A/N: sorry for the long wait!

The birds shook, it had been a couple hours since the storm had finally passed, they didn't think the handlers had found their way back on track to this so called 'Florida.' Cole had a feeling that they where still heading somewhere near it, 'the boat couldn't of gone off that far, right?' He thought he shook, and hummed to himself, a song he hadn't made up at the sanctuary. He usually likes to sing, but right now wasn't a good time, he thought. Humming was the only thing he could do at the moment anyways, he was petrified, never going to forget this, no one else would want to forget it, they took it as a lesson. A lesson, weird. But true. Cole looked up, it felt like they stopped, he stopped himself, the other Crows looked up, they waited, waited for what felt like eternity. They heard other birds, birds on the boat, but also heard birds in the air, they where free, but they sound scared, most likely still in the cages, he thought. A few moments passed, before he felt the crate move a bit, then more, and more, the crate opened up, the what felt like thousands of birds flew outside, some escaping, Cole flew up with them, a hand tried grabbing him, he chirped loudly, before getting pulled out of the air by the hand, he got flipped over to where Cole could see the figure of a human, he felt himself puff up, making himself look bigger, he felt himself breath faster and faster, he made a decision he might hate later, he bit the humans hand with his beak, the human made a yelp sound which sound like what most foxes make, he flew off as fast as he could, he landed at the docks, his wings dropped down, looking up, he saw so many other Crows, he flew up, tired, but alive, 'tired.' He thought, 'I should get somewhere safe.' He thought, Passing one of the many NYC signs.
