Anna wasn't a person who would worry much. She had an optimistic approach for life, she always did her best to look on a bright side of things. But on that day she was being consumed by stress. Jaskier said that besides singing the ballad, he has a very important message to tell her. And said message worried princess the most. What did the bard want to tell her? She's been thinking about it for most of the day, until it came the time to meet the troubadour in the garden at sunset. She took a deep breath and then approached the bench on which the poet was sitting.
"Hey Jaskier" she greeted him, taking a place next to him.
"My muse, you're finally here!" he was happy to see her. "I'm so glad you came".
Anna only smiled in response, which Jaskier returned. He tuned up his lute, cleared his throat and began to play a cheerful melody that was pleasant to the ear. It brought to mind a wedding song.
"Ah, who would have thought, even if he lived for so long, that in the distant kingdom of Arendelle he'd find such a belle!" the first stanza caused delicate blushes on Anna's cheeks. "Hidden in the palace by fate, a lot of talents she has to offer. Dancing, singing, warrior, in fencing she's superior! An adventure seeker, she ain't no weeper! She perfectly knows the etiquette, she doesn't waste time on nonsense!" the princess smiled, which has not escaped bard's attention. "Eyes in the color of the skies, she rarely herself flatters, the proud sound of her step, her smile scares away the darkness. Eyes in the color of the skies, she rarely herself flatters, the proud sound of her step, her smile scares away the darkness!" here Jaskier had a break to gulp, but he kept playing, while Anna was swaying to the music's rhythm. "By every poet she should be seen, a perfect muse she's for the scene! Her hair shines bright in the torch's light, but she has committed a horrific crime!" the princess gasped, scared. "It shouldn't be weird, that she's my will to live, and although she's not a sorceress, she stealed my heart with success! Thousand words in my head, escaped as if a rabbit from the claws of death, but this should not be a surprise, because by her beauty I'm mesmerized" he sang those words looking straight into the eyes of the princess. "Eyes in the color of the skies, she rarely herself flatters, the proud sound of her step, her smile scares away the darkness. Eyes in the color of the skies, she rarely herself flatters, the proud sound of her step, her smile scares away the darkness!".
He pulled the strings for the last few times and the song ended. Anna couldn't get out of her awe, and the message that Jaskier gave her through the ballad made her freeze like a sculpture. The poet took her hand and said:
"I've wanted to tell you about this earlier, but I wanted to make it a unique moment, worth remembering" he explained. "Already during our first meeting I couldn't keep my eyes off you. And then, when I got to know you better, I knew that you're the most wonderful woman I have ever met, and believe me, I'd met a lot of them. You quickly stole my heart and I am not planning on begging for giving it back. There's no force that would cause me to change my mind. I love you the most in this world".
Princess's eyes sparkled like stars on a nocturne sky. Touched by Jaskier's words, she tried to hold back tears. Jaskier watched her, worried that he did something wrong. He asked caringly:
"My dear, are you alright?".
Anna smiled a little and answered:
"Oh, Jaskier... dear Freyja, how am I supposed to put this..." she was thinking out loud. "No, I'm able to say it as beautifully as he did" she thought, shaking her head. She turned to him. "Can I do something crazy?".
"Um... yes, of course" he replied, a bit shocked.
Anna moved closer to him, embraced his face with her hands and brought their lips together in an affectionate kiss. Jaskier returned it immediately, putting his arms around princess's waist. When the kiss ended, they both smiled and touched each other with their foreheads, their eyes still closed.
"You'd also committed a "horrific crime", Jules" she addressed him by the short of his name. "You stole my heart. At the beginning I was afraid of this feeling, because if it turned out that you reciprocate it, I was worried that you'd want to use the fact that I trust you... I had such a situation once and it wasn't really pleasant" she confessed sadly, moving away her head a bit and opening her eyes. Troubadour did the same. "But, when I got to know you better, I understood that there's nothing to be afraid of. I understood that you're devoid of falsity. That... that you're a good man full of passion for what he does. I'm also not surprised that you and Geralt are friends. After all those tales you'd told during dinners... I don't know White Wolf for long, but I think that he wouldn't befriend you if you were from under the dark star. It just solidified the belief that I have nothing to fear from you. You're an amazing being... and how you love me, I love you the same".
These words caused considerable emotion in the poet. He smiled gently, tears of joy flowed down his cheeks. He leaned over the woman, and then joined their lips in another kiss full of affection. At that moment both of them were happy, as they had rid themselves of their worries about the feeling they had for each other, and their hearts were united.
