Yeah, we've all had those moments... That one time in your life when you think you can never go on to live the rest of your life. Many of us, as authors and readers, have given up on our writing in times of boring-ness in our story, but I'm here to tell you to snap out of things and get back into your writing life!

Many people who don't read books or write them don't understand how hard it is it escape. I would bet a big chunk of us use this website as a getaway; somewhere where we know we aren't judged. There are some places set aside JUST for certain things like that, but I believe that we as authors can provide that for other people.

Giving up on an idea may seem like a good idea at the time when you hit writers block, but think of all the people you're helping. Never give up on your writing. It is beautiful, individual, and all around amazing. No matter who tells you, just know in your heart that you are doing something you love.

I, personally, enjoy writing just for the chance to be able to talk and interact with people I normally would never meet. Writing allows me to go that extra mile for someone I may have forgotten about. It's a swirling vortex that can take me anywhere I want! I could go to Paris, or the Grand Canyon, or the Empire State Building, or Mexico, or China. I can go anywhere and whatever I want.

I can time travel through space and time, going back millions of years to dinosaurs or thousands of years ahead with aliens. I'm not trapped in a box. I can express my feelings and everything that is on my mind. What people don't understand is that writing isn't just a talent.

Writing is a skill.

Skills don't come freely. They take time to develop and strengthen. Sure, some people a real nack at choosing words that describe things perfectly, or have the amazing ability to write believeable characters.

Hard Work beats Talent when Talent doesn't Work Hard.

When you're stuck on an idea, don't just walk away in the beginning. Yeah, you're probably pretty frustrated and upset that you can't think of anything- but one day, you'll sit down and pick up a pencil/pen and know EXACTLY what to write.

There are times when I doubt myself and don't believe that I can write as well as people say I do. And yes, I'll admit it, I've thrown entire stories away. I regret that now... I wrote a story way back in 4th or 5th grade that I would just DIE to read now. Don't throw your work away. It's your work. It's so different from someone elses. There is not a person in this world that will write like you.

Don't give up on your dreams before you take the first few blows.

A few months ago, I debated deleting my Wattpad account, but I realized how many readers I was getting on just one chapter. Just one. I thought: "If I can just have a few more reads, I'll pass 2,500 votes. I guess I'll wait a little longer." Look at me now... Already past 4,000.

Ask yourselves: Is getting rid of my writing a smart idea? Am I helping anyone? Do I help myself?

Overall, I want all of you guys to know that even though you may think your writing sucks, don't give up on it. It's not worth it. You might not become as famous as some other people, but hey? Who says you can't get better? And right now in your life, is not having a lot of votes matter? Not really...

Be proud of what you do. Don't let anyone say otherwise. You're writing is so special, and people love it- along with you.

NEVER GIVE UP
