Marinette's P.O.V.

Of course luck wasn't on my side tonight. Chloe walked around the place like she owns it and started to criticize everyone. And she expects to be queen? I shook my head at her childish behavior.

Plagg and Tikki were talking with Alix and Kim and Bridgette and Felix seemed to have made up and are now dancing the night away. Adrien came back holding with my plate. I wanted to grab some food for myself, but he insisted that he would do it for me. What a gentleman.

"Adrien, you really didn't have to do that." I said as he set down the plate in front of me.

He sat down next to me." But I wanted to."

I smiled and kissed his cheek.

The rest of the night went by and all Chloe got was glares from mostly everyone. But her mood was worsened when Nathaniel showed up with a rather attractive girl. She was about an inch shorter than he was and she had bronze hair and hazel eyes. Nathaniel showed her around and she introduced herself as Chiara Accia .

She was really nice and she had perfect manners. She was a bit scared of Chloe, but we all explained that she was all bark and no bite. Nathaniel looked a bit guilty, but he was able to hide it. But not from me.

"Are you okay?" I asked him as soon as Adrien and he spun both Chiara and I for the dance.

"Yeah." He said trying to be convincing.

"You can't fool me."

He sighed." I just feel a bit guilty about leaving Chloe mateless."

I nodded for him to go on.

"I mean, I know she can be a bit....um....rude but she didn't deserve to be alone , but at the same time, I feel free and as selfish as this sounds, I like it. She was always like that when we were together and she still is."

"That must have been really tough for you."

He nodded." It was. But when I met Chiara, I had someone who understood me. Her mate left her for someone else and she had her mark removed. She suffered the same way as me and we began to see each other since then."

"I see."

The music stopped.

"Thanks for that Marinette, I had to let that off my chest."

"No problem, and remember, we're all here for you."

He nodded and went to the direction of Chiara who was now talking with Rose and Juleka. Adrien wrapped his arm around my waist and kissed my head.

"Do you want to sit down princess?"

I nodded." Can you also gat me something to drink?"

He took out my chair and adjust it when I sat down." What my lady wants , my lady gets."

When he came back, a spotty was placed on the stage. And there was Madam Bustier holding a box. Time already?

"Okay everyone, it's time to vote for the king and queen for the night!"

Everyone cheered except for Chloe who looked smug.

"Okay, in the middle of each table , there are some paper and pen. Once you are done, you are to drop them in the box and the most votes win!"

I took a paper and pen began.

King : Felix Agreste
Queen: Bridgette Cheng

I folded the price of paper and dumped it in the box.

An hour and a half later, Madam Bustier came back on the stage holding two small papers and next to her were the crowns.

"To be honest, mostly half of you all voted for the same couple. The king for the night is..................................Adrien Agreste!"

We all clapped and Adrien went up and Madam Bustier placed the sash around him and the crown on his head.

Once the cheers and claps were calmed down, Madam Bustier opened the small piece of paper. Chloe began to stand up and went near to the stage. Most of us rolled our eyes.

"And the queen is..................................................... Marinette Dupain-Cheng!"

Chloe was stood shock and so was I. Everyone cheered and pushed me forward. I shakily stood up and Adrien took my hand and led me to the stage. Madam Bustier placed the sash around me and the crown on my head.

Chloe's screech went around the room and we all had to cover our ears. I thought some of the glass broke. She glared at me and went to slap me when Adrien stopped her.

"What are you doing?" He said through clenched teeth.

"I'm showing her who's superior, now let me go Adrikinns!" She demanded.

He let her go , but pulled me behind him.

"You can hurt me Chloe, but don't you dare hurt Marinette."

She looked furious." And what about me?! How do you think I felt when she was announced queen and I wasn't?!"

He rubbed his forehead." It must've hurt, but don't take it out on her. It wasn't her fault."

"Yes it is! She must've bribed or threatened everyone to vote for her!"

I stepped up." I not you Chloe."

She glared at me and everyone and ran out.
