*Jessica*

Warped Tour is pretty cool.

You meet a lot of fans and discover a bunch of new bands as well.

Right now Dad was at soundcheck while I organized the merch tent with Jesse and Alice, Yanni standing nearby with another guard.

I met a few fans who seemed to recognize me and they seemed really nice. Its weird taking pictures though, but it was exciting, too.

"Hey, are you Jessica by any chance?" A voice asked and I turned to see....

A thin guy, not sickly thin, with short black hair and nice green eyes, wearing a Ramones tshirt under a leather jacket, black skinnies, and black boots.

"Umm, yes?" I asked, and that's when I noticed who was behind him.

"Uhh, hey sis," Jackson chuckled as he clung to the guy's jacket.

"I believe he belongs to you?" He asked. "Your name is on a tag on his shirt."

"I got lost," Jackson said with a slight chuckle.

I sighed. "You were supposed to be with Inna, they're probably worried sick now."

"He was almost walking into a wall, then nearly tripped on a trash can, and when I stopped him, I realized he was blind and he told me where I can find you," he said.

"Thank you," I said as Yanni lead Jackson to the merch table, sitting him down and ruffling his hair as I handed Jackson a bottle of water.

"Are you okay?" I asked him.

"Just really hot," he sighed as he drank some water. "Why is it so hot here?"

"Its summer," I chuckled. "Its supposed to be hot majority of the time, especially in Texas."

"I know, but its irritating," he huffed.

"Inna and Jake are probably freaking out, so I'll call them," Yanni said, stepping aside.

"Thank you, Yanni," I said, then turned to the guy. "Forgive my brother, since he doesn't realize how important his baton is," I added with a scold towards Jack.

"I told you, its annoying waving that thing around and hitting things," Jackson pouted, and we laughed as I rolled my eyes.

"But again, thanks for bringing him to me," I said, holding my hand out. "I'm Jessica."

"I'm Bret. Pleasure to meet you," He smiled as we shook hands. "You two must also be Jake's kids, right?"

"Yep," I said. "We came on tour with him and BVB."

"Sweet," he said. "I'm touring Warped for the first time with my current band, Heathens."

"Heathens? Haven't heard of them," I said, tilting my head.

"Its kind of new," he shrugged. "I was once here with my old band, Relapse Symphony, but we disbanded a while back and I formed a new band."

"Huh... Interesting," I said, smiling a bit.

"Jackson, Jessica!!!" We heard and turned to see Inna and Dad run over to us, and Jackson got up.

"Before anyone yells at me, I was only looking for a bathroom," Jackson said as Dad walked over to him and checked him out, as if making sure he wasn't injured as Inna also walked over and stood nervously.

"You should have said something, we almost had the whole crew looking for you," Dad said as he tightly hugged Jackson.

"Thank goodness he's okay," Inna said, holding his hand as I walked over and rubbed her back.

"That guy Bret found me," Jackson said.

Dad and Inna looked over at Bret.

"God Bret, I owe you big," Jake said. "Thank you."

"Its no problem. So long as he's safe," he said.

"You guys know each other?" I asked curiously.

"BVB used to tour and sort of mentor the Relapse Symphony," Dad said. "How are things by the way? Congrats on Heathen making it to Warped Tour, by the way."

"Thanks," Bret smiled. "And everything is great. We're working on an EP right now."

"Nice, can't wait to hear it," Jake smiled as then Ashley and CC ran over.

"Jeez, kid, don't scare us like that," Ashley panted. "You could have given me a heart problem."

"Sorry, guys. I didn't mean to wander off," Jack said, looking down.

"Its fine guys, so long as he's safe now," Jake said. "Thank Bret here for finding him."

"Good to see you again, pal," CC smiled as he and Bret shook hands.

"You too," Bret smiled.

"Hey Bret! We're on stage in a few minute, come on!" A guy called out to Bret from a distance.

"Coming!" He called out, then turned. "If you want you guys can come along to watch the show."

"We still got soundcheck in a bit, but we may be there before it ends," Dad said.

"Say, Jess, why don't you go along and see them?" Inna suggested.

"Me?" I asked. "I'm working merch, though..."

"Relax, we're pretty much done here, and I can hold down the fort on my own for a bit," Jesse said. "Its Warped Tour, have fun."

"What about Jack?" I asked.

"Oh relax, I have shade and water. I won't wander off again," he said.

Bret then stepped up. "It would be cool if you came along," he shrugged with a smile.

*Jake*

I watched as Bret encouraged Jessica, who was thinking about it.

"Well... I guess it wouldn't hurt to," she smiled shyly.

"Great," Bret said, motioning her. "Let's go."

"Just call us if anything happens," Inna said.

"I'll be back soon," she nodded before following Bret towards his band mate.

"Awww," CC said.

"What was that?" I asked him.

"Me saying 'awww' of course," he said.

"It was so obvious, dude," Ashley chuckled.

"How? Bret was just being nice," I said.

"They would make a cute couple," CC said.

"Wait a second, that's going too far. They just met! She was just being nice," I said.

"I think they looked pretty casual," Jack said casually as sat back in his seat.

"See? Jack knows what he's ta-" I said, and realized what he said and narrowed my eyes at him. "Why did you feel the need to do that?"

Jack smiled innocently in my direction as Jesse laughed.

"Don't tell me you're gonna get overprotective of your 19 year old daughter for talking to a guy," Ashley chuckled.

"Guys, come on, he has his rights. Besides, its just watching a show," Inna said.

"You guys are all overreacting. Bret was probably just befriending her," Yanni said with an eyeroll.

I sighed and rubbed my temples.

Being a dad should really come with a manual.
