I accept a stupid dare over dinner:

Nico POV

Out of breath and really hungry now me and Percy arrived at the dining hall at the exact same time.

"I won!"
He declared. I gave Percy a playful shove and replied laughing
"No way! I totally won that!"
Annabeth who had been running behind us arrived along with Jason, piper and Calypso.
Jason was tall and muscular like Percy , except with blonde hair and lighter blue eyes, he had his hands wrapped round his girlfriend, Pipers, waist. Piper being a siren, was of course beautiful, with chopped up brown silky hair, tanned skin and colour changing eyes. I may be gay but I recognise female beauty. Calypso was a lot simpler. She wore a Greek toga and her sandy blonde hair was in a loose plait at the back. Leo had made her immortal back in ancient Greece when she was stranded on an island to die. Calypso didn't seem to have quite moved on from her era and wore very traditional Greek clothing all the time.

Percy ran up to Annabeth a kissed her on the cheek. She brushed his dark hair out of his sea green eyes and pouted.

"Don't leave me behind next time seaweed brain! Okay?"
Percy chuckled.
"Sure thing wise girl!"
We took our seats at the long dark oak table. Our place was bigger than a mansion, so when I  say "dinning room", what I really mean is dining hall, as big a hog warts hall. I took a seat on the comfy red velvet chair and waited for everyone else.

Frank and my half sister Hazel came in linking arms and took their seats opposite me. Frank and Hazel met a while back, and seem to be the only warlock and warlock couple here so far. They get along so well, and I'm very happy to see my half sister with someone she loves. Calypso coughed nervously looking up with her dark brown eyes.

"Has anyone seen Leo?"

Hazel shrugged twirling her dark brown curly hair in her fingers.
"The forges probably, you know him better than us Cally, I bet he is tinkering with a new spell to make more fire robots!"
Calypso nodded curtly.
"I suppose so Hazel... maybe he is casting more spells on festus our poor dragon again!"

At that moment Leo burst in to the room, the big dinning room doors swinging behind him. The small Latino elf like boy was covered in soot and the tip of his curly brown hair was in fire.

"Definitely Festus ..."
Frank mumbled looking at his friends clothing.

"Heya people ! What up today? Did ya miss me honey?"
Leo said grinning as he took as seat next to calypso. Calypso said nothing, just smiled and pinched her fingers extinguishing the flame on Leo's head.
"Love you babe!"
Leo said kissing her cheek. Calypso pushed him away playfully.
"Me too Leo. And don't call me babe."

At that very moment Rachel entered the room. Her red frizzy hair popping out from her head in wild clusters. There was a faint green flow to her eyes. Surrounding her, floating above her head , were plates,dishes, bowls glasses and cutlery, all surrounded by the same faint green glow. Rachel smiled widely at us.

"Dinner is served ! Hope you like fancy pizza rolls and blue cake!"

I heard Percy give a delighted squeal as the plates hovered over to the table, napkins tucked the selves in and knives and forks landed in perfect symmetry on the dinner spread. Jason raised his empty glass which began to fill its self with lemonade magically.
"Too Rachel's amazing pizza rolls!"
There was chorus of cheers and one of Percy's mentions of blue cake, then Rachel also took a seat and we all tucked into our dinner.
I savoured the taste in my mouth. I may be immortal  and not need to eat, but that doesn't mean I can't eat good food!

"So !" Piper begun looking round the table at all of us once we were comfortable.
"What were you all doing today?"
Frank and Hazel blushed a little.
"We went out on a little date , nothing really."
Hazel said shyly. Gods, three hundred years they have been dating and she is still so shy about it. This intrigued Piper however, and she begun to ask them more love related questions. I know she is a siren and was practically made to listen to juicy love stories but what is it with people today? Being so lovey dovey it's annoying!

I absent mindedly started stabbing my pizza roll with my knife. This seemed to attract attention from the others (unfortunately) and confused Piper asked me "what's up Nico? You seem a little bit less merciful towards your food today. What happened to make you want to hurt it so?"

I scowled.
"Why is very one being so touchy and kissing a lot?! I mean really too much PDA! It's almost as gross as humans! It's getting really boring!"
I saw everyone round the table roll their eyes. Annabeth ran her fingers through her blonde hair sighing.

"Not this again Nico! You have been at me and Percy about this all day! Really it seems to me like your jealous you don't have a lover of your own."

I felt my face redden in anger. I slammed my fist in the table squashing my pizza roll.

"Am not Annabeth!"
I then added sourly.
"I'm just bored!"

"Your always bored Nico!"
Percy added unhelpfully. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Clam down Nico! No need to snap at us!"
Hazel said wrapping her arms around my shoulders. I relaxed a bit. Maybe I was being a bit unfair...

"Sorry..."
I mumbled. Everyone began to talk at once saying things like "it's fine!" Or "I understand". I think I heard Percy say "you should be" but that's not a surprise. Suddenly Leo stood up and shrieked.

"I have an idea!"

"Now that's a surprise..." I heard Frank mumble. Ignoring this Leo began to explain excitedly to all of us.

" Nico ! You never back down from a dare right?"

In nodded. It's something I take pride in really.

"And you want something to occupy you so you aren't bored right?"

I nodded a little more interested to see where this is going.
"Well how about you attend mortal school? For fun . I dare you!"

"NO WAY!"
I exclaimed.
"I hate humans! You know that!"

Leo smirked.

"Exactly. It's out your comfort zone, you won't be bored, and you can play pranks on them too! As many evil pranks as you want!"

I hesitated thinking about it. I felt Hazels hand on my shoulder.
"Sounds like a good idea to me Nico! It will be fun! Please!!!"

I looked up still uncertain.
"For how long?"

Jason shrugged
"A year maybe?"

"A year?"

"Yeah that's not too long. Is it?"

I hummed, aware of all the faces around me.
"No."
I said to their disappointment. I decided I hate mortals too much. Leo just had to open his stupid mouth though.
"But I dared you! You said you never back down from a dare di Angelo!"

I groaned leaning back in my seat. I rubbed my eyes then leaned forward.
"Fine. I'll go."
A chorus of cheers went up round the table.

"But only for a year!"
I added sharply.
Hazel waved her hands about frantically grinning like Percy does.
"Yeah of course Nico!"

I sighed massaging my temples. What had I gotten myself into?
"When do I start?"

"Tomorrow."
Leo replied easily.

My eyes widened.

"Tomorrow?!"

Piper giggled
"It is when mortal school term starts! I'll help you get ready if you want?"

"Thanks." I grumbled accepting her offer.

"No problem Neeks! Let's go get ready shall we? A few spells and a disguise of some sort and you will be ready as can be!"

I slowly stood up and followed Piper out of the dinning room as the others wished me luck. I was so going to regret this !
