Rosalina’s POV

“Rosa, please stay,” Kol begged kissing the tip of my nose.

He was hovering over me with a soft smile on his face.

“I’m sorry Kol, I cannot. My Mother wants me home,” I smiled back trying to squirm from underneath him but to no avail.

“Please Rosa. We can go across the meadows and then we can see the horses. You’ve always loved it over there,” he smirked moving so he was lying next to me.

He took my hand that was lying next to my hip on the grass where we were laying, and lifting it up to his lips and kissing it.

“Kol you know I can’t. I really need to go home. I need to go to a dress fitting for the ball your family is throwing, so unless you actually don’t want me there, you should let me go home. I’ll see you tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that,” I chuckled squeezing his hand encouragingly.

“Fine, I love you Rosalina,” he smiled softly releasing my hand as I got up off of the grass.

“I love you too Kol, I’ll see you at the ball tomorrow,” I stated with a small smile before walking away from him.

I didn’t want to lie to him. I loved Kol too much to want to lie to him, but I had no choice. If he knew what I was he would never feel the same way for me. I wasn’t what he thought I was. I wasn’t just that normal rich girl he was falling in love with. I had a very dark secret he would never understand, and one day he would get suspicious to why on every full moon I made excuses to leave him, but for now lying to him was all I could do. I couldn’t let him see me when I was like this, being a werewolf and all.

Holding onto the bottom of my skirt holding it slightly off of the ground, I picked up my pace, heading towards my home.

When I reached the house, I could feel that something wasn’t right- I had no idea why. A dark presence loomed over my home. Nothing was physically out of place, and nothing looked peculiar.

I opened the front door, wearily looking around my home.

That’s when I saw it, the red pool that covered my main entrance way of my home. Lying in the blood was my family.

Each one of them had blood dripping from their neck as a whimper escaped my lips, whilst I felt physically sick.

Why would someone do this? My family never wronged anyone. And if we as a unit had hurt someone why wouldn’t they wait for me to come home before killing us all.

Knocking me out of my emotionally painful haze a voice spoke.

“Hello love.”

I spun on my heel to look towards the front door.

“Oh it’s you Niklaus. I thought it was the person who did this. They’ve all been killed. Who would do this type of thing?” I cried.

Fear and pain was all I could feel, but it eased knowing that the man I loved would still be there for me as was his family.

“But it is the person who did this,” He chuckled.

“What do you mean? Did you do this?” I asked nervously.

“Yes love. I need you for a plan. Your family would have just gotten in the way,” he stated grabbing my shoulder forcefully.

“What can I do? Why did you kill my family?” I sobbed trying to push him away from me but he was too strong and the pain in my shoulder was slowly intensifying.

His smirk grew with the more pain he caused me. I always knew something was up with him; he just seemed so different, although the whole family did seem a bit odd- just him more so.

“I can turn you into a hybrid, you’re a werewolf,” he smiled ignoring my second question.

“I don’t want to be a hybrid, whatever that is. How did you know I was a werewolf?” I asked with a frown.

He ignored me. I would have found him really rude if I wasn’t completely petrified of him. He bit down into his wrist before pushing it towards my mouth. I did my best to push his arm away or to just close my mouth but I couldn’t do anything but drink the blood.

“Good night Rosalina,” he smirked.

Pain shuddered through my body before everything became black.

My head was pounding as I woke up, whilst my throat burnt badly.

“Finally you’re awake,” Niklaus smiled looking bored.

His smile had an eerie gleam to it making me flinch away from him, even though I knew it wouldn’t really help.

“What did you do to me?” I growled.

“I’ve made you perfection Rosalina,” he smiled.

He hastily leaving the room, and within seconds he came back in with Katherine Pierce. She lived near to me in our town, and was friends with Elijah (Kol’s older brother) and Niklaus.

“Katherine?” I asked, scared of why she was here. Her eyes were teary and held fear, whilst Niklaus held her by her collar.

“Rosalina?” She sobbed.

“Drink,” Niklaus hissed slitting Katherine’s wrist.

The smell was intoxicating but I turned my head trying to prevent myself from being lured in by the smell.

“Drink,” he hissed once again.

He pressed her wrist to my lips as she whimpered. I couldn’t resist the blood, and with that I clamped my jaws around her wrist, drinking before I realised what I was doing. I pulled away whilst Katherine continued to cry.

“I am so sorry Katherine,” I whispered at a barely audible tone.

“It’s okay,” she smiled encouragingly through her tears.

“Now if you survive through the next four hours you’ll be my first successful hybrid,” Niklaus grinned as pain writhed through my body.

I cried out holding onto my stomach in pain. Everything hurt, like my body did on a full moon.

“I can’t believe you. You turned me into this. You’ve made me lose everything. Why would you want to hurt your brother and me so much?” I sobbed hating everything he was making me.

“What do you mean that I’ve hurt my brother? You’re more like him now. He’s a vampire and now you’re part vampire,” he smiled.

My frown grew larger as emotional and physical pain came over me.

“He didn’t know did he?” he questioned with a smirk.

“No, and I planned to keep it that way,” I growled.

Niklaus had explained that a witch had put a spell on him to hold in his werewolf side, which meant he couldn’t create hybrids like me unless he completed the sacrifice.

That’s all I could do. Find a witch and get the curse to be put onto him, then it’d mean only my lie would be ruined and no one else would have to experience this immortal hell.
