Y/N's POV

The news of Dumbledore's disappearance spread quickly around the school and Draco was very happy about it. I, however, was facing backlash from members of the DA. Although it was clearly not me, they all felt that it was easiest to point the finger at me since I was the Slytherin, the outcast.

Draco and the other Slytherins had not found out that I was part of the group. I knew Professor Umbridge would've used the list of names to her advantage, I was the one who handed her the list. However, before I handed it over I performed a quick spell to remove my name from the list. If Umbridge found out, things would get messy. She was the new Headmistress and I didn't want any trouble with her.

I had listened to Issac and magically cut my hair, it returned to my previous hairstyle, the one I had before I had to pretend to become a Malfoy. Even thought Dumbledore requested me to stick to my Malfoy act, I wanted to be myself again, be Y/N L/N again. And if I was being honest, part of why I had a haircut was so people could see my eyes again. Dumbledore told me that I couldn't tell anyone, so I had to hope someone could figure it out. I knew Hermione recognised my eyes so I was hoping by seeing my eyes again, Hermione's intellect would help her discover that I was really Y/N.

The Slytherin Common Room was fairly vacant when I was there, my conversation with Issac helped me think quite clearly, I wanted to be with Hermione, and that wouldn't be achieved by just avoiding her. I had to do something. Quickly grabbing a piece of parchment, I wrote some words, folded the piece of parchment and left the Common Room. Walking down the corridors of Hogwarts, I noticed that at the bottom of the corridor, Hermione's cat, Crookshanks was there. I whistled, trying to get the attention of the cat and lucky for me, he approached me. The cat shot me a suspicious sort of look, maybe he saw past my fake identity?

"Hey Crookshanks," I began, "I need you to give this to Hermione? Is that alright?"

He purred and took the parchment in between his teeth before rushing off, I watched Crookshanks until he disappeared and then I headed off in the opposite direction.

Hermione's POV

I was sitting by the fire with Ron and Harry, my eyes focused on the crackling noise of the fireplace when I saw Crookshanks come towards us. I greeted my cat happily but then noticed that he dropped a piece of parchment in my lap. Unfolding the parchement, I read the words silently.

Meet me at the Astronomy Tower tonight at eight, bring Harry's cloak if you can.
F/N

I felt my heart flutter reading this message, it pained me to avoid the boy but I knew I had to do it. But now he was giving me a reason to go back...to go to him and I couldn't refuse. There was just something about him that reminded me so much of Y/N that being around him made me feel like I was around Y/N again. He gave me comfort in times like this, he made me feel like Y/N had never left me and that he was still by my side. I could tell that Harry and Ron were eager to find out what was written but I didn't want to tell them, especially Ron. He had a hatred for F/N just because he was a Slytherin, he didn't give F/N a chance to show Ron that he was more than just a Slytherin, show that he was more than just a Malfoy.

Ron excused himself shortly after and went to the boys' dormitory, leaving me and Harry there.

"Was that F/N?" the boy asked and I nodded.

"He wants to meet me tonight...can I borrow your cloak?"

"That's fine. What are you two doing there?" asked the emerald eyed boy.

"I'm not sure...I guess he just wants to speak to me." I replied honestly.

Harry laughed. "Is it like a date?"

My jaw dropped. "Of course not Harry! We're not together."

"Not for long, you're too scared to let him in, if you would just go with your heart you two would've been dating months ago."

"Harry, please shut up before I jinx you." I said threateningly.

The boy raised his arms in surrender. "Alright I'll leave you alone, it's almost time anyways. I'll go grab the cloak."

I looked at the clock, Harry was right. It was quarter to eight already, I would have to leave soon. When Harry arrived back downstairs, he handed me the cloak. I thanked him and placed the cloak over myself before leaving the room.

It didn't take me long to get to the Astronomy Tower. When I arrived, I saw that there was a picnic blanket with some food, there were some candles as well as some blankets. As I glanced over I noticed F/N, looking around, obviously waiting for me. I noticed his new haircut and the first thing I noticed was his E/C eyes. He looked in my direction, raised his eyebrows and spoke.

"I know you're here Granger."

I laughed as I took the cloak off. "That would've been awkward if it wasn't me."

"I could just tell, it's a skill of mine." the boy said, his eyes sparkling much like Y/N's.

"What is this?" I asked curiously.

He smiled. "Well, we've been avoiding each other so I just want to catch up with you. Plus the sky was clear tonight so I thought it would be a good opportunity to go stargazing."

I blushed slightly, his idea was fantastic and I thought it was adorable. He sat down on one side of the picnic blanket and I sat on the other.

"So 'Mione, why have you been avoiding me?"

I looked down guiltily. "To be fair...you've been avoiding me as well. I noticed you stopped helping Harry at the meetings, and you didn't come to last one."

"Umbridge needed me..." F/N said quietly.

"And that was when we got caught..." I said, "you tried to warn us didn't you?"

He nodded.

"Oh..." I said quietly, looking away.

F/N's head then turned to meet mine. "Why'd you lie to me Hermione?"

I was taken aback. "W-what do you mean?"

"Harry told me you guys didn't make plans for Hogsmeade, so why did you lie to me and tell me you already had plans?" he said blankly. I tried to survey his face for any sign of emotion but I couldn't. I felt guilty, I felt bad for lying and then avoiding him so I felt that he deserved the whole truth.

"Because, I was scared that the more time I spent with you I would start forgetting Y/N...like being with you is an insult to his memory."

"Hermione, I understand that you don't want to forget or disrespect Y/N but I really like you, I've liked you since I set eyes on you on the train during that Prefect meeting. You ignoring me really hurt, I was starting to think that maybe you liked me, maybe I had a chance. I know I'm a Malfoy and we stereotypically don't like Muggle-borns but I'm not like them Hermione, I really like you."

My head felt like it was going to explode, I was trying to comprehend everything that he was saying, he liked me. I liked him, so what was stopping us?

"Please Hermione...say something...tell me I'm not some stupid obsessed freak."

I opened my mouth. "I...I like you too F/N, but I'm scared."

He moved closer to me and wrapped an arm around me. "Why are you scared 'Mione?"

"What will your brother think? What will people think? What will Ron think? What would Y/N think...?" I replied, trying to imagine how Y/N would react.

F/N brought himself closer to me and I instinctively snuggled my head on his shoulder.

"You don't need to care what they think Hermione. But if it really bothers you, we don't need to tell anyone. It can be our little secret..."

I smiled, before twisting my head, looking up at him. I moved closer to him and gave him a short but sweet kiss on the lips. When we parted he smiled before speaking.

"I brought some food, it's not going to eat by itself."

I chuckled and helped myself to a small sandwich before looking up at the sky. F/N was right, the sky was clear and we could see many stars. When it started getting cold F/N covered us both with a blanket and we continued admiring the night sky. We could see the glistening moon above us, it was a full moon and when F/N noticed he had an odd look on his face.

"What's wrong?" I asked, concerned.

"Nothing...I just remembered something." he said, still looking at the moon. After a minute or so he was back to normal and was happily talking about all the stars and constellations that he knew about.

"And that's the North Star." he said proudly.

"Everyone knows that." I laughed.

"Oh...I thought I was the only one." he said before adorably smiling at me.

"What, why are you smiling?" I asked whilst smiling back at him.

"I just like being here, I just like being here with you." he replied before lying down and staring up. I joined him and laid next to him.

"Are we spending the night here?" I asked.

"If you want, you'd probably have to put the cloak over us and pray we don't get trampled on." F/N said with a chuckle.

I laughed before moving closer to him, his body warming mine. I felt fireworks all over my body, everything felt so natural.

"Hey F/N..." I started.

"What's up 'Mione?"

"How come you haven't asked me to be your girlfriend yet?"

A look of realisation entered his face and he smiled sheepishly. "Hermione Granger, will you be my girlfriend?"

"I'd love to."
