Lyra's POV:
I walked into the med bay with the two children. Gavin looked over and said "great." Calypso looked up and said "whoa." "We found them on Acheron." I replied. I walked to the counter where they needed to be examined. Hawk hopped up onto the counter and Halo stood behind me. "It's ok." Calypso said. The young girl standing behind me didn't want to move. I turned around and said "I'm going to pick you up now. Ok?" Halo nodded slowly and I picked her up. She stared at Calypso and her hair fell into her face. I set her down on the counter next to Hawk. Gavin walked over with a scanner. Halo's eyes widened and I said "calm down. It's ok. He's not going to hurt you." Gavin looked up from his scanner and said "yeah. I'm not going to hurt you. Crying kids is something I can't stand." Calypso nudged him and he scanned Hawk's wrist. "Hawk Proteus." Gavin said. As Gavin went to grab Halo's wrist she yanked it back. Gavin scoffed and said "you little shit."

Calypso hit his arm and Halo stared at him. "Can I have your wrist?" I asked. Halo shook her head and Gavin rolled his eyes. Hawk nudged her and nodded. She gave me her wrist and Gavin scanned it. "Halo Proteus. Hawk and Halo. They're twins. Twelve years of age. Parents are Sarah Connor and James Howlett." Gavin said. He walked away and stood at another counter. "They don't have their vaccinations." He grabbed two needles and he walked over to Halo who shook her head. "Fine I'll do you second." Gavin said as he stepped to Hawk. He stuck Hawk in the arm and the boy said "ow!" Halo swung at Gavin and I grabbed her. Gavin said "oh, he's fine! Relax!"

Halo stared at her brother's arm that he held. Calypso put a bandaid on it and Gavin stuck Halo. A small scream left her mouth and she went to kick him. I pulled her away from him and Gavin tilted his head. "I hate kids." He muttered as he sat down in the corner. Halo held her arm and Calypso said "can I put a bandaid on you?" Halo looked at her brother's arm and then nodded. She put the bandaid on Halo's arm and I walked to the sink. I filled a bowl up with warm water and grabbed a rag. These kids were filthy. I set the bowl on the counter in between the twins. I wet the rag and cleaned Hawk's face. His hair hung in his face and I pushed back behind his ear. I stepped to Halo and re wet the rag. I wiped the dirt off her face and I said "wow. There's a little girl under here." Halo half smiled and Hawk said "is there any food?" I nodded and he hopped off the counter. Walter walked into the room and his eyes scanned Hawk and Halo. "Twins. I have never seen twins before." He said. Calypso gave each twin a jacket, that was too big for them but it would keep them warm. "We'll find some clothes for the two of you." She said. Hawk said "I'm fine." Walter looked at their clothing and said "their clothes are ratty. The two of you should wear better clothing." Halo stared at Walter and Hawk said "are you an android?" Gavin looked up from his magazine and grumbled under his breath. Walter nodded and Calypso gave the children each a bottle of water. Walter stared at the twins who began drinking the water. I began to usher them out of the room as we headed to the cafeteria. We sat down and there was food being cooked. "What happened to your parents? Do you know where they are? Maybe we can help them. Or find them?" I asked. Halo huffed and said "they're dead!" My eyes widened and I said "I'm sorry. I didn't know. All I want to do is help." "Yeah. Major drag, huh?" Hawk said as he looked at me.

I didn't say anything and Tina set the bowls of food in front of the kids. "You can have as much as you want." I said. Hawk began scooping food on his plate along with Halo. As Halo put spoonfuls of corn on her plate, Tina stopped her, taking the bow away. Halo looked at her, the spoon still in her hand. Hawk was handed the corn bowl and he put some on his plate. There was asparagus and steak.

Billy sat down next to me with Max following behind him. He stared at the brunette girl who was shoving food in her mouth. Hawk was doing the same but he was a little more reserved. "You might choke." Billy said. Halo ignored him and Hawk munched on his steak.

Tina said "god they haven't eaten." "Obviously." Max said as she stared at them. Calypso walked in with Walter who didn't eat. Blaze sat down, his chair rattling since he plopped down in it. Hawk and Halo looked at his bandaged arm. Blaze said "alien blood." Max winced and said "gross." Blaze huffed and Billy said "Forrester, why don't we have a basketball game tomorrow?" Blaze said "you're on." Billy smirked, exhaling on his cigarette.

Max looked at her brother and said "that kills you know." Billy inhaled and said "everything in this fucking universe kills." Blaze cleared his throat and said "yeah but you'll die first." Calypso said "Blaze. Knock it off." Billy licked his lips and I put my hand on his arm. "Billy don't." I whispered. "Yeah, Billy. Don't." Blaze taunted. Tina said "the both of you stop." Billy chuckled and grabbed Blaze's shirt. Calypso gasped and Max said "Billy stop." He blew smoke in Blaze's face and said "anything else you wanna say Forrester?" "No. I'm good Hargrove." He replied. Billy nodded and shoved him. Halo's eyes were wide and Max stared at her older brother. I grabbed Billy's hand and I said "calm down." He nodded again and Max grabbed his other hand. She said "don't fight." Blaze stood up and pushed his hair out of his face. Calypso said "Blaze just sit back down." "No." He said as he walked out. Walter said "anger. He's angry." Hawk nodded and said "he's pissed." "Pissed?" Walter asked. "It's another word for anger." Tina said as she sighed. "Pissed. I like it." Walter replied.
