The group made their way out of the now crashed helicopter. Sonya had looked around. It was a field with flowers. Sonya thought it looked amazing, if only she had a camera to take a photo.

"You should have brought the Avengers super jet." Alexei told Natasha, who was crouched down. She rolled her eyes and sat back up. The girls started to walk away from him.

"I swear, if I hear one more word from him, I will kick him in the face."

"He's the worst."

"I agree with you."

"Natasha, Natasha, Natasha. Come here, I want to ask you something." Natasha slowed her walk as Yelena and Sonya kept going in silence. They kept walking not hearing the conversation until Natasha raised her voice.

"You haven't seen us in twenty years,  and your first question is about you?" Natasha asked in disbelief. Yelena and Sonya stopped. "What is with the tension? Did I do something wrong?" He asked.

Sonya watched as the girls looked at him in disbelief. "Is that a serious question?" Yelena questioned. Alexei looked serious.

"I only ever loved you girls. I did my best to make sure you would succeed to achieve your fullest potential and everything worked out." He finished his big dad speech.

"Everything worked out?" She repeated.

"Yes. For you, yes. We accomplished our mission in Ohio. Yelena, you went on to be the greatest child assassin the world has ever known. No one can match your ruthlessness. And Natasha, not just a spy, not just toppling regimes, destroying empires from within but an Avenger" He spoke proudly.

"You both have killed so many people. Your ledgers must be dripping, just gushing red." Sonya crossed her arms as she looked around where she was.

She heard Natasha's footsteps coming towards her as she started to walk with Natasha. She slowed down to be walking next to the young girl. Yelena, and then Alexei following along.

"Is her ledgers red, who is that?" She heard alexei ask. Yelena sighed, "The new and improved child assassin, Sonya Clover-Petrov." She heard alexei gasp in awe. She rolled her eyes as she saw Natasha glance at her.

Soon all four of them were in sync. "So, are we there yet?" Yelena decided to asked. Alexei looked at her, "Oh, you'll know when we're there." And then he snorted like a pig.

They soon made it to a house with a electric wired fence. They saw a woman with a large gun walking towards them. Alexei walked forward as she put the gun down. Yelena and Sonya couldn't seem to look her in the eyes.

"Honey, we're home." Melina walked out and they followed her to a small house.

"Welcome to my humble abode. Make yourself at home. Let's have a drink." She heard Melina say to them. Yelena stood next to the young girl who was leaning against a doorway.

"This is-"

"I know who she is." Melina stopped Yelena from introducing her. Sonya sighed as she sat down a chair at the table. Her record had to have been well known after she tracked down the shield agent.

Soon Yelena sat across to her with Melina and Natasha sitting after awhile. They heard alexei grunting in the bathroom making them look weirded out.

"Let's drink." Melina told the girls as she opened the vodka. Natasha handed Sonya a water she got for her. Sonya thanked her. Soon alexei walked in a red guardian suit.

He cleared his throat, notifying Yelena and Melina who were facing away from him. "Still fits," He told them. Melina wolf whistled making the girls get grossed out. As if watching their little kids watching their parents kiss.

"I never washed it once, come and drink." Melina told him as he came to sit next to her. "Rise, workers of salvation." He started to sing before saying, "family back to together again. Plus, a new one." He referred to Sonya. She shook her head.

"Well, seeing as our family construct was just a calculated ruse that only lasted three years, I don't think that we can use this term anymore, can we?" Sonya could tell why Melina was chosen to help dreykov.

"Agreed, so here's what's going to happen-" Natasha told her before she was cut off by alexei, making Sonya dislike him more.

"Okay, a reunion then, huh. And uh... I want to say something right off the bat. You haven't aged a day, huh?" Alexei told Melina, "You are just as beautiful and supple as the day they staged our marriage." Yelena grabbed her shot of vodka and drank it. Sonya wished she could.

"You got fat. But still good." Melina flirted back. "I just got out of prison, but I uh, still have a lot of energy." Sonya mentally wished she had headphones so she could not have to listen to their flirting.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom." She told them as the family started to bicker. She washed her face and looked at herself in the mirror.

The bags under her eyes were less noticeable and the scars were healed. She nodded and left as she opened the door to see a sitting pig, not breathing.

"We infiltrated the north institute in Ohio. It was a front for S.H.I.E.L.D. scientists.  Actually, it was hydra scientists at the time. In conjunction with the winter soldier project, they had dissected and reconstructed the human brain to create the first and only cellular blueprint of the basal ganglia." Melina explained as she sat down.

Sonya saw Yelena's stare to Natasha. She knew what it meant. "We didn't steal weaponry, or technology. We stole the key to unlocking free will." She made the technology that ruined Sonya's and yelena's mind.

Natasha stepped in. "What are you doing?" Natasha asked as the pig fell. Melina looked at her, "Oh, I was explaining that the science is now so exact, the subject can be instructed to stop breathing and has no choice but to obey." Sonya looked at Natasha.

"Okay, you made your point. That's enough." Natasha told her as she glanced at Sonya's face. "Yes, all right. Don't worry, alexei could've survived eleven more seconds without oxygen." Melina told her as she let her pig breathe. She made the pig go back home as they watched him leave.

"The world functions on a higher level when it is controlled." Melina went on, "Dreykov has chemically subjugated agents all around the globe." She told them.

Yelena looked at her. "And do you know who they test it on?" Sonya looked down. Melina shook her head saying she didn't.

"Ah, come on come on. Don't lie to them." That sentence made Sonya not hate him less. "I'm not lying." She told him.

"You're Dreykov’s architect, huh?" He pushed. "What were you if I were his architect, you were his partner." They started to argue. Sonya looked at yelena as she just stared at Melina in disbelief.

"Shut up," Natasha silenced them. She pointed to alexei "You are an idiot." And then she pointed to Melina, "and you are a coward. You are a coward. And our family was never real so there's nothing to hold on to. We're moving on."

Sonya had saw the hurt look on yelena as she lowered her head.

"Never family, huh? In my heart, I am simple man. And I think that for a couple deep undercover russian agents, I think we did great as parents, huh?" Alexei responded to her.

"Yes, we had our orders and we played our roles to perfection." Melina added on. "Who cares? That wasn't real."

"What?"

"That wasn't real, who cares?" Natasha pressed on. Sonya had elbowed Natasha and pointed to Yelena, who looked as if she was going to cry.

"Don't say that. Please don't say that. It was real to me. You are my mother. You were my real mother. The closest thing I ever had to one. The best part of my life was fake. And none of you told me.

She turned her head to Melina. "And those agents you chemically subjugated around the globe? That was me. That was Sonya."

She turned her head to Natasha. "And you, you got out. Dreykov made sure no one could escape. Are you going to say anything?" Natasha looked down in shame. Melina went to put her hand on yelena's shoulder but she stopped her. "Don't touch me" Yelena said as she stood up. She grabbed the vodka and walked away.

"Yelena." Natasha tried to stop her but she just shook her head and walked into a bedroom. "I had no idea." Melina said. Alexei tried to comfort her but Sonya had a different idea in her head.

"Well, now you do," She spoke up. They all looked her. "What are you going to do about it, architect?" She pointed at Melina before she stood and went to lay on a couch. She would've followed Yelena, but she knew she needed space.

She laid down as they all went to do their own thing. After awhile, she heard alexei sing the song yelena showed to her the first night of hiding. She told Sonya that this was her song and she sang it as they enjoyed their freedom from the red room.

Blue lights were soon flooded Melina's house as Sonya stood up quickly and went behind the couch. She saw Yelena against a wall, as she nodded to her to follow.

She pulled out her hand gun and slowly they crept to see Natasha on the ground. Yelena stood up to see Melina as Sonya checked on Natasha.

"I'm sorry." Was all Melina said before she shot Yelena with the electricity weapon on her hand.

She did the same to Sonya, who cried out in pain. They were soon transported onto a shuttle that were going to send them to place the woman hated the most.

The Red Room.
