The Greek god, Evan, was the child of Heidi, the goddess of earth's fertility and harvest, and Clyde (the name Astro and I are giving Evans dad), the king of all the Olympians. Heidi was the most nurturing of goddesses and, in turn, was the most nurturing of mothers. She cared as deeply for her son Evan as she did the earth. Evan lived a happy, fruitful childhood, playing with the other Olympian children and spending time in the gardens of Olympus.

On one occasion however, as Evan was picking the flower, narcissus, with a group of his favourite flora nymphs, the earth suddenly opened up. Out of the deep, dark blackness Connor emerged.

From his place in the Underworld, he had seen Evan's innocent beauty grow to radiance. He desperately wanted him to be his Queen of the Underworld. So, one day he approached Clyde asking for permission to take Evan as his Queen. With little concern for how Heidi would respond to such a request, Clyde agreed and Connor was given consent.

Now, Connor, at the sight of Evan's natural but rich beauty took hold of his and carried him gently down with him to the Underworld. Evan cried out for his dear mother Heidi but to no avail. Now in the Underworld, Evan was under Connor's control.

Heidi approached the gardens where Evan usually played with the nymphs but could no longer find her son anywhere. She found one particular nymph in a grove, usually boasting morning glory flowers in her hair, sobbing; the flowers lay strewn along the lush grass. Heidi gently asked her where Evan was. The nymph, in anguish, would not answer.

Stricken with grief, Heidi scoured the earth in search of her son. Her immense sorrow caused the earth to grow dark, cold, and barren. The once lush meadows yellowed. The trees curled and furled. The rain stopped.

Having searched the entire living land, Heidi finally contacted Clyde. He informed her of Evan's marriage to Connor in the Underworld. Heidi grew into a motherly rage. She demanded Clyde to return Evan to her care.

But Clyde refused.

Heidi left Olympus and watched as the earth began to decay without her nurture. She sought to punish Clyde for betraying her and their son. The now yellow meadows blackened and decomposed to dust. The trees began to shrink into the hard dirt. The rivers shriveled up, and the lakes froze over.

Clyde had no other choice but to agree to Heidi's demands.

He told Jared, the messenger, to bring Evan back up to Heidi's care.

In the Underworld, Evan had grown to love Connor, who treated him with compassion and loved him as his Queen. As he would have up in Olympus, he remained eternally beautiful in the Underworld. Connor admired his kind and nurturing nature. However, Evan missed his dear mother greatly and wished to spend time on earth with her.

When Jared reached the Underworld, he requested that Evan come back to earth with him to rejoin his mother and father. Connor knew he could not refuse the commands of Clyde, but he also could not part from his beloved Evan.

Before he departed from the Underworld, Connor offered Evan a pomegranate as a farewell. This was, however, a cunning move by Connor. All the Olympians knew that if anyone ate or drank anything in the Underworld they would be destined to remain there for eternity, as the Fates had cautioned. Even Heidi had warned Evan of this fate and instructed him never to eat or drink anything.

Thinking of his mother, Evan decided to, instead, eat the small seeds of the pomegranate – Even though he knew these would count as consumption. After eating six of the seeds, Evan was approached by the Fates, who told him he would forever remain in the Underworld as Connor's Queen.

Jared sadly went back up to Clyde and Heidi, who anxiously sat awaiting her son's return. Upon the sight of Jared alone Heidi spiraled into a fit of immense grief and sobbing – she knew what Connor must have done to keep Evan there.

However, Clyde, being the mighty king of all gods, could not allow his beloved land to become decayed and barren; and so, he met with Connor himself. With the help of Jared the infamous deal was struck.

Because Connor had deceivingly 'tricked' the young Evan into eating the pomegranate, he was commanded to allow Evan to visit his poor mother above his domain. In return, Clyde promised a binding deal that allowed Connor to have Evan a month for each seed he had eaten. Thus, for half of each year, Evan was to sit on the throne of the Underworld beside Connor.

During Evan's six months on earth reunited with his mother, the land was fertile, beautiful, and warm. The meadows were lush and of the deepest green. The trees were tall, sturdy, and fruitful. The rains came often and drought was unseen.

However, when Evan left the land and entered Connor's domain, earth experienced a cold, dark period with no growth. Heidi grieved for her son and had little time to nurture the land.

Thus, according to Greek mythology, the seasons were created – the autumn and winter months were when Evan sat on the throne of the Underworld beside Connor, and the spring and summer months were when Evan was reunited with his dear mother, Heidi.

Tada! Okay, so incase you haven't read the actual story, Hades (Connor) actually did trick Persephone (Evan), because Persephone didn't think that the seeds would count. Anyway, that's all for now. What did you think? Feel free to leave a suggestion for another chapter. Till next time, bye!
