"Hey students! Im Ms. Melika. Mrs. Young is on maternity leave, as you may know, so I will be your teacher for the rest of the year!"

I smiled. Melika, or Mel as I called her, was my babysitter when I was younger. I cried for a week when I found out she moved to Pennsylvania.

Mels voice shook me back into reality. "I want everyone to get into groups, please. We need a welcoming committee, a poster committee, and a grading committee."

I smiled at Casmira and Bree. "Can we be the welcoming committee?" I raised my hand.

"Sure... So Bree, Sayge, Casimira-"

Lea burst in the door. "Sorry Im late! I didn't get any sleep!" Lea was out of breath.

"And Lea!" Mel finished.

"Wait, what?" Lea was very confused.

"We're the welcoming committee!" I answered her.

"Welcoming Committee, please come to the front of the room."

We shrugged and stepped up to The Desk. (so ominous...)

"We have a new student coming in a couple days. Can you maybe make him a folder with a class schedule and a welcome letter?"

"Sure!" Cas said happily, and went over to the supplies cabinet to pick up a folder.

Um so where is he from?

"France. Chambére, to be exact."  (a/n i was super tired and lazy so i just looked up a bucn of cities)

"Does he know English?"

Yeah, he wrote a very detailed letter to me." Ms. Mel called over her shoulder.

"Finished!" Casmira exclaimed, and held up a royal blue folder with detailed white writing.

"Awesome!" I exclaimed.

"Um so, I was thinking..." Casmira trailed off. "Maybe we can have a welcome party?"

"Thats great! Ill have the cafe cleaned so well you can see yourself in the tables!"

The bell rang for free period. I grabbed my lunch and headed to the cafe, since free period lasted till noon.

"Hey Logan?" I called as i walked through the door. I heard his footsteps (and the clank of pots and pans) in the kitchen.

"Logan!" I cried as I ran into the kitchen and into his arms. (a/n logan is her brother if you havent read the whole thing)

He looked surprised at first, then enveloped me in a hug.

"I had the weirdest dream. I was under a building, and these people came to find me or something, and I passed out, and somehow I ended up here and one of them was watching me. It seems a little odd now that I think about it-"

"Um." I sighed. "Thats cause it really did happen. Now come on, we gotta clean this place up. Maybe later i can paint some new murals, or-"

I never finished my sentence. A boy about my age in an Adidas sweatshirt stepped inside.

I signaled Logan to go to the kitchen and start making the lunch stuff.

"Hi, welcome to Sunset Cafe! What'll it be today?"

"Um do you know where Falls High School is?''

"Yeah. Across the street, then walk about 2 blocks north. New there?"

"Yeah. starting in a couple days."

"Cool! It has an amazing curriculum, and everyone there is really nice."

"Well, thanks. Im Konnyr. See you in a couple days!" He smiled and waved and left the cafe.

I sighed and sat on the counter. "When will the brunch crowd come..." I muttered. The bell above the door jingled. "Carrie!" I smiled. "You're our first actual customer. I was actually starting to think-"

"Sayge, school is out for the rest of the week."

"What?"

"Theres been some-damage-done to the side. It was a small explosion, but nothing was found except for some sort of black residue."

"Shadow!" I breathed in horror.

"What?"

"Um...uh, how awful!" I quickly played it off.

She didnt seem to hear me. "There are 2 people with very minor burns, and one student with a broken arm. Otherwise, everyone is okay."

Which classroom?

"None. The cafeterias outside wall is blown out, though."

"Oh." I knew that no one was inside the cafeteria during free period.

"A girl-Noella, i think?- was screaming about her suede boots being burned, and so now she has a miniscule mark on the top of her foot. Little Diva Queen."

"Yeah, I know her. We're -how do i put it nicely?- mortal enemies."

Carrie smiled. "Glad you were nowhere near there. Ill have-"

"Double espresso with extra whipped cream, and an english muffin lightly toasted? On it." I smiled.

I quickly rushed upstairs to grab my favorite apron, but a call interrupted me.

"Hey Sayge! Soooo guess who just visited the school?" Brees voice echoed through my room.

"Uh who?" I was completely clueless.

"That new guy, Konnyr. He wanted to know his homeroom, his classes, and schedule and stuff, and then the cafeteria exploded!"

"Woah, You and Casmira must be having a writers dream!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah, she looks weird-Hey Cas! Cas? I gotta go. Bye, Sayge-a-roo!"

"Yeah, by-" Bree ended the call. The doorbell rang downstairs.

"Carrie!" I moaned. I had forgotten all about her order.

"Coming!" I called.

I heard friendly chatting and laughing downstairs, and Tucks distinct barks.

"Tuck!" I clomped down the stairs. I heard his tags jingle, then his footsteps into the kitchen. Tuck always wandered off and came back at lunchtime.

"Sorry." I grimaced as I tripped over a customers foot. "Here, the espresso and english muffin."

Carrie smiled. "Thanks Sayge!"

I walked past Dallas, a boy in my class. "Hey!" I high-fived him. "Mini pizza?"

He smiled. "How do you keep track of all of this stuff?!"

"I have a big head." I winked as I walked past.

So i'mm gonna get this up (hopefully all of it) by Christmas Eve as a little present to you guys!!

We just got our tree yesterday (good going, fam) but no ornaments are up. My dog tried to eat part of it.

I had the strangest dream-you know that new-ish movie with santa and jack frost and the easter bunny? For some reason Jack was in mine for a bit... a bunch of people were in a truck (including me) and there was snow everywhere and Target and for some reason he had a girlfriend in the people group thing i was in and i was jealous (now it just dawned on me that his gf was probably not his gf and a flirter) and there was another part with a boy in my class and some kingdom deal and reading Frozen but it was different and then going up an ice waterfall and then the truck thing happened (deep breath) and it was odd...
