*Mallory*

I sighed as I clocked back in from my break.

Another busy night of snobby customers, bosses who make you want to pull your hair, and smelling more like sweat, bacon grease and spilled beer, all after pulling a triple shift since 7 in the morning.

Well at least I got a lot good tips, no matter what Dale barks about. Fucking asshole.

(Picture: Mallory Jane Bennett; Portrayed by Karen Lynn Greening, a.k.a. Lee Aaron)

My name is Mallory Jane Bennett. I'm 19 years old, swoon turning 20 in a couple of months, and living in Los Angeles, California, nearby the famous Sunset Strip.

My home is Tucson, Arizona, though. However, life with the shit show that was my family wasn't for me, so I ran away and hitchhiked my way to Los Angeles for a better life.

Though of course being a waitress at the Rainbow Bar & Grill with a misogynistic asshole of a boss and the crappy apartment that I'm behind on rent which blows, but it beats living back home anyday.

Plus, Dottie has been more of a motherly figure to me since we met, and said her home is open to me if anything goes wrong.

Today was a regular busy Saturday Night, most of the customers now are coming in from some concert down the street.

London I think was the name of the band.

"You got the guy on table six, honey. He's a regular," Dottie said. "I need to rest."

I nodded, straightening my back out a bit and walked over to see him reading through the newspaper, holding a crumpled napkin in his hands.

"Hey, are you ready to order?" I asked him kindly.

He looked up and I was surprised when I saw blood under his nose.

"Whoa, are you alright?" I asked him.

He only sighed with a shrug but a small smile. "I'm alright, doll. Just had a bit of a disagreement with my now former band."

I nodded. "I can get a first aid kit if you want."

"Thanks... Mallory," he said, reading my name tag. "I'll be alright, though."

I nodded, getting my pen ready. "Anything I can get you to eat?"

"Just a coke and the pankcakes here," he smiled, pointing at the pankcake platter from the breakfast menu.

I smiled and nodded, writing it down before I went to get his food for him.

I took some more orders before his food was ready and served it to him.

"Here. Let me know if you need anything else, alright?" I said.

"Appreciate it," he smiled as I walked over, taking another table's order of drinks before heading over to prepare them.

"So what's his story?" Dottie asked curiously, motioning over to the guy with the nosebleed.

"Disagreement with his now former band," I said. "Offered a first aid kit, but just asked for breakfast."

"Looks like he has a friend," she said.

I looked over and sure enough a young, scrawny tall long haired guy walked up and started to talk with him.

"I'll go get more of the scoop," I chuckled, making her laugh as I walked over.

Once I did, the scrawny guy sat down on the booth across the guy I helped.

"Anything else I can get you boys?" I asked.

"Could you get me a Jack and Coke?" he asked.

My eyes widen in surprise as I smirked. "Quite the upgrade from breakfast."

"I'm a growing boy, what can I say," he smirked back, making my eyes roll before turning to his friend.

"And for you?" I asked.

"Blueberry pancakes, please," he said excitedly.

I smiled and nodded. "Coming right up."

As I walked away I heard them talking about a new band or something, but I had to get going with the orders.

The scrawny guy for some reason was twirling drumsticks in his hands.

I served some orders that were ready while Dottie got the order of Jack and Coke ready.

I look over and see them still talking, the guy who was already here seeming determined as he read through the paper.

He's actually kinda cute...

I'm done with his order and walk over, serving it to him.

"Here you go, a Jack and Coke," I said.

"Thank you, Mallory," he smiled as I served it to him.

"Pancakes should be out soon," I told his friend.

"Thanks!" He said happily as the guy then unscrewed the small bottle and then took it all in one go.

"Woah.." his friend said, amazed as I realized he had drumsticks in his hands and was twirling them around.

Aw. He's like a little kid.

I went to turn around when suddenly...

"MALLORY!!!" A voice shouted from the back.

I groaned and took a deep breath.

"Who the hell was that?" his friend asked.

"My shit boss," I groaned.

Dale soon charged in and confronted me.

"What's the deal with your tips lately!?" he snapped.

"My tips have been fine unless you're snatching from my jar," I snapped. "And besides, in case you haven't noticed, Dale, we've been having pretty slow days ever since you took out majority of the booze. This is a BAR and grill, who the hell can this be a bar without booze?!"

"By you keeping your trap shut like you should and knowing your god damn place here!" he snapped, pointing at my nametag. "I can get all these five star reviews without a bitch like you telling me what to do."

Misogynistic prick...

I scoffed and went to attend another table when he shouted again.

"Now get to work, bitch!" he shouted.

*SMACK*

His hand slapped over my ass and I hiss in pain as I jumped back, watching as he snickered.

"HEY!" A voice suddenly shouted and I turn to see the guy get up, making Dale turn around.

"Here's a five star review for ya," he said, then pulled his fist back and socked Dale square in the face.

My hands slammed over my mouth as I saw Dale fall to the ground, screaming as he held his bloody nose.

"Keep your sleezy hands off her," he snarled as his friend was flipping him off.

I couldn't help but smile as he smirked and walked over.

"You don't exactly have to put up with his shit anymore, you know," he said. "You can stick with us if you want."

I raised an eyebrow. "Am I gonna regret this?"

He shrugged. "That's up to you, princess. Are you in?" he asked, holding his hand out to me.

I thought about it, knowing he was right.

"Dottie, toss me my things," I said as I pulled my nametag off. "I'm ditching this popsicle stand."

I then throw the name tag at Dale before she handed me my leather jacket and my bag.

"Good luck, hun," she smiled as I pulled on my jacket.

I smiled back. "Thanks for everything, Dottie," I said, then take his hand, stepping on Dale as we headed to the door.

Just before following the guys, I had an idea quickly stopped and went to the counter and reached over, grabbing my own tip jar (employees had their own jars for tips each), dumping a few singles from mine into Dottie's jar, the grabbing Dale's jar and splitting it amongst the other jars until it was empty before following the guys out again.

"I'm Nikki by the way, this is my drummer, Tommy," he motioned.

The guy, Tommy seemed surprised. "Wait, seriously?!" he asked excitedly.

"Pleasure to meet you both. So, what's this band you guys are forming then?" I asked curiously.
