Having been in the wash house as nothing but your typical slave of Mrs. Scrubitt's for going on 5 years, I felt utterly trapped by my own design. I fell for her antics, seeing as she came off all sugary sweet and soft as could be. But alas, she used my trusting ways against me since I was so young, I didn't think otherwise. Not until now. Now? I think realistically. I hardly trust a soul, except for the family I've grown here. And that's about it. I never expected much would change. Until he happened. Willy Wonka.

"It seems we have a new young man joining us today for his first shift. (Y/N)? Would you be kind enough to show him the ropes? You're the same age it would seem." Abacus said with a little warm smile of knowing, knowing I wouldn't refuse it. It's like refusing my own father. I couldn't. Well, when he was still here.

"Sure. I'll get right on it." I tied an apron around my waist I always used for my daily cleaning of clothes, just as a loud thump occurred from down the chute and into the rolling bin, knowing it had to be the new guy they trapped. Abacus knew about him because a stir always occurred if someone new joined the ranks around here. Meaning, got trapped into a contracted that was miles long that none of us read, thinking a nice little stay was all they would get. But nope. That couldn't be further from reality.

"Ah! Mr. Wonka. Welcome to the wash house." The man suddenly appeared from within the hoards of clothes he'd been buried in upon impact, my eyes sticking to him like glue. He was.... not what I was expecting.

"Oh! Wow.... They have a whole world down here..." I couldn't contain the chuckle that escaped my lips from his wandering eyes, just as they settled on me. He seemed more than confused. But somehow, a hint of optimism sparked in his eyes.

"Hello Mr. Wonka. I'm (Y/N). I'll be showing you around today." I helped him out of the bin before he slightly stumbled, studying his facial features, his demeanor, his everything. He clearly noticed, judging by the curious look in his eyes.

"That sure is a beautiful name you have! How in the world did you end up here....?" We began to walk as Piper, Larry, and Lottie eyed the newcomer to get a feel for him. I on the other hand felt different than normal around him. Something about him....

"I was on my own at a very young age. I wound up here, looking for a place to stay. She seemed nice enough. That's the last time I'll ever be so naive...." We finally made it to his station he'd be at, which was right next to mine. I had become accustomed to washing clothes, having become second nature to me.

"I wouldn't call you naive. You just needed help. And someone took advantage of you. Which is wrong. You should never be taken advantage of." Our eyes connected once more and all I could ask myself was, is he playing with me? Or is he just a genuinely good guy? I didn't want to trust it.

"Unfortunately that's the way of the world." He sighed a little as I started to show him how everything works, but he didn't pay one bit of attention, annoying me further.

"Oh I don't need to know this. Because I already plan on making my fortune." I stopped working to give him a questioning looking, seeing his smile that was unnervingly bright and happy.

"And how do you plan on doing that?" I said with a little humorous tone in my question. But he was being serious, which really struck me as crazy.

"Why, selling my chocolates of course! Here? Try... it's sure to bring a smile to your face." He extended his top hat towards me with that smile still showing, one full of whimsical energy. I slowly reached my hand within, expecting nothing. But getting something none the less, revealing a beautifully shaped piece of chocolate within my grasp. In the middle, was the first letter of my name. And I nearly dropped it from the sight.

"How did you....?" But before I could finish my sentence, he softly pushed the chocolate to my lips, putting it perfectly inside my mouth with the smell of chocolate and strawberry nearly doing me in from delight. My eyes slowly closed in utter heaven, never having experienced such a thing before. And it broke my heart.

"I shouldn't have.... it's absolutely delicious! But, we don't get things like that here." His soft smile and knowing eyes told me he understood. But didn't like it at all. He wanted all that to change.

"Don't worry. You will get more. A lifetime supply in fact! I can promise you that." I nearly melted from his words, our work quickly forgotten. Who is he? And how did I get lucky enough for him to come literally tumbling into my life?
