"ALL RIGHT HONEY, ARE you ready?" Johnny went up to his daughter, both of them wearing matching red gis. Johnny just finished his speech to the rest of the students and he wanted to check on his daughter one last time, making sure she was prepared for her skills portion of the tournament.

Lexi was next to do her routine and she was ecstatic, the nerves she had earlier were now gone. "Yup, I'm ready. I got this," Lexi muttered the last part of her sentence to herself. Johnny patted Lexi's back softly before the announcers called up her name.

"And next we have Elexcia LaRusso from Eagle Fang karate showcasing her routine." Lexi got onto the mat and straightened out her gi before turning to all of the dojos, seeing how they were supporting her too.

Robby and Tory were still cheering her on, despite the glare that Terry gave them. Everyone in Miyagi-Do was cheering her on as well, mostly Eli, but she was still grateful to see that the dojos were supporting her.

Lexi performed her routine, flawlessly hitting every piece of wood that was out in front of her, a clean smooth line being broken into the splintery layer of wood. Miguel and Devon who was holding the slabs of wood, wore proud smiles on their face, seeing how successful Lexi's routine was.

A proud grin was plastered on Lexi's face as she bowed in front of the crowd then took her place back on the mat. She turned to Miyagi-Do to see Eli cheering her on the most, Lexi's cheeks heating up from his support.

"You did good, sweetheart. I'm so proud of you," Johnny applauded, embracing his daughter in an airtight hug.

"Thanks, Dad." Lexi watched the rest of the dojos and their routines, cheering on her friends, boyfriend, and brother.

Not everyone had their perfect routines though. Mishaps happened and mistakes were made, but that did not stop Lexi from losing hope that her dojo will win.

Once everyone did their skills routine, the announcer was excited to share that they would be having a special guest. Lexi was waiting with anticipation about who this person was and her mouth dropped when she found out it was no other than Carrie Underwood.

"Um, Dad, am I seeing things, or is that Carrie Underwood?" Lexi asked, eyes widening in awe as she didn't take off her sight of the singer.

"I don't know, who's Carrie Underwood? Is she famous?" Lexi stared at her father incredulously and burst out into a fit of laughter at Johnny not being caught up with modern times.

Lexi watched intently as her fellow teammates went up against the other dojos. She cheered them on and it had its ups and downs, everyone getting their hits. When it was Lexi's turn to fight, she quickly won by beating a girl from another dojo that she wasn't familiar with.

She was currently on a winning streak and Johnny couldn't be any more proud of Lexi, her making it to the quarter-finals. Everything was going smoothly, but as Devon went up against Tory, Lexi kept telling Johnny how she was out of bounds and he agreed, trying to tell the ref, but he didn't seem to listen.

With Devon out, the only chance for a girl to win in Eagle Fang was Lexi. She felt all the pressure being held on her back and her heartbeat started to become sporadic. Luckily it was break time and Lexi used the limited time to talk to her friends and family.

But Eli came first.

She saw the familiar white gi and snuck up behind Eli, wrapping her arms around his torso while leaning her face gently where his hawk tattoo would be visible. Eli turned around and his face glowed at the sight of his girlfriend.

Eli pressed a gentle kiss on Lexi's lips, chills running down his spine and the jitters instantly went away with her touch.

"You did great, princess. You know I'm always rooting for you." Lexi smiled cheekily and wrapped her hands around Eli's neck, taking in his familiar scent.

"Same for you, Eli. Remember how you took off your gi last year during the tournament? You should do that again for this year." Lexi said while Eli rolled his eyes playfully at her.

"Well that's not going to happen because it's going to be saved just for you when we're in my bedroom, princess," Eli whispered, his hawk side slowly starting to become visible.

Lexi bit her lip lightly before kissing Eli quickly on the cheek, and despite his calls for her to come back, she walked away with a smirk on her face, then took off to talk to her brother. Lexi seemed to catch the end of a conversation, seeing Robby clench his jaw as Daniel walked away from him.

But before Lexi could be in arms reach of her brother, someone stood in front of her, making the girl stumble in her place slightly. As she looked up, Lexi rolled her eyes at the man she didn't want to talk to for the entire tournament.

Kreese.

"Kreese, what do you want?" Lexi said, annoyance laced in her voice, her hands resting on her hip.

"I just want to congratulate you for making it this far. I am certainly proud of you and I'm sure your family is as well." Lexi sighed, not sure what Kreese wanted, knowing he usually wants something and it was never good, so Lexi kept her guard up.

Robby saw that his sister was talking with Kreese and knowing his intentions were usually never good, he walked beside Lexi, standing protectively next to her.

"Mr. Keene, nice of you to join in on this conversation. I need a second pair of ears for what I'm about to say." Robby and Lexi looked at each other with their eyebrows furrowed before turning back their attention on Kreese.

"Lexi, I don't know if your father told you this, but I think you know my daughter," Kreese said with a mischievous smile on his face.

"You have a daughter? Anyway, if you do, what does this have to do with me?"

"Oh," Kreese said with amusement in his voice, the smirk not going unnoticed by the siblings. "I guess Johnny boy didn't tell you then."

Lexi was starting to get annoyed at the man, her impatience and anxiousness overwhelming her. Robby instantly noticed his sister's nervous habits and put a hand on her shoulder.

"Kreese, what the hell did my dad not tell me? What are you going at?"

"Has it ever occurred to you how your mother shares similar traits like mine?" Lexi glared at the man with curiosity, not sure how her mom had anything to do with this.

"What do you mean? My momโ€”"

Then it finally hit her. Kreese wasn't talking about Amanda, no, he was talking about Annabeth. Now that Lexi was looking back at the memories, Annabeth actually did share similar traits to Kreese.

"W-What? Are you saying thatโ€”"

"Yes, Lexi, I'm your grandfather." Kreese had a look of genuine fear on his face, not sure how Lexi would react. He has always known that she was his granddaughter, but Lexi was barely finding out who her grandpa was.

Lexi was completely speechless. She turned to Robby who looked like his eyes were about to bulge out of his head. Robby seemed to be just as shocked as Lexi and it took him a while to comprehend what was happening when Lexi ran to her dad's, angrily snatching their wrists so they can have their small corner of privacy.

"Woah, honey, what's wrongโ€”"

Lexi instantly cut off Daniel and went straight to the point. "Did you know that I was related to Kreese?" Daniel's eyes widened in confusion, but Johnny had a look of guilt and fear on his face.

"What? What are you talking about? Johnny, what is sheโ€”wait, you know something!" Daniel and Lexi were now both shooting daggers at Johnny, waiting for him to give answers.

"Look, Lex, I would've told you sooner, but you were going through so much, with your break up with Hawk, I didn't want you to go off the rails again." Johnny did have a point, but Lexi was too blinded by anger to understand why Johnny delayed telling her.

"Don't. I can't believe you wouldn't tell me that I'm blood-related to Kreese. Kreese for all people, oh my god, I'm going to throw up." Lexi quickly ran away from her dad's, ignoring their calls of her name, Lexi attempted to go to the locker room for privacy.

But before she could get far, Lexi was bombarded by both her boyfriend and her brother who stood in front of her with concern on their faces. It took several seconds for Robby and Eli to notice that they were inches in proximity from one another.

"Dude, you're not needed here. You can go away," Eli said in a dangerously low and in a somewhat threatful voice. Robby simply glared at the boy and stood closer in front of him, their chests almost touching.

"Yeah, well, my sister needs her brother, not you."

"You really want to try me now, pretty boy? Lexi needs me, not you."

Lexi groaned in the annoyance of the boys and pushed them away so she can walk through them."Guys, stop your stupid toxic masculinity shit and leave me alone. I need to be alone right now."

Walking off to the locker room, Lexi faded off into the distance while Robby and Eli gave one last glare at each other before walking back to their respected dojos. Lexi was supposed to go up next for the tournament, but her mind was not in the right place right now.

With all of the distractions that were roaming in her head, Lexi was not focused and her anxiety was getting the best of her.

And with those distractions, Lexi was bound to make mistakes on the mat, and those mistakes will cost her everything.
