Katara stayed with iroh as Zuko went to get them coffee and to let him get some air, she kept the tv at a low level so she could listen to the heart monitor but was texting the group chat with her brother and the others, an old one that didn't have Zuko in it.

🧡Suki💚: so he's going to be okay?

K: I'm pretty sure he'll recover, Sokka can you grab me clothes for tomorrow, bring your sweats and shirt or something for Zuko

👎Sukis bitch🎣: why my stufffff

K: fine go through my boyfriends clothes and figure out which is his pj pants and what has his boxers

S: he is not getting my new pair of sweats

K: that's fine just not jeans!

🌀Airhead🌀: where is Zuko?

K: I made him go take a walk to stretch, I think I'm going to stay the night with him

Suki: you going to be okay hanging at the hospital for that long?

K: I'll be fine, they have a couch in here

S: I'll come around in an hour or so with some clothes for you guys, don't yell at me if you don't like it

K: be nice about what you bring

S: how dare you accuse me of not doing so!

Katara heard a small grunt from the side and heard iroh snore loudly. She sighed a little leaning back in the chair waiting for Zuko to come back.

"Katara?"

Her head snapped up quickly seeing iroh awake as he was laying on the bed facing her.

"Iroh your awake," she smiled brightly scooting closer.

"How are you feeling?" Katara asked softly as she put her hands over his calloused dry hands.

"Sore, like I'm 40 again," iroh groaned a little trying to get up but she stopped him.

"Hey just stay down, I'll get a nurse," Katara reached for a button to call for the nurse.

"Where's Zuko?" He asked laying his head on the pillow but hissed a little in pain and saw his leg was in a case. "Why is my leg broken?"

"Zukos getting drinks, you got in a car accident and had a heart attack," she explained flatly raising a brow at him.

"Oh yea, I did," iroh smiled a little remembering.

"You literally almost died,"

"Hehe but I didn't," he grinned mischievously at her.

"... are you not worried?" Katara blinked a little.

"I am, I definitely need to go work out again," iroh nodded closing his eyes.

"Once the leg is all good again," he motioned.

"I'm glad your okay, zukos been really worried about you," Katara smiled softly running a hand through her hair relieved.

"Ah... I'm not surprised, I didn't want to worry him when I started to drive to the hospital," iroh frowned a little but they heard footsteps enter the room.

"Hey look who's back from the dead," Katara waved kindly seeing Zuko.

"Uncle, your okay," Zuko breathed relieved as he gulped a little.

"Best I've ever felt," iroh patted the bed for Zuko to come over.

"You're all drugged up," Zuko sat in the chair next to the bed.

"I'm going to run to the bathroom, sokkas coming by in an hour," Katara got up so the two could talk in private more. Zuko looked at her softly and she nodded smiling.

"So how are you really feeling?" Zuko asked as she closed the door behind her.

"Zuko you better marry that girl," iroh pointed to the door and the boy blushed brightly.

"Uncle!"

Iroh chuckled softly at his nephew and looked at his boy gently resting in the bed.

"I'm feeling fine, just sore for now till the pain comes back," iroh sighed putting his hands over his round stomach to relax. "Hospitals don't have good tea do they?"

"I checked, they have the sweetea crap," Zuko nodded a little.

"Can you sneak in some?" He raised a brow.

"I can ask Sokka to bring some tea," the teen smiled grabbing his phone.

"So where's jin?" Iroh asked after a moment.

Zuko paused for a moment remembering the fight and that she left without saying good bye... he hoped that wasn't the last time he would be talking to her, they fought once in a while before but nothing before. She's never touched him, she knew he didn't like being grabbed and she looked offended when he pushed her away. He knows he shouldn't have pushed her in the first place but he panicked. He should apologize...

"She headed back to Japan today," Zuko sighed a little drinking the coffee he brought.

"She doesn't like Katara at all... I couldn't get them to get along," he groaned a little as iroh was surprised.

"Girls are... odd about sharing people sometimes, and some girls just don't get along and that's okay too," iroh nodded.

"Both have a love for you, not always romantic but they care deeply and feel they need to compete to show who means more, even thought girls should never fight over a man, I never liked that," iroh made a face at the thought of two girls competing for a mans attention, especially those two girls. Katara and jin are both very independent and can hold their own, they didn't have to compare.

"Katara told me that jin thinks I might replace jin with her... but that would never happen," Zuko looked at him worried.

"We got in a fight, jin doesn't think Katara wild stay with me..." he pursed his lips.

"and I get that, people date and break up in high school, but... I don't just date and break up with girls," he sighed putting his head down on the bed. He felt a hand touch the top of his head.

"Talk to jin, if this is the end of your friendship be on good terms, but don't end a friendship because of a girlfriend, same goes for dont lose a love for someone who never gave a chance," iroh smiled down at him.

"Katara have been through a rough patch in your life, more than jin was ill admit, and you opened to her faster about more than jin... but without jin maybe you wouldn't have been able too open up, don't choose between them,"

Zuko closed his eyes softly with his forehead against the bed, he sighed nodding understanding. It was true, Katara was there when he was getting beat by the students, to the abuse he dealt with from his father and... witnessing more... and was the first person he told about his attempt outside his family. But jin showed him how to trust again.

"You should get some more rest uncle, I'll talk to the nurse to see when you'll be released," Zuko looked at him gently and iroh grabbed his hand tightly.

"I'm sorry for worrying you my boy," iroh smiled back at him as Zuko squeezed his hand back.

"You're okay now so there's nothing to apologize for uncle," Zuko smiled back a little.
