Jin fell asleep as more hours went by in the hospital, she was startled awake when a hand touched her shoulder, looking up quickly hoping it was Zuko but her heart sunk seeing Katara.

"Oh, what time is it?" She sat up rubbing her face still a little hung over.

"Uh.. your plane leaves in two hours," Katara sat next to her. "I told Sokka to stay in the car, he's outside,"

"Thank you, I guess that means I'm going home," Jin looked down sadly, there was no news, no updates on the two men.

"He's going to be okay, both of them are," Katara told her gently but there was tension between the two of the girls.

"I know you hate me, and honestly I don't care, but I also don't blame you," she sighed softly closing her eyes.

"I've looked out for him, even if Zuko and I break up in the future I still care about him like when we were friends, making sure he wasn't alone even when he tried to push me away, but honestly he's more emotional than both of us," she tried to joke but Jin glared at her.

"Just give him a call when you get back, get a meal and get some rest," Katara shrugged a little and handed her some money.

"I don't want your money," jin frowned.

"Just get one last American meal before you go then, I don't care it's only fifteen bucks," Katara scoffed giving up at the stubbornness.

"No wonder you and Zuko stuck around each other for so long, your both stubborn assholes," she crossed her arms leaning back. Jin blinked a few times but giggled a little shaking her head.

"Just, please take care of him, I know I missed something important between you two and I hate that I can't be there for him anymore," jin stood up still frustrated but forced a smile, Katara nodded.

"You know I will," Katara pursed her lips a little. Jin looked back at the door and sighed knowing no one was going to be coming out any time soon.

She didn't say anything else that needed to be said to the other girl as she went to find Sokka who would drive her to the airport in time, she hated she won't know what would happen or if anything would happen in almost 24 hours, she prayed for the best for the man and her friend. She hoped he would call her, she needed to apologize.

Katara was watching the news as another hour went by in silence but she didn't mind, there was two kids playing with cars in the middle of the waiting room with their parents watching. She tapped her phone boredly.

"Are you with the susano's?" A male nurse walked up to Katara remembering she was there earlier.

"Yea I am," Katara sat up more hopeful.

"If you'd like to visit since it's just you, you may, iroh is resting still so please keep it down," he told her calmly and Katara nodded eagerly as she stood up to follow.

She went into the room as the currents were half opened to let in some sunlight in the dark room, she saw Zuko was sleeping with his hands clasped around irohs as the old man was unconscious. That's why there's been nothing new, zuko's been sleeping the whole time.

Katara pulled up a chair on the other side and sat quietly as she went on her phone to let Sokka know she was in the room in case he came back. She didn't want to wake Zuko up seeing he was tired from worrying so much, she gulped a little leaning back more. It was heartbreaking to see the two like this.

"Katara?" She heard and looked over seeing Zuko waking up as he lifted his head.

"Hey sorry, I didn't want to wake you up," Katara looked at him gently.

"It's okay, I didn't realize I fell asleep," Zuko rubbed his uncles hand a little and looked at him concerned.

"How's he doing?" Katara scooted so she was across from him.

"He's on medication right now, he'll probably be sleeping all day, he woke up for a second earlier," Zuko sighed a little as he glanced at her.

"He said his sons name," he breathed sadly. Either he saw his son or thinks Zuko is his son... but either way he said he was proud, he just hoped that's not the last thing he was going to hear from his uncle.

"What happens if uncle doesnt get better? What am I going to do?" He whispered pushing his hands in his hand and closed his eyes.

"You're not going to be alone, and your uncles not going anywhere, he's going to get better and you both are going home," Katara told him confidently.

"Be realistic kat, I can't rely on miracles," he looked at her but his eyes were still red from earlier.

"It is realistic, he got a couple bumps and is going to recover, it might take a while but he'll be fine, he's stable right?" She nodded not looking away.

"For now, he has internal bleeding from the impact of the crash," Zuko crossed his arms over the bed and Katara paused not knowing that much.

"I'm sorry, I know your scared," she whispered looking down. Zuko softened and looked down as well in guilt.

"I just don't want my dad taking advantage of the situation and something happening, either to uncle or.. taking me back," he rubbed his nose a little.

Katara nodded softly understanding why he was so afraid, the only adult that's been his safe haven, he was able to be a happy normal teen again with. Iroh was zukos father, and Zuko was irohs son, they needed each other. This was the only family he had left, Ozai and Azula weren't family to him, and now he had to think about how to get out of going back even as a minor.

"You know we'll help you too, my dad, Sokka, we're all here for You, if you need someone to even go feed durk for you we'll be there to help, I'm always going to be here for you Zuko," Katara sighed softly as he closed his eyes.

"I know, I'm sorry I just... I can't help but this my uncle felt the same fear when I tried.. last time I was in a hospital, I hate that I made him feel this way cause this fucking sucks," Zuko gulped a little more as his throat burned.

"Yea, but you got better, you recovered, so will be, you have to hang onto hope for him," Katara said quietly and Zuko nodded a little but obviously still tense.

"I just hate that I wasn't there, maybe could've avoided the accident," he mumbled.

"I know, but there's nothing you can do now but be there for him when iroh wakes up," Katara walked over and kissed the top of his head gently as she stood behind him.

"You really think he'll be okay?" Zuko touched her hand on his shoulder.

"I do, your a lot like your uncle, stubborn to prove everyone wrong, he'll be chatting your ear off about how long your hair is soon enough," she smiled kissed his cheek from behind and Zuko sighed once more but smiled a little at her.

"Want me to get you something to eat? I gotta call my dad anyways," Katara brushed her fingers through his hair as she stood behind him still.

"I'm okay, thank you," Zuko leaned against her but missed her warmth when she left the room to call her father.
