Adella had been sleeping for the majority of the day. Maybe she hoped she'd peacefully die in her sleep and not in a violent way.

But she didn't. She felt herself getting better by the hour, which she was grateful for.

Adella woke with a groan, hearing multiple voices around her. She rubbed at her eyes, a small hiss leaving her lips as she knocked her chest.

"Finally, you're awake. Now I understand why everyone calls you sleeping beauty." Octavia's voice was the first Adella heard as she sat up.

Adella looked around to see Fox, Octavia, Jasper and Monty all gathered around her. "What is this, a mother's meeting?" Adella coughed out, rubbing her eyes once again as she looked at them all.

"Basically." Fox hummed, nodding her head with a small smile. "We all wanted to see if you were okay." Fox moved forwards to hold Adella's hand.

"Are you sure this isn't a nightmare?" Adella sarcastically said, pointing to Jasper as she tilted her head. "I'm pretty sure that's a ghost."

"Being sick didn't stop your jokes, did it?" Jasper rolled his eyes at her antics, moving her hand away as the group chuckled at her words.

"I'm the most funniest person in this camp." Adella declared, small grin on her face. "Come on, who's funnier than me?" She challenged, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I'd say Finn." Monty suggested, making Adella's eyes widen, a scoff leaving her lips as she shook her head.

"That was low, Mont. How dare you compare me to my comedic self to my idiotic best friend." Adella tutted, a pout making its way onto her face as the others chuckled.

"How you feeling, anyways?" Octavia asked, a smile still on her face as she looked at Adella.

"Like someone ran me over." Adella breathed out, shrugging her shoulders. "I thought I told Clarke to fight you all off if you tried to come up and see me."

"Both herself and Bellamy tried. But Octavia pushed past them both." Fox nudged Octavia, who grinned, nodding her head.

"I need to hire new bodyguards." Adella shook her head, leaning her head against the drop ship wall. "They failed me and now I'm faced with you losers." She pointed at them all. "Where do I even hire bodyguards?" She muttered to herself.

"Well, Clarke did stop Finn. He's with Raven, now. Both of them tried." Jasper added, making Adella roll her eyes.

"But none of you listen." Adella pointed to the four, small smile on her face as she stared at them.

"No, it's boring around camp without you." Monty breathed out as Adella grinned.

"Dude, you've just made her ego go up even more." Jasper uttered, nudging Monty. Monty rolled his eyes, nudging Jasper back as Adella let out a chuckle.

"Thanks guys. I am extremely grateful to know your lives are boring without me."

As soon as Adella was back up on her feet, Finn and Raven didn't miss the opportunity to hug her. The pair had been worried for the Espinosa girls wellbeing.

After their little interaction, Octavia and Adella were checking on the meat. Adella still was a bit weak but she didn't want to just sit around on her ass, whilst the grounders got closer and closer.

And Jasper, he had told her that until she felt really better, he would give her piggy backs everywhere, not letting Adella say no. And he did.

He had carried her to the hut, a laughing Octavia following them. Adella was grateful for them both. She was grateful to have people care about her.

"Let's get this party smoking." A kid spoke as he threw something into the fire, making Adella and Octavia turn to him.

"You don't want the fire too big. So maybe just try to knock it down with some wet leaves." Octavia told him in a soft tone, hanging a piece of meat up.

"You know, unless you want to set the place on fire." Adella added, tilting her head as she spoke.

"You get that from your boyfriend, Grounder pounder?" He asked Octavia, which made Adella turn to him, glaring at him.

"What the fuck did—" Adella started as she turned to the boy. But she was cut off as she was pushed back gently.

"They're right. A hot fire is not gonna preserve the meat as well." Murphy walked in, standing in front of Adella, so she didn't start a fight. He turned to hang some meat up.

"You can't take the heat, get out of the smokehouse." The kid sarcastically smirked as he looked at Murphy, making Adella's blood boil. "Should be kissing our asses for being allowed back in this camp." The boy sassed as he turned to Octavia and Adella. "Just keep working." Adella narrowed her eyes as she looked at Octavia, who was taken back by his words, only fuming Adella's anger even more.

Adella scoffed as she went to follow the kid to give her a piece of her mind, but, Murphy gently grabbed her arm. "Your brother couldn't get you a better job? Would think anything would be better than working in the meat furnace." He asked Octavia, still holding onto Adella's arm.

"Oh, probably." She nodded her head. "That just means someone else would have to do it." Octavia hummed, walking away from the two.

Adella watched Octavia leave, biting down on her bottom lip as she moved away from Murphy, returning to job. "Who put you up to hang the meat?" Murphy asked her, watching as she moved around.

"Myself." She shrugged her shoulders. "I need to keep myself occupied—make my self useful." Adella looked over her shoulder at him.

"There are other ways to keep yourself occupied." He suggested, making her turn around with a raised eyebrow.

Adella knew what he was getting at. "Oh har har, In your dreams, John."  She shook her head, her brow raised as she turned back to the meat.

He raised up his hands with the shrug of the shoulders, his familiar smirk on his face. "Worth a shot." Adella shook her head with a smile, turning her back on the fire. "It's cute how you got all defensive right there."

"That dude was being a dick to Octavia and you." She pointed out as she turned her back to the fire. "People like that need a good punch to the face." She rolled her eyes. She hated people like that.

"You've also defended me multiple times." Murphy hummed as she laughed at his comment, shaking her head.

"Oh, really?" She raised her brow as she let him continued, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Yep, remember that one time when I was getting hanged and you was like 'Bellamy, he didn't do anything'." He mocked her her as she scoffed.

"I'm never defending you again." Adella chuckled as he grinned. "You was about to be murdered for something you didn't do." She pointed out yet again, trying to justify her actions. "Can't I help a friend?"

"Oh, we're friends now, Della? I thought you hated me." Murphy taunted her, making Adella slowly nod her head.

Before she could come out with another sarcastic comment, she heard her name being called by Raven. Adella let out a groan, running her hands over her face as Murphy grinned at her reaction. "If she tells me to make more bullets, I'm going to shoot myself in the head with the damn bullet." She joked as she left the hut, saluting Murphy on the way out.

Adella walked slowly to Raven's tent, not wanting to make bullets. Raven had turned into a bullet making robot and Adella didn't want to make more.

Adella kicked a few stones, saying random 'hello's' to the kids, hoping one would be nice enough to stop her for a conversation...none of them did.

By the time she got to Raven's tent, Finn was in there, arguing with Raven. "Took you long enough." Raven sighed as she saw the brunette.

"Yeah, I fell along the way, Jasper and Monty tackled me to the floor. Saying how I'm the best person ever." Adella shrugged as Finn sighed, his conversation obviously being interrupted. "Did I interrupt something?" She motioned to the two with her hands. "Should I go?" She pointed behind her, hopeful look on her face.

Before Raven could even speak, there was loud yell. "I leave for two seconds!" Adella groaned as she quickly turned around, exiting the tent as Raven and Finn followed. Adella almost joked on her own breath as she looked at the food hut on fire. Adella's eyes also widened as she saw Murphy and Octavia limp out of the hut.

Adella jogged to their side and helped Murphy and Octavia sit down. "You okay?" Adella them both, looking at them both with wide eyes. Adella's hands moved to hold Murphy's shoulder, and he placed his forehead on the front of her shoulder.

Murphy nodded his head and the girl sighed, turning to see that Octavia is also okay, the younger Blake giving her a small thumbs up.

Murphy turned to the kid that fed the fire, getting up and walking towards him. "This is all your fault! They told you it was too much wood!" He pointed at the kid, referring to Octavia's and Adella's words to him.

"Get the hell away from me." The kid pushed Murphy away, making Adella get up and walk towards them, her hands tightening into a fist.

"We told you and you didn't listen!" Adella hissed, pushing Murphy back, glaring at the kid from before. "This is your fault." She pointed in his face but the kid smacked her hand away. Before she could even push the dude back, or even get a hit on him, the guy was pushed back with just as much force.

"Back off!" Murphy yelled at the guy as Adella widened her eyes, Octavia, Raven and Fox quick to join her side. But before a fight could break out, Bellamy stopped it. Octavia watched the scene with wide eyes, looking between Murphy and Adella, who were both fuming. Their rage literally bubbling around them.

"Hey! Hey! Hey, stop! Save it for the Grounders." Bellamy told the two as Finn appeared, also, moving to stand beside Adella.
He immediately noticed the stare on her face, a stare that could quite literally murder someone. He held onto her arm as her hands shook with fury.

"He went for Adella." Octavia piped up, glaring at the guy as she held Adella's other arm, Raven standing behind Adella with wide eyes.

"What!" Both Finn and Bellamy spoke up, turning to the kid, which made Adella groan out in annoyance.

"Can somebody put that fire out! It's a massive signal for the grounders." Adella voiced as she pointed at the hut that was engulfed in flames.

"Well, now what the hell are we gonna do? That was all the food." Octavia asked, pointing to the fire.

"Maldito idiota." Adella glared at the kid, earning a glare back. She turned to Octavia, who shared a look with Raven. "What?"

"Looks like you've found your new bodyguard."

Adella didn't go on the hunt for food because she wanted to help Raven make more bullets. Ironic. Adella wasn't one for hunting food. She was a mechanic. Adella sat beside Raven, holding onto a small piece of a bullet.

The two worked in silence, until Raven spoke up. "Hey, what's up with you and that Murphy kid?" Raven asked, biting back a grin as Adella frowned, turning to Raven.

"What do you mean?" Adella raised a brow, placing the bullet down on the table and giving Raven her full attention, being taken back by the older girls comment. "Murphy is a friend." She quickly added. Adella was right, they were friends...surprisingly.

"Well, for starters, since he got back to the camp, he's been following you like a lost puppy." Raven pointed out, nodding her head at Adella, who rolled her eyes.

"That's because I'm the only one who can tolerate him." Adella mumbled, shrugging her shoulders. "And he does not follow me around like a-"

"I swear he was about to attack that kid for hitting your hand away." Raven added, tilting her head to the side as Adella rolled her eyes.

"What is your point, Raven?" Adella groaned, throwing her head back in annoyance. "Can't a girl have a friend? Even if that friend is John Murphy?" She crossed her arms over her chest.

"I never said that." Raven hummed, pursing her lips as she turned her attention back to the bullet she was making. "I just would want to know if my best friend has a love life."

Adella's eyes widened, an awkward chuckle leaving her lips as she shook her head. "With Murphy? God no." She scoffed. "You really think that low of me?"

"Oh, hush, Ella." Raven chuckled, turning back to Adella. "I'm not judging. Besides, you could do with getting laid." Raven then narrowed her eyes. "Have you hooked up with anyone?"

"Raven!" Adella hissed, her jaw dropping at Raven's words. "I will throw you to the grounders." Raven couldn't contain her grin.

Raven had always pestered Adella about her love life. Adella never saw the point for relationships, they were doomed to end. But, she didn't have a problem with hook ups, boys or girls. She'd had her fair share of hookups. Rebellious teenager.

"See, you're grouchy." Raven pointed to her, biting back a grin. "There is nothing wrong with scandalous sex." Raven shrugged her shoulders.

"Raven Reyes, I swear to god." Adella muttered for herself, squeezing her eyes shut as Raven chuckled, finding the conversation extremely funny. Whilst Adella found it extremely awkward.

"I'm just joking, Ella." Raven wiped the tears that had fallen from her eyes, chucking still. "But-"

"Raven!"

Raven Reyes was now busy, so Adella was stuck and left with making bullets on her own and waiting for Jasper's gun powder, whilst Finn and everyone else was risking their lives for food.

She was at the top of the drop ship on her own, enjoying the silence when there was a knock on the latch door.

"Nobody's home." She told the person, not looking up from the bullet she was making. She was concentrated, clearly.

"Raven told me I would find you up here." She heard Murphy said as he climbed up. Adella turned her head, rolling her eyes. Of course Raven told him.

"Yep." She cleared her throat, the conversation with Raven hanging in her mind. She never could see anything romantic with Murphy...maybe a hookup. That was it. She had to admit, Murphy was good looking.

Adella cleared her throat once again, looking away from him and back to the bullet. "Raven has me making a hundred of these bullets. I'm still waiting for some gun powder, whilst also, being in charge of the camp." She put down the bullet to face Murphy, taking her cap off and placing it on the desk.

"Yeah, I heard. Everyone's getting ready for the grounders to attack." Murphy told her as he grabbed a chair and sat beside her, watching as she fiddled with the ends of her sleeves.

"We are vulnerable now." Adella breathed out, leaning back in the chair she sat in. "They could easily attack us right now with half of them all hunting for food. Bellamy, especially." She continued. Bellamy was the one who had more fighting experience than anyone. He knew what to do and when. "We need ammunition but what if they have more weapons than us? What if they have more people than us? All we have are small makeshift knifes and a couple of guns." She rambled, looking down at her hands.

Murphy listened to her words, taking in how anxious she was. "We are probably outnumbered and there is a twenty percent chance we are going to live, that's including loosing some of our people along the way." Adella started to rant. She ran a hand through her hair. "We are all going to die." She murmured, dipping her head down.

Adella was optimistic, sometimes. But she wasn't right now. They were at war with the grounders—grounders who have been taught for battle since they were babies.

Without thinking, Murphy cupped her cheeks, making her look up to look at him. "We will all be alright, okay? Nobody's going to die, we will be ready for when they come. We are all going to be fine." Adella sucked in a breath, bitting down on her tongue as she looked up at him.

Adella was quick to chuckle, extremely nervous all of a sudden. Why was she nervous? Were Raven's words taking a tall on her? No. Her and Murphy were friends, people who hated it each other at first.

But why did she feel weird, like his gaze was intimidating her? Like his gaze was tearing right into her, uncovering all her darkest secrets. She swallowed thickly, clearing her throat and avoiding Murphy's gaze.

"When did you get all sappy?" Adella quickly joked, earning a breathy laugh from Murphy. "One minute you want to kill a child and the next you're being all comforting. You're very confusing." Adella joked as she placed her hand on his hand. "And besides, I'm not worried about myself, I'm sure I can knock down a grounder with my impressive knife throwing skills and I'll take their bow and arrows." She smugly said, shrugging her shoulders.

"You really want a bow don't you." Murphy chuckled at the girl, taking his hand off her cheek.

"Yeah, they're awesome!" She said in a 'duh' tone. "Better than some flimsy, old guns." Adella nodded her head. "Speaking of guns, I better get in with these bullets before Raven has my head." She sighed as she picked up one of the bullets, avoiding his gaze once more. "Literally." She laughed as she turned back to the desk.

Adella felt hot, feeling his gaze burning into her. Why was he effecting her? Damn it, Raven. Raven's words had gotten into her head.

Murphy raised his brows at her rapid change and how red her cheeks were. He frowned, but then smirked, slightly.

"Well, I'll leave you to it." Murphy said, standing up and moving his chair, squeezing Adella's shoulder as he moved past her.

She tensed for a moment, turning to watch him leave. Once the latch closed, she buried her head into her hands and let out a groan.

Adella rubbed her temples. What was wrong with her? Why had Raven's words affected her so much? She didn't like Murphy. She was merely his friend.

Raven's words were just getting in her head.
