**Weeks later**

[Meredith's POV]

“You’re quitting? But… You’re a pregnant woman, and not to mention on your own,” the warden said as I sat nervously in his office.

“And as a pregnant woman, I’m only thinking for what’s best for my baby. Its dangerous enough for someone who isn’t pregnant, and in my current state it’s not safe here. An assualt can happen, and I won't be able to live with myself,” I said. “I’m sorry, Warden Taylor, but I can’t continue being a CO in this facility.”

He sighed and looked at me sympathetically. “Then at least accept 9 months of a paycheck from us. We’re a government facility and we can aid you financially until you give birth to your child. It’s the least we can do. You don’t have anyone except Officer Hayes,” he said.

I gulped and nodded. “That’s too kind of you, sir, but thank you, ” I said.

“Its no bother, Miss Gonzalez. We wish you and your child good luck.”

I nodded. “Thank you. Goodbye sir,” I said.

I walked out the prison, saying goodbye to some of my ex-coworkers and stepping outside where Kendra waited.

“Well?” she asked.

“He’s offering a 9 month payment,” I said. “Its too much, but I didn’t want to argue with him.”

“At least its something, since Craig just left,” she said.

“Ronnie was right, there’s nothing to trust about him,” I said. “Craig already has a daughter, he doesn’t need another weight on his shoulders.”

“I’m really sorry, Meredith,” she said sympathetically.

“I’ll be okay, but are you sure a fake story was okay?” I asked.

“It was the only way. If we say it was Ronnie and not some one night stand from our night out, then there would be a problem,” she said. “Especially for him. And Craig could have told someone, so it was the best way to tell him you cheated on him with someone else.”

I sigh. "Are you sure you don't know anything about him?"

"I swear on my grandfather's grave, if I knew ANYTHING, i would tell you," she said.

I sighed and nodded. “Let’s just go home.I'm tired.”

She nodded as I climbed in and looked at my small baby bump, rubbing it softly.

I’m not going to give up for Ronnie or my baby.

 [Ronnie's POV]

I sat crying quietly in my cell as I gripped the key charm Meredith gave me in my hand, when my cell was opened.

“Hey, Radke, you got a visitor,” my officer said.

“Visitor? I don’t know anybody,” I said, confused.

“This guy says he knows you,” he said. “Come on.”

I got up and followed him out after he put hand cuffs on me and I wiped my tears.

I was transferred to a prison in California, Death Valley State Prison.

I miss Meredith, and just cry myself quietly to sleep every night thinking of her. At least here they sent my stuff from Nevada, so it’s not a total waste, but to me, losing Meredith was a massive loss.

I walked out and was lead to where a guy with bright blue eyes, black spiky hair, wearing a denim jacket, Poison shirt, black skinnies, and black Adidas stood.

Once he saw me, he gave me a friendly smile as I was lead to the small table in front of him.

“Thanks,” I mumbled to the cop as I sat on the chair.

He nodded and left.

“Ronnie Radke, formerly of Escape the Fate?” he asked with an accent as we shook hands.

“The one and only. Now, who are you?” I asked.

“Well, I’m a bit of a fan,” he said.

“First one to ever visit,” I chuckled half-heartedly.

“Well, my name is Jacky Casey Vincent…”
