Chapter Three
Where's Bruno when you need him?

3rd Person POV

she sat in the car behind her sister as she stared at the women next to her in slight fear

"mal?" Kamala asked and she turned forward to her with tears in her eyes

"yeah?" she exclaimed and she turned to look out the window seeing them at their house. she got out and walked inside waiting for her sister

" we've been running together ever since as for your great grandmother aisha, that was the last time we saw her" she exclaimed

"so how you all say you knew her? was it like... did you guys meet in school or something?" kamala questioned and mal smacked her forehead

"not exactly. aisha was from another dimension. and so are we" the women said

"oh that's great just great" Mal exclaimed under her breathe

"we're not here by choice. we were exiled" and that was when mal started to feel bad for them

"and just when we got close to find our way home, we were separated" the other women spoke and mal made eye contact with kamala

" We search for her, but with all that happened during partition, we assume she got lost, like so many others" she exclaimed and adam came in laughing. mal smacked her forehead as she looked out of the window

" You are looking very good for being around in the 40s" kamala stated

"yeah it's kind of freaking me out... in a good way" Mal exclaimed and they laughed

"thank you" one of the women said

"not all of he. this one's 17" adam said and kamala smiled at him

" Right she is adorable" She said and they started to fight over it. they left the room with the women

" Thank you for saving us we don't know what happen if you weren't there" mal stated

" It's no problem the least we can do is protect Aisha's family. We didn't even know she had any until you put on that bangle and that necklace and we sensed the presence of noor" she explained and mal snapped her head up with

"noor? that means light right but why does mal have the water?" kamala asked

"we don't know , we haven't had time to think of it yet but we only hope to find out" she said and mal sighed

"where is your smartass bruno when we need him?" she groaned and the women raised her eyebrows

"who's bruno?" she asked kamala

"my best friend, the guy who is in love with her" kamala said and mal snapped her head up

"we know he makes it obvious but you don't have to say it" mal
said

"so what do we call you?" kamala asked

"well i go by a lot of things but mostly we go by djinn" the women said

"okay well thank you but i am going to head home and try to sleep this off. kam come on" she called and kamala got up. they went home and the next day, they stormed into bruno's apartment

"dude we just had the craziest night" kamala said as she stormed in and mal followed

"you can't just text me "i'm alive" and then got get a full eight hours, okay? i was worried about you guys" he said and kamala started to rant

"mal help" he called and she stepped forward as she grabbed his shoulders and made eye contact

"we're djinns" she exclaimed

"and tonic?" he asked and she smacked her forehead

" I found out what we are, and it's not asguardian or alien, or anything cool like that. we're , like, the stuff of childhood nightmares. See, there's, Like, like ghost stories and then there's djinn stories. The djinn stores are so much worse because they're real" Kamala said

"and who told you this?" he asked and mal sighed

" A group of djinn people saved us last night from the drone stuff. They call themselves the clandestines and kamrans one of them" kamala said

" did i not say there was something weird about that kid?" bruno exclaimed

" no you definitely did say there were something weird but they're nice OK but like they told us about the bangle and the necklace and about our powers in our great grandmother Aisha. So at least we know something also, they need our help, which means we need your help" mal said

"i figured. okay, yeah, sure. i guess. why not?i just i don't really know how i could help a group of ghosts and their average looking son. i'm gonna need a lot more information." bruno said and mal smile

"okay but do you know something of Inter-dimensional travel?" mal questioned

"yeah yeah i read a paper but before you go, you're trending" he said and he showed them his phone

"oh that's just lovely" she said and she kissed bruno's cheek before they left the building and went back to their house. mal went home and got on her laptop, she watched the videos of herself with a smile on her face. nothing bad came of it

she stayed home for the rest of the day, she called and he answered

"so what did you find out?" she asked as she set up the phone and paused the video

"a lot im bringing something over for you" he said and she nodded

"again thank you so much b, this means a lot" she exclaimed and he smiled at her as he ended the call. 30 minutes, she went downstairs in her outfit and she found the box. there was two of them

she grabbed one of them and put it in kamala's room before she went to her room and she opened the box. there was a blue mask with green accents around it and she stared down at it with a smile

"bruno you beautiful genius" she whispered to herself. later that night, she went with kamala to bruno's house and went to his room.

" it is for sure possible to inter-dimensional travel, Bass energy of the sun, pretty much. But I realize is all of these the radical problems downplay the margin of the error and if you need the energy of the sun, think about how big the margin of the error must be" he said

" Wait some things might explode if we help them go home?" mal said

"might, there's a chance we have this necklace and the bangle mal" kamala exclaimed

" I got into cal tech" bruno stated stopping kamala from speaking

"bruno that's amazing why didn't you tell us sooner?" mal asked

"i just think you two have been busy but i think i need to go but i can't go without knowing that you are safe" he told to mal and kamala smiled sadly

"but if you want to help these people, i will help you, help them.
Did the research, I will help you figure things out but just right now, today. I just don't see a safe way to do this" Bruno said

"i get it b" mal said

"but carol danvers wouldn't wait" kamala said

"and spider-man wouldn't either but we aren't them kam, we're mal and kamala, we have to think this through" mal exclaimed

"b we have to go home but thank you truly" she exclaimed and they left his apartment and went home. mal went up to her room and she went to bed. the next day was the wedding, she woke up
and she got dressed into her outfit and she walked into kamala's room

"let's go" she exclaimed as she admired her sister lightly. they walked downstairs and they listened to their father talk to their brother. she made eye contact with kamala and kamala nodded in her direction. they went to wedding and they listened the whole
time

they went to the after party and they stuck together. bruno came
in and he looked at mal

"look likes the aunties for hold or bruno" nakia said and they smiled at they watched them start the dance on the floor. me
joined in and kamala joined in with her. bruno came in not much later and they smiled at each other as they laughed

soon after everyone came in and they smiled at each other. mal looked at bruno as they started to dance together. that was until kamran came and they got everyone out of the building. bruno ran with mal as she ran with kamala

they went through the back and they continued to run. they got corner and mal sighed

"let's hope this works" she said and she used the water tonight against them. they hid from them and they looked at each other we they ran off again

"holy shit this is insane" she exclaimed and kamala nodded as they hid behind a wall. she ran her hand over the necklace and then they got hit with something but they continued to run. they used their powers and looked at each other

"ready?" mal called and kamala nodded

"let's do this" she edldiwmer and they combined their lord with each other's as they threw it at them. bruno came in and he got hit but she helped him out

"we have to go b now" she said and they got cornered by them

"why are you doing this?" she asked and after that, she zoned out. they went home and she ran up to her room

she laid down on her bed and she stared at the ceiling. when had everything became so horrible? when had everything changed? she stared at her poster and sighed

"i hate this" she exclaimed

she did hate this but she couldn't do anything. not in that moment
