[Meredith’s POV]

I don’t know what made me kiss him, but… I hated seeing him angry.

It felt so… amazing…

He was being gentle once he relaxed and held me carefully in his strong arms.

We kissed for who know how long before we pulled back for air and looked at each other.

“Wow…” he said.

“I’m so sorry,” I said, looking down.

“No, no, it… Its okay. Just… surprised,” he said. “And… happy.”

I looked up at him.

“The truth is… I’ve grown some feelings for you, but… You’re a corrections officer and.. I’m just an inmate,” I said.

I frowned, knowing he was right. This is forbidden. I could get in serious trouble, and his sentence could be extended.

“We don’t tell anyone,” I said.

He looked up at me.

“I mean, nobody even knows we’re friends, just that I’m your escort in some cases, and you’ve just learned to respect me a little,” I said. “It won’t be any different.”

“You mean you…” he asked.

I smiled and reached out, taking his hand. “I have feelings for you, too. I’ve just been nervous and scared and… Yeah.”

He smiled, then sighed. “This is still cheating in your part.”

I frowned nervously. “He won’t have to know.”

“But then its lying. You’ll get more hurt,” he said.

I sigh and look down.

“Do yourself the favor. Leave him,” Ronnie said.

“I’m scared,” I admitted.

I then saw his tattooed hand reach under my chin and tilt my head up.

“We all have to be brave, just like I have to while I’m here,” he said.

I gulped and nodded.

“I’m gonna try,” I said.

He smiled and leaned down as we kissed softly, and then pulled back.

I then remembered his hand na dlooked, seeing it was bloody.

“Can you move it?” I asked.

He tried to, then winced a bit.

“Let’s get you to the infirmary to get it looked at.

“And what do I tell them? I punched a wall out of anger?” he asked.

“Well, it DID happen,” I said.

“Well… True,” he chuckled as I peeked out the storage room, and saw nobody, then we both walked out and I walked him to the infirmary.

I just hope I have the guts to do this.
