A S T R I D

The day after Hiccup arrived, I went to the blacksmith because I really needed to sharpen my battle axe.

"Gobber! I'm here" I yelled.

"Ah Astrid hey" Hiccup came out of his workplace.

Whatever.

"Uhm hey" I said hesitantly before going to the thingy where you sharpen the tools. (I'm sorry idk what you call it xD)

I turned to the lever and placed my battle axe on it, sharpening the edges.

"Didn't know you knew how to do that. Before I left, I used to do that for you" Hiccup watched me.

I sighed.

"Well a lot has happened when you were gone" I replied looking if the edges were sharp.

"Y-yeah" He scratched the back of his neck.

"So where's Merida?" I asked sharpening the axe some more.

"At the great hall with the others. They're staying here for a few weeks before they leave"

I nodded in response focusing on my axe.

"Merida's wonderful isn't she?" Hiccup started.

"Yeah" I replied. I couldn't believe we were talking about this right now.

"And strong"

"Mmhm"

"And wise"

"Yeah"

"And--"

"I GET IT. She is everything you wished for in a girl. Don't need to remind me" I cut him off waving my axe around.

I looked at him and still can't get over how attractive he got.

"Is there something wrong Astrid?" He started and I just glared at him.

"I don't know Hiccup. Once you know what's wrong with me, come talk to me yeah?" I asked him.

He looked pretty shocked.

"HEY ASTRID! I see you've come to get your battle axe sharpened! Well Hiccup can--" Gobber came to the shop.

"No need Gobber. I did it myself" I said still glaring at Hiccup then turned away to leave.

I went to my old training place, the woods. I threw my axe around at each tree, never missing a single one.

This anger inside me is what makes me stronger.

I thought of how Hiccup didn't say he loved me back.

I hit the tree.

I thought of how he didn't talk to me when he was gone.

Another tree.

I thought of how painful it felt when I saw his arms wrapped around another girl.

I threw my axe to the tree, making the tip slice through the tree, believe it or not. I groaned. This is gonna be hard to take off.

"Nice skills ya got der" I heard the all too familiar Scottish accent.

"Yeah" I replied taking my axe off the tree.

"Hiccup is nice isn't he?" She smirked.

"Don't say his name around me" I growled and threw the axe to a farther tree.

"Why? Jealous he liked me instead?"

"Just shut up before I drop you in the middle of the ocean"

"And how are ye supposed to do that?"

"I have a dragon in case you forgot" I rolled my eyes and went to the tree that had my axe. Right before I grabbed the handle, an arrow swiftly appeared out of nowhere, passing my head just by centimeter apart and landed on the tree on top of my axe.

I turned around and screamed at Merida.

"WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?" I was furious.

"Listen blondie, I want you away from Hiccup. He chose me and there is no way you are changing his mind" She smirked walking closer to me.

"I don't care" I pulled my battle axe out and pointed it out at Merida, walking closer to her.

"But... If you ever pull a stunt like that around me or ANY of my friends..." I growled, and threw my axe to the tree beside where Merida was, slicing through it's brown body.

Two can play this game Merida. You're not the only one who knows how to play this game.

"Astrid!" Someone called out to me. I was holding my axe tightly in my hand.

I ignored that person's call.

"Astrid hey!" He called out again but I didn't stop walking.

Hiccup then caught up to me and walked with me.

"What's gotten into you?" He asked irritated.

"What's gotten into me? Well, why don't you ask your precious girlfriend how I felt after she almost shot me with her arrow! That girl's nuts!" I snapped.

"Hey. You probably ticked her off" He stopped me. I scoffed.

"I? Me? Tick her off? She ticked me off first but I don't show any signs of threat after she almost hit me!" I replied.

"You ARE an aggressive person, Astrid" He said.

"You know what? I don't care! Fine! Believe it's all my fault. I don't need your opinions! I don't need your ideas! I DON'T NEED YOU" I pushed him away and walked away from him.

"Hey! You've been acting really immature ever since I got here! I thought maybe Astrid and the others would be happy to see me but no! You guys never were! Especially you! Why can't you just tell me what's going on your mind?! Stop giving me all these confusing signs! You're mean, rude, grumpy and, and---"

"Like I said Hiccup, I don't need your opinions or your ideas or even you so please do me a favor and don't EVER talk to me again! Unless you have an idea of what you did to me" I growled pointing my axe at him.

"See!? That's what I'm talking about!" He yelled frustratedly.

"Don't talk to me Hiccup"

"You know--"

"EVER" I growled and walked away.

That boy.

I hate him so much.

But at the same time, I love him dearly.
