AHSOKA TANO

Ahsoka, stowed away on the shuttle, crept to the entrance of the control room, where the two droids from earlier were piloting the ship. She was just in time to hear a droid commander over the communication system telling the pilots that they were initiating a scan for life forms.

Now’s the time to act, thought Ahsoka. Darting back to the other end of the shuttle, she activated the escape pod and jettisoned it into space. This way, she wouldn’t be there for the scan, and therefore remain undetected. Steering away from the Separatist shuttle, she navigated towards the emergency airlock of the command ship.

Connecting to the airlock, she turned off the power and boarded the ship. All was quiet aboard the ship, except for the occasional shudder as something important in the ship’s workings was hit, preluded by a faint boom. These were constant reminders of the battle being waged outside.

Slipping down the hallway, she darted around corners when droids of any kind approached. Hiding behind some debris, she overheard a droid speaking through the ship’s communication system to several droid units nearby.

“OZ 29 and OM 7 report to prison block A-19932. The prisoner’s acting up again.”

From her hiding place, Ahsoka smirked a little. That’s my Lux, she thought proudly. He wasn’t one to sit tight until help arrived. She had taught him a few nifty tricks for situations like these, and it was likely that he was using one of them that very minute.

Soon the droids left. Finding an elevator shaft that wasn’t guarded, she entered the number of the floor where the prison blocks were located. As it reached its destination, she stopped the doors from opening all the way, and looked out through the small crack to see what security her adversaries had cooked up.

About thirty battle droids stood guard, as well as two destroyers and two MagnaGuards. She looked up, and spotted a security camera just above her. Focusing the Force towards the camera, she pulled it down just enough to sever the wires that kept it running. With no one else to see her, she decided to show herself.

Laser swords flying this way and that, she finished off the battle droids in the space of a few minutes. The destroyers, MagnaGuards and commando droids proved more difficult, especially with the cloak somewhat encumbering her movements, but they were soon taken care of as well.

Opening the door to the Senator’s prison, she was then faced with eight commando droids, some of them armed with electro-staffs, which proved to be more of a challenge, but were soon nothing more than spare parts. A final slash took care of the torture droid.

She ran over to the source of the electro-magnetics and turned it off, and then caught Lux as he fell down, and tore off the gag. He had evidently been making too much of a racket for the droids’ liking. He woke up in her arms and smiled weakly, but before he could even whisper her name, she took his face in her hands and kissed him hard on the lips.

They remained like that, lips locked, for what felt like a long time, thoroughly enjoying themselves. Finally, Lux pulled away. “Ahsoka-”

“Hush. You’re still weak. I’m here: it’s all okay now,” she said soothingly, and kissed him again, softer this time.

“I knew you would come for me,” he said when they parted. “I tried to get out several times, but I think I needed the extra backup. So, thanks.” Even though he was still a little shaken, he gave her one of his shy-yet-dashing smiles.

She resisted the urge to kiss him again, instead helping him up. “It’s going to be difficult to get out of here without a fight.”

“I know. But we can make it, like on Karlak, remember?”

“How could I not? It was the first time you kissed me.” She reached up to give him a peck on the cheek.

“I am the luckiest guy ever,” he said to himself, which brought on another kiss. Ahsoka felt like she was in paradise.

“Enough of this: we need to get out of here somehow.”

“But I haven’t had enough.” He pulled her closer. She stayed in his arms for a few sweet moments, but the sound of many battle droids approaching snapped them back to the present.

“Time to go, Lux,” she said, turning on her lightsabers, and, giving a brief thought to her old Master, she handed him a gun from one of the fallen droids. He nodded seriously, and pressed the button to open the door.
