Gianna pushes the door open and lets out a groan at the bright sunlight. She lets the door shut behind her as she shoves her hands in her jacket pockets.

"Gianna!"

The girl turns as her aunt walks over to her, "Hey, Aunt Jen."

"Hi." The woman smiles before pulling her niece into a hug. Gianna lets out a sigh as she wraps her arms around her. Jennifer pulls away and cups Gianna's face, "How are you?"

"As okay as I can be for being in juvy for 3 months." Gianna shrugs

Jennifer nods, "Yeah, well, let's get you home, yeah? I'm sure you miss your bed."

"Yeah." Gianna chuckles. Jennifer smiles softly before placing her hand on Gianna's shoulder and leading her toward the car.

"I'll see you later, Aunt Jen." Gianna says shutting the car door behind her

"Have a good day, honey." Jennifer calls out. Gianna turns to her giving a small smile before turning back toward the school.

She frowns at the line leading out of the school. The line moves fairly quickly and as she makes it closer to the door, she realizes they were checking their bags.

She could only assume it was because of the school fight that happened a few weeks ago. She remembers hearing about it on the news whenever she had her free time in juvy and from her aunt when she would visit and give her updates on what was going on in town.

She places her bag on the table and lets the security guard grab it and search through it. As he looks through it, Gianna takes the time to look around at the high school. Not much had changed since she last been there besides the obvious boost in security.

"Alright, you're good to go." He says

Gianna nods as she takes her bag from the table and walks into the school. Gianna knew she had to go to the office first to get her schedule and any other updates since she missed the first few weeks.

So, that's what she did. She made her way to the office, got her schedule, and got the news that she would just have to make up any work that she had in her classes. Gianna was thankful that the trouble she got in to outside of school didn't have much effect on her school year.

As she walks out of the office, Gianna looks over her schedule. She recognized some of the teachers names from hearing them the previous year. Gianna stumbled back as she bumped into someone.

"Oh, sorry-" She starts. Her words die out as she looks up.

"Gianna."

"Jasmine."

"Hi." The girl smiles before pulling her into a hug. Gianna blinks rapidly as Jasmine squeezes her, but doesn't return the hug. Jasmine pulls away, "How are you? I didn't know you were out already."

"I'm fine." Gianna mumbles

Jasmine notices Gianna's lack of enthusiasm. While Gianna had never been an extremely happy person, Jasmine knew something was off.

"Listen, I'm so sorry I didn't come and see you. I've just been so busy and I joined Miyagi-Do. Especially after the fight-"

"What the hell is Miyagi-Do?" Gianna frowns

"It's- it's a karate dojo that I joined."

Gianna chuckles humorlessly, "You didn't come see me because of karate?"

"I know how it sounds, but-" Jasmine stammers

"You were supposed to be my best friend."

"I am."

"You were." Gianna spits, "Best friends don't go months without seeing each other when one of them is locked up."

"You're the one that got caught up. That's not my fault." Jasmine says. Gianna's mouth shuts slowly as Jasmine's eyes widen, "Gianna-"

"No, you're right." Gianna nods, "It's fine. You won't have to worry about me anymore."

Jasmine's face saddens as Gianna walks off down the hall. She watches Gianna turn the corner before letting out a sigh and heading off to her class.

Gianna looks up as a knock is heard at her door. Jennifer walks in with a small smile, "Hey."

"Hey." Gianna says looking back down at her computer

Jennifer takes a seat on her bed, "How was school?"

"It was fine." Gianna shrugs, "Nothing special."

"No? Did you see Jasmine?"

Gianna's eyes shoot over to Jennifer. She sits up before looking down at her computer again, "Yeah, I did."

"Really?" Jennifer smiles, "Well, how is she? What'd you guys talk about?"

"Nothing. There wasn't anything to talk about."

Jennifer furrows her brows, "What do you mean? You guys haven't seen each other in months."

"Exactly and it can stay that way."

Jennifer sighs, "Gianna-"

"She didn't come see me the entire time I was in juvy. She didn't send an email, she didn't call, or even ask you to pass along a message." She says, "She couldn't care less about where I was or what I was doing."

"That's not true, Gianna. Jasmine has her own life. Yes, she should've come to see you, but you can't fault her for it."

"Yeah, whatever." Gianna mumbles

Jennifer shakes her head slightly as she stands up, "Well, I think you should at least give her a chance to explain herself. I'm off to work, but there's some leftovers in the fridge whenever you're hungry, alright?"

"Got it." Gianna says

Jennifer gives her a small smile before shutting the door. Gianna sighs as she runs her hands through her hair. Her phone buzzes beside her causing Gianna to reach for it.

Her screen lights up and Gianna can feel her heart drop as she reads the text. She clenches her jaw before jumping up and putting her shoes on. She puts her jacket on before opening her window and jumping out.

Gianna walks up to the park with her hands in her pocket. She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear as she looks around at the empty park.

"There she is."

Gianna turns slowly and a scowl quickly takes over her face, "Why are you texting me, Lucas?"

"I just wanted to see you. Heard you got out." He smirks

"What makes you think that I wanna see you?"

"You're here aren't you?"

Gianna huffs, "What do you want?"

"I wanted to see my girlfriend." He smiles as Gianna looks off, "Gigi-"

"Don't call me that." She says

Lucas raises his hands in surrender, "Alright. You've gotten a lot tougher since the last time I saw you."

"Yeah, well, that's what being in juvy because of someone else does to you."

"Oh, come on." He chuckles, "You're really pissed off at me because of that?"

"You left me, Lucas. I had no choice, but to take the fucking fall for you."

"It was three months, Gigi."

"Stop calling me that." She spits stepping closer to him, "And I'm not your girlfriend anymore."

"Since when?"

"Since you left me in that house." She says, "Stop texting me. I want nothing to do you."

Gianna walks off without another word. Lucas turns and watches her walk out of the park. Never taking a moment to look back at him.
