During an attack, when Mikasa kills a Titan, she accidentally swallows some of its blood, unaware of the consequences until next morning.

Upon waking up as a 3000 something pound blob, Mikasa tries to get up, and to her shock, she can move quite easily. Seeing as she has only one chance, she works her way over to where Eren is, wakes him up, confesses to him and kisses him, establishing their relationship.
