There was a disturbance outside their compartment door. A group of fourth-year girls were whispering and giggling together on the other side of the glass.

"You ask him!"

"No, you!"

"I'll do it!" And one of them, a bold-looking girl with large dark eyes, a prominent chin, and long black hair pushed her way through the door. "Hi, Harry, I'm Romilda, Romilda Vane," she said loudly and confidently. "Why don't you join us in our compartment? You don't have to sit with them," she added in a stage whisper.

She was indicating Neville's bottom, which was sticking out from under the seat again as he groped around for Trevor, and Luna, who was now wearing her free Spectrespecs, which gave her the look of a demented, multicolored owl.

"They're friends of mine," said Harry coldly

"Oh," said Romilda, looking very surprised. "Oh. Okay."

But before she and her group of friends could walk out of the compartment and close its door, a trio of girls known as the Hex Girls shoved through them.

"Hello, Harry," Kimberly and said together in a whimsical tone, while Jane opted for "Hey, Potter."

Kimberly shuffled on her feet. "Hello, Ron. How are you?"

Ron awkwardly coughed. "Hello, K-Kimberly, I'm well. How are you?"

She smiled brightly at him. "I'm well as well."

Ron and Kimberly softly chuckled. Everyone looked at them either oddly or with interest. Jane ushered Romilda and her friends to scoot back.

"Excuse us, royalty coming through," Jane mumbled.

Sally held onto Kimberly's wrist and pulled her to Ron. The two looked at each other before Kimberly sat next to her, pressing a thigh against Ron's thigh.

"If you'll excuse me, I'm going to find Hermione," Sally said as she walked out the door.

"And I'm going to find Pansy," Jane said as she followed Sally out the door.

Romilda and her friends looked at Harry one last time before leaving.
