Doctor John Smith stood at the glass tube, looking at his developing experiment. He was a tall man with brown, fluffy hair, brown eyes, and a well-developed face. To those who didn't know him, he seemed more like a serious man. In reality, he was a fun person who loved to mess around. He touched the glass and started stroking it lovingly. This one was going to be born on Summer Solstice, the beginning of Summer, which was tomorrow. Well, he hoped that it was going to emerge by then. There was the possible chance of it dying.

"Soon, you'll be ready," John told it. "It won't be long until you wake up."

"You're still with it?" Doctor Michelle Sams, John's partner, asked. "Honestly, when are you going to get over it? Just like your other experiments, it might not survive."

John turned to his partner. "No, this one will survive. I know it will," he said despite his doubt. He turned back to the being in the tube. "I know it will. I just have a feeling. A good feeling."

Michelle rolled her eyes, but she was smiling, too. "Okay, I'll leave you to this. Just don't be discouraged if it dies. It always happens."

"Oh, don't worry, Michelle. This one will live."

Michelle turned to leave. "It's lunch break. Do you want me to bring your lunch again?"

John nodded. "I plan on staying here until it emerges. It's almost fully developed. Look." He gestured at the pale blue experiment. Well, what could be seen of it through the green liquid. It looked like it was thirteen, except for the fact that it didn't look human. Its body parts had already grown a long time ago. "This is a good sign of its health. Its body is already fully developed. All it needs to do is wake up."

Michelle rolled her eyes again. "Well, I'll be back with your lunch. Good luck with getting it to survive," she said with support.

"Thanks." John smiled. He turned back to his tube and watched the heart monitor beat a strong and steady beat.
