaring at me.

"it's true" i continued.

landon walked in.

"thanks for showing up love" megan sarcastically said.

"hey aren't you that kid you got called to the principals office?!" i said brightly.

"you're an evil one aren't you" landon stated

"what'd you do this time?" colson asked.

"I just went to school late" he shrugged while sitting down. "You already have lunch?!" he exclaimed.

Nessa nodded. "Does anyone want free lunch, because I bought lunch for someone named Nessa, Who didn't even bother to tell me she was getting lunch" he blabbed.

She just flipped him off. "i didn't know either" she said, glaring at him.

jadens pov

i watched as everyone talked. i watched as nessa lightly smiled at cooper's jokes.

how could someone so broken, manage to have a smile so bright. she was driven to the edge of a cliff, yet was able to build herself back up like it was nothing.

but i knew, behind that smile, peeked the depths of hell. agony and torture she's hid inside. guns of broken glass, ready to shoot whenever she chose to.

i admired her. she was able to hide the biggest scars, and remained perfect amidst her raw wounds.

i didn't know where this would lead to from now on, but one thing was for sure. i'll 'be here tomorrow. and the day after, and again, until she'd trusted me enough to let me in.

Sad note

Bree is going back to school TOMORROW, and this might be the last chapter for like a DECADE. Sadly.

Bree is leaving all of us, only leaving this chapter. Just kidding im being dramatic.She is going to school fr. Idk if she'll leave us tho.

I believe that education is important, for everyone but me jkjk, unless. But ilhsm and wish her the least of luck in school.
