Jessica-Diana Purnell, or J.D for short, would like to think her life isn't particularly messy, quite simple if she said so herself. If she told that to you face to face, she'd definitely be lying. You'd probably believe her anyway, she's a very convincing liar to everyone but her twin brother, Mason.

You wouldn't notice how she plays with the earring on her right earlobe, or how her toes curl on the inside of her shoes. You wouldn't see the involuntary crinkle of her nose, or how her left hand would slip into her pocket. You would just shrug your shoulders and nod, unwillingly falling into her trap of lies.

You'd believe her when she'd tell you she's forgotten to bring a present for someone, when she actually forgot to get it in general and would have to run to the store that same day and pretend she had it all along. You'd believe her when she'd tell you that she'd lost her phone when you'd ask for her number, when it was actually sitting in the inner pocket of her unusually coloured windbreaker jacket.

But you wouldn't believe her when she would tell you that she was given supernatural powers when she went to visit her Grandfather. And the funny thing about that is, it wasn't a lie.
