"Weems! My favorite tall person! Just the lady I was looking for." Jackson ran down the hallway to catch up with her. Weems stopped and waited for him to catch up before continuing her stroll.

"Yes, Jackson? What is it you need?" She asked. She and Jackson had a strong bond
even if it was just student and teacher. She took care of him during the school year because she knew his parents weren't at the house much. It resulted in him showing her everything he achieved.

Weems may have been just a principal to others but to Jackson, she was the best principal someone could ask for.

"Can you tell the housemaster to stop taking my waffle maker? It's an essential item of my dorm." He showed her the item, holding it with both hands.

"I said you weren't supposed to have those in dorms." She reminded him, lowering her sunglasses.

"Yes, but it doesn't harm anyone. Besides, Kent gets super hungry at 1 am and if he doesn't get something, it's everyone's problem." He explained to her, "That's why we're dormmates! I like to cook, he likes to eat!"

Weems inhaled, "I propose... because of Kent's condition, I can authorize you and you only, are allowed to have a waffle maker in your dorm. If you go around bragging, this privilege will be taken away. Do you understand?"

"Yes!" He squealed before hugging her and rushing back to his dorm. Weems smiled at him before going to where she needed to be.

Once he was in his dorm, he took off his uniform. He was changed into his jeans when the door opened, Kent and Bianca entering.

"Dude!" Jackson yelped, using his sweater to cover his chest. Bianca covered her eyes as the boy looked at him.

"What? It's not like I haven't seen your chest before." Kent shrugged. Bianca sighed in annoyance as Jackson hurriedly got his sweater on.

He cleared his throat, "It's on, Bianca. You can turn back now."

She slowly turned as Kent realized what he meant when he yelled at him.

"I'm gonna go. Also, I'm crashing with you and your group when we go to the carnival tonight and you can not stop me, Barclay!" Jackson notified her as he left the dorm. She rolled her eyes as Kent grinned.

"Where do you think you're going?" Bianca asked as she peeped her head outside the door.

"Your mom's house." He replied without hesitation.

"Fuck you, Lee." She muttered.

"Sure, as you want to." He shrugged with a grin. She flipped him off before closing the door to consult with Kent about a plan for the Edgar Allen Poe cup.

"I can't believe all you wanna do is rides." Kent huffed as he lay over the trash can.

"I can't believe you agreed to eat so many waffles before doing this, knowing I was going to do a lot of the rides," Jackson argued, handing him his water bottle that he hadn't opened yet.

"Then why did you make so many?" Kent asked him.

"Because you asked me too!" Jackson shot back.

"Enough. Let's just get Kent something fizzy for your stomach so it'll at least settle." Yoko cut in.

"They sell ginger ale at that booth, Yoko, would you mind going with me to get it?" Davina asked her. The vampire grinned and nodded as they walked to the booth, leaving both Bianca and Jackson with Kent.

"Jesus Christ," Jackson muttered to himself when he noticed a nevermore boy being pushed around by the town bullies. Bianca watched him go over there.

"Hey!" Jackson yelled at them. They stopped but grabbed the boy's backpack to make sure he didn't run anywhere.

"Can we help you? Freak." One of the boys asked.

"Ooh, how original. You know, if you keep going down this path, it's only going to become worse for you." Jackson told him, grabbing his arm, "Oh yeah, oh wow. Jeez, you messed with a vampire in the future, and then she drains all of your blood. That's how you die."

The bully pushed him away, backing away with frightened eyes, "Stay away!"

"What? You don't wanna know your future? People like you pay for shit like this but they're usually fake. Me? I'm the real shit." Jackson grinned.

"He's lying," Lucas spoke up with his arms out.

"Am I? Or did I scare you all enough so my friend could escape from your grasp." Jackson raised an eyebrow. The bully looked down to see just a backpack.

"You piece of shit!" They muttered, shoving him down.

"Hey!" They all turned to see Bianca and the others not too far behind. Jackson stood back up to stand a bit away, not too close to anyone.

"What are you gonna do about it?" One of them got close to her. Jackson removed his beanie before shoving it onto the guy's head. Jackson pushed him into the others running at them before grabbing something and throwing it.

"Split up!" Jackson yelled. Smoke appeared, but no one was able to see anything. Jackson grabbed someone's arm and pulled them towards a ride so they couldn't get caught. Once they got close to the ride, he slowed so the instructors could get them ready for the Ferris wheel.

"Kent, why is your arm so..." He trailed off when he realized it wasn't kent he grabbed, "shit."

"Mhm." Bianca nodded.

"Sorry." He apologized as they got into the compartment for the Ferris wheel. It was silent, the two looking out the window until Bianca turned to him.

"Why do you always annoy me the most?" She asked him.

"Hm. I don't know. Maybe it's because of the way you react." Jackson shrugged.

"I barely react, everyone else has bigger reactions than me. I know it's not entertaining." She shot back at him.

"Maybe it's because you're the only person I haven't been able to make a bet with." He shrugged again, looking away.

Bianca thought for a moment, "What if I did do a bet with you? And you didn't look into the future to find the outcome of it. A simple bet."

"What kind of bet are you wagering?" He asked, leaning in.

"I bet... I can hang out with you as many times as you want till the end of the semester. And I still won't like you by then." Bianca suggested.

"I can only do one bet at a time, so that would mean no more bets besides this one." Jackson thought out loud. "And this one is high stakes. What's in it for me if I win?"

"If you win..." She enunciated the if, "I will have to do all your homework for the next semester."

"That's a very big wager. And if I lose?" Jackson asked as the Ferris wheel slowly went to the ground.

"You have to leave me alone. No bothering me, no annoying me. Nothing." She fake— smiled at him.

He gave her his signature smirk, "It looks like we have a deal, Barclay. Just don't try and fall in love with me."

"Not a challenge." She put her hand out, he shook it. And the bet began.
