He'd already known that she was alive. Or should I say, they'd already known that she was alive but still...

Now, Thomas was still confused. The first time they saw each other she didn't even seem to recognize him and yet she was right there in front of him.

He is taken off guard when Alex suddenly jumped up into his arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck and hung on tight.

Thomas hugged her back just as tightly after a moment of shock.

We all know that Alex also wanted to kiss him but when she remembered that the other gladers were watching, she started having second thoughts.

''I missed you so much'' She whispered and closed her eyes. ''I'm so sorry, they made me do it''

''I-I missed you too'' he replied back.

....

After a couple of minutes, Alex lifted her head up off his shoulder and looked past him, to smile at the faces of her old and new friends but instead her eyes widened when she noticed a certain face in the crowd.

''No''

Thomas saw her smile drop and noticed as she quickly breaks the hug and took a step back.

''Everybody get away from him!'' She screamed.

''What it is?'' he replied confused.

''Aris'' She said flatly. But Aris didn't seem very surprised.

Thomas looked back from Aris, who was looking back at them, to Alex. ''Do you know him?''

The Gladers, meanwhile, looked as confused as ever.

''Yeah, and he's not who you think he is''

She could have sworn she saw Aris smirk.

Believe it or not, I worked super hard on this chapter. I was having a little trouble writing the very last part because I didn't know what to put. I literally had to keep going through the scenario over and over again until I finally came up with this.
