Summerlost is an amazing novel by Ally Condie. My sister and I absolutely adore it, and so... we wrote a fanfiction. POV is of Cedar Lee. Erie is based off of my sister, and Alana is based off the sunnier side of my personality.

The lawn behind the theater is covered with party tents and paint supplies.

"Hey, guys!" Erie calls. Her dark hair is in a ponytail and there are paint splatters all over her dark clothes. She's clutching a graphite stick, probably sketching out the set background.

"Geez..." Leo breathes out. The set is a mix of paint and sketched lines. "How long did this take?"

"Considering the time used to attach the supports, about three hours tops. Alana helped me pick the wallpaper and matched colors."

"ERIEEEEE OH MY GODS PLEASE HELP ME THERE IS A CHICKEN CHASING ME AND ITS SUPER MADDDD!!!" Alana comes stumbling down the hill and ducks behind Erie. Erie says nothing, handing Alana a baggie of seed and going back to the set. Alana uncertainly opens the bag, just as a rooster comes by, sqabbling.

"NOPE! NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE!" Alana screams. She spots a tree near her and expertly scales the branches whilst dropping the bag. "ERIE, I LIVE HERE NOW. NO MORE CHICKENS."
