Eileen took the next day off, letting her body rest after the slight panic she cause for the few minutes she was out. Demetri stayed with her, trying to learn everything he could about tachycardia. He got so overworked about learning it that he fell asleep in her bean bag chair.

Eileen had gotten up early and was eager to go back to Miyagi Do when she noticed the boy. She grabbed a blanket and laid it on him before changing into her workout gear.

"Morning, sunshine," Kelli called before she noticed Demetri sprawled on the bean bag. Eileen walked out of the bathroom when her mom gave her a pointed look.

"Why is Demetri sprawled on the bean bag?" She asked, pointing to the very obvious pull-out bed she had made for him to sleep on in the living room.

"He fell asleep here, I didn't want to wake him," Eileen shrugged, grabbing her bag to pack her snack bag for Miyagi Do. Kelli nodded before giving the girl a knowing look before walking away.

"Hey Tri—"

"You should avoid Alcohol, caffeine in coffee, chocolate, and some sodas and teas!" Demetri announced, waking up startled.

Eileen nodded, "Good to know. You want breakfast?" Demetri nodded to her question and they went on to have breakfast before Kelli told them that they needed to get a move on for practice.

"Can we use the new transportation device?" Eileen asked with a slight grin on her face. Samuel made the same face back before they rushed to the garage, Demetri cluelessly following after them.

"Oh no," He muttered, looking at the golf cart that Samuel and Eileen had gotten together. The older man gave her the keys before she rushed to the driver's seat shouting at Demetri to hurry up.

After a very stressful ride with Eileen driving the golf cart, they made it to practice, where they got pretty exhausted pretty quick.

"Oh God, it's so hot out. I'm sweating in places I didn't know I had pores," Demetri said lit loud, rubbing his sweat onto Sam before leaning his head on Eileen.

Eileen looked at Daniel, who seemed to be a little shaken up, which gave her worry. She didn't want him to be nervous or stressed about anything karate-related, this was supposed to be a fun thing to do.

"Alright, guys, get out from under that tree. It's time to get to work," Daniel announced, making everyone groan. Sam got up before helping Eileen up. Demetri lifted his hands to each of the girls so they both yanked him forward. Demetri almost fell back down, but at least he was standing.

"This heatwave is a gift. Today you are going to experience Shochu-Geiko," Daniel told the group. Eileen and Sam gave each other a look, confused about what that was.

"Like the car insurance?" Chris asked which made Eileen look at him. They stared before laughing, not being able to hold each other's stare.

"Shochu-Geiko is a Japanese exercise where you train during the hottest days of the year. It's about pushing yourself to your limit. The fight isn't always going to come when it's 75 degrees and windy," Daniel explained.

Eileen gently kicked the dirt, "Damn. Could've used that car insurance for the golf cart."

"Aren't we supposed to avoid fighting?" Sam asked, ignoring Eileen's comment. She watched Daniel sigh as his body language shifted.

"Sometimes you can't. Someday, the fight may come to you. And I wanna make sure you're ready. So today, we're gonna see what Miyagi Do is made of," Daniel announced.

Soon, Daniel, had them doing specific moves on the person in the middle, who is attempting to block the moves. Currently, Robby, who had his shirt off, was in the middle.

"I don't want to be called to the middle," Demetri whispered to Eileen, watching Robby shove their friend to the ground.

"It's not too bad," Eileen whispered back before she looked worriedly at the boy. He gave a thumbs up to Eileen, letting her take a breath as Sam kicked Robby.

"All right! Demetri's turn. Demetri, get in there," Daniel announced. Demetri groaned as Eileen gave him a small cheer before he was in the center.

"Three!" Chris went up and punched him in the gut. Eileen bit her lip as she tried to not help him.

"Six!" The boy swept his leg, causing Demetri to hit the ground. Eileen put her head on Robby's shoulder, having no intent to keep watching him get hurt. Robby patted her back in condolence.

"Can we please take a break? This heat is brutal," Sam asked her father as he stepped down to the circle. Demetri fumbled over to Eileen, wrapping his arm around her neck.

"You guys want to cool off?" He asked. They all nodded their heads rather fast. Daniel smirked "all right. I think I can accommodate that." Soon the group found themselves in a freezer.

"So you couldn't take the heat of Shochu-Geiko, perhaps you'll find Kangeiko more appeasing." Daniel watched the group with a sly smile.

"Did I say I wanted to cool off? I don't think I did," Eileen said shakily as she tried to keep herself as warm as she could as she and Demetri snuggled themselves together to try and stay warm.

"Look around, what do you see?" Daniel asked the group.

"Frozen London broil," Chris replied.

"No, not the meat, look past that. I see the exhalation of breath. The twitch of a muscle. The shift of a stance. If you lean into the cold, it will heighten your senses. And then you'll anticipate the moment before your opponent strikes. And you'll always be ready," the older man explained.

His phone started to vibrate, but he declined the call and told everyone just to circle up. Sam was now in the center, blocking punches from Chris before Daniel called out Robby's number. Robby threw kicks and punches but Sam blocked every attack until she had his hands in her own.

"All right let's get Demetri in there!" Daniel declared.

"All right here goes nothing... Literally," Demetri muttered. Eileen gave him an encouraging smile before Daniel announced the first number.

"Six!" Eileen frowned before she kicked Demetri in the gut. He didn't block it yet again, causing him to be in pain.

"C'mon Demetri. Look for the signs. Anticipate, come on. You can do this!" Daniel encouraged the boy.

"Oh, you come on! Give me a second," Demetri groaned. Eileen went to him and rubbed his back before he was ready to start expressing himself to Daniel.

"I can't do it, Mr. Larusso. Between the cold, and the shouting, and the hole in my sock... I'm not sure when that happened, but it's really uncomfortable," He said as he hopped on one foot to find the hole.

"Demetri, you are one of the most neurotic people I know. You always expect the worse," Daniel explained, walking into the circle, clearly starting a big speech.

"Very true. Demetri thought I was going to crash a golf cart on the way here," Eileen chimed in.

"You were going way too fast and almost off the road a couple of times!" Demetri defended.

"Anyways," Daniel interrupted, "You can use that to your advantage. It means you anticipate. Think of it like a spidey sense."

"Actually in the comics, they refer to it as a spider-sense," Demetri corrected.

"He's more of a DC comic kind of fellow," Eileen added with the nod of his head in confirmation.

"It's not about who's fastest or who's, strongest, this is about instinct. It's about using what's in here," Daniel explained to him, pointing at his head. Demetri nodded hesitantly, making Daniel grin widely and let the practice continue. Eileen bit her lip in anxiousness as she watched the boy.

"Two!" Daniel yelled. Chris went to punch Demetri but, the boy noticed in the corner of his eye, and blocked his punch. Chris went to attempt to punch again, but Demetri blocked it before sending a punch his way to stop him. Eileen let a breath she didn't realize she had in her before she cheered.

"Whoo! I did it!" Demetri cheered as well before Daniel called five and was kicked in the stomach. Eileen stopped cheering and winced at him.

"Okay, that's okay, baby steps, baby steps," Daniel concluded as Demetri groaned through the pain. Everyone circled Demetri who congratulated him.

"Okay. That's all for today guys." Daniel said before walking away quickly. Eileen nodded as she helped Demetri to the golf cart, putting him in the back rather than the front so he could have more space.

"Hey, Eileen!" Chris called out. Eileen looked at him and waved him over.

"I need a ride and since we live in the same neighborhood, could you?" Chris asked.

"Of course!" Eileen nodded as she hopped into the driver's seat and patted the seat next to her. Chris smiled and walked over to the seat as Eileen turned the vehicle on.

"Hold on for dear life," Demetri warned Chris. Eileen hit the gas pedal and off they went, Demetri, complaining that she was going fast, while Eileen argued back saying that it was fine, and Chris, who was just enjoying the wind in his face.

AN: when they act like
an old married couple is
honestly one of my favorite
tropes. Plus Eileen + Chris
being besties !
