𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐋𝐕𝐄. | ❛ Operation Sokovia. ❜

JAMIE'S FEET LANDED ON THE SOKOVIAN GROUND, the Quinjet behind her as she moved her gaze towards the civilians. She watched the people running for their lives, their desperate cries of help echoing across the damaged city. She watched the rest of the team heading their own ways, some helping the citizens and others stopping the robots.

Jamie was left standing with Wanda, who watched her hometown with a pained expression. She brought a warm and gentle hand to her shoulder, causing her to move her head towards her. "You okay, sweetheart?" she asked, her voice turning soft.

Wanda sniffled, giving her a small smile. "Yeah. Let's kick some ass—Is that how you say?" the young woman crowed, her Sokovian accent melding with English.

The Heroine giggled with a nod. "Yes, that's right, hun. Let's kick some ass." she beamed, giving her a wink before nearing the civilians.

Ultron's army of robots started attacking the city just as everyone was evacuating. Steve, Wanda, and Jamie, neared the people, pushing them out of the way to prevent them to get hit by the robots.

Jamie could feel her swords vibrate, sensing a threat coming at their way. She left the duo, dashing towards a group of kids with their family near a bridge. She stepped in front of them, crossing her blades to her chest to deflect a wave of bolting fire.

She grunted at the pressure, creating a protective barrier as she walked forwards pulling the beam away from their direction. She panted, feeling her energy getting droopy. With her last strength, she sent the energy back to the robots, ending up killing them instantly.

The Heroine still kept her posture, and she craned her neck to the side to look at the people. "Run as fast as you can. Go. Now!" she demanded, her eyes turning dark.

They watched in awe, but their quick moment was ruined when a blast of fire bolted past them, causing them to run for their lives. They ran without looking back.

Jamie helped some people while taking down Ultron's robots. Just as she pierced her blade into the creature, the ground started to crack. She let out an audible gasp, almost falling through the hole but used the opportunity to throw the robot down the crack instead.

A desperate cry of help pulled her out of her focus, and she whirled her head to the sound, her face falling at a child stuck against the cracked ground. Jamie ran towards the child, her heavy leaden feet fastening her pace.

"Hey, it's alright. I'm gonna get you out of here." she reassured, her knees hitting the stone ground, a worried look on her face.

The boy could only sob, his tears falling down like a waterfall. He opened his eyes, squinting his eyes from all the dirt on his eyes. Jamie dug her sword to the stone, causing it to crack and she didn't hesitate to reach out to the boy, who desperately brought his hand out. She shifted her body, her hands on the stone as she started to lift it. She let out a grunt, feeling the stone moving to the side. The boy manged to pop his head out, making it easier to get out.

"I got you." she breathed, panting as she cradled the little boy, pulling him out of the ground. She felt him tighten his grip on her neck, his small trembling hands intertwined together. He let out a whimper, his lips emitting out 'mama'.

"I'm gonna bring you to your mama, kid." she comforted, pulling him closer to her chest. He hid into her neck. She held his back, looking at the damage city with a stressed look. She ducked, feeling another explosion flowing past her. And she ran, dashing through the heavy mass of people with a child in her arms.

"Mama!" The boy shouted, his finger pointed at his mother behind her. Jamie whirled her head, her body turning the opposite direction. She was met with a crying woman, her bloody hands gesturing to her son. Jamie's heart clenched, feeling her stomach churn. She ran towards the mother, holding him tight before nearing her.

The boy launched himself into his mother's arms, which she tightly clutched. She cried, hiding her face into his hair. Jamie's lips curved into a sad smile. The mother snapped her head, meeting her eyes. "T-Thank you." she thanked, giving the Heroine a teary smile.

"Alright, we're all clear here." Everyone heard Clint's voice through their earpiece.

"We are not clear! We are very not clear." Jamie's voice filling inside her ears. She looked to the side, watching the others fight the robots.

She found herself reaching to the others, standing at the ruined church as she watched Thor fighting Ultron with his hammer. Jamie's eyes turned dark, and she threw a blast of energy from her blades, sending Ultron all the way inside the church.

Ultron hissed, his posture hardening. Before she could throw another hit, Ultron speed torwards her and snatched her sword to the side and grabbed her neck, pulling her into a chokehold. Jamie gasped for air. She gagged at his hands squeezing her neck. She squirmed, grabbing her other sword but he was fast and held her up, feeling her feet in the air.

"Not so strong now, Heroine." Ultron sneered, watching her fight against him. He brought her closer to his face, tightening his grip causing her arteiries to writhe underneath her eyes from the pressure.

Out of nowhere, an electric stick shot through his side, making him lose his grip on her. Jamie fell down with a thud as she gasped, feeling her breathing slowly regaining back to normal.

"Thanks, Nat." she panted, quickly standing up, meeting the redhead. Natasha looked at her with a smile, but faltered once she saw her clutching her throat. "You okay?" she replied with a nod before the duo joined the battle.

"Cap, these people are going nowhere. If Stark finds a way to blow this rock..." Natasha shared her thoughts, looking at Steve with a worried look.

Steve shook his head, a firm look on his face. "Not 'til everyone's safe."

"Everyone up here versus everyone down there? There's no math there." The redhead argued, looking at the damaged ruins.

"I'm not this rock with one civilian on it."

Natasha shook her head, the wind gracefully blowing her hair. "I didn't say we should leave." she said, making him turn to look at her. "There's worse ways to go. Where else am I gonna get a view like this?"

"Glad you like the view, Romanoff. It's about to get better." The trio heard Fury's voice through the comms. The Helicarrier flew up. "Nice, right? I pulled her out of mothballs with a couple of old friends. She's dusty, but she'll do."

"Fury, you son of a bitch." Steve told him, a smile resting on his face.

"Oooh! You kiss your mother with that mouth?" Fury shot back with a laugh.

Jamie's lips formed into a smile, watching the Quinjet nearing the flying city. Lifeboats flew forwards, and she took a double-take, noticing her students sitting on one of the boats with grins plastered onto their faces. Her smile dropped, her mother-instincts kicking in as she left the two behind.

"What in god's name are you two doing here?" Jamie yelled through the wind, causing the two students to snap their heads towards her, their smiles widening as they waved. She scowled, furiously shaking her head as she watched them leaving the boat.

Robin and Steve ushered the civilians inside the boat, helping as much as possible. Jamie's hands left her hips with a fazed look on her face. "Shouldn't you guys memorize the laws of physics then being out here, risking your lives?" she remarked, nearing the pair.

Steve laughed with a shake of his head. "Sorry, but your assignments are boring. This is the type of fun I like." he sang, giving her a cheeky grin before pulling out his spiked bat.

Natasha turned her attention away, her eyes on the Paddington boy who had a bat held into his hands. "Jamie, why does Paddington have a bat, with spikes?" she asked, her eyebrows furrowed.

Robin inched closer to Jamie, gently grabbing her earpiece. "It's a long story," she said to the redhead. She moved her head, watching Natasha a few feet away and she waved at her with a grin.

Jamie gave them a look. Steve's smile faltered and he nudged Robin in the ribs, signaling her to speak. "I know this looks crazy, but we are experienced. We fought the Upside Down back in Hawkins, so we know what we're doing." Robin rambled, giving her a hopeful smile as she clutched onto her, but this time it looked like a dumpster with spikes.

Steve nodded his head. "Yes. We battled against the Demogorgon!" he said proudly, puffing his chest.

"The Demo–what now?" Jamie puzzled, looking at her students with a look of bewilderment, like they've grown two heads.

"Sorry, Barzinji. I take the blame. The kids wouldn't leave us alone." Nick Fury said with an irritated sigh through her earpiece, making her lips curve upwards unknowingly. "And that stuff they're saying is apparently true too! Look it up."

Jamie looked at them, their smiles making her shake her head with a sigh. "Fine." she said, making the two young adults fist bump, but stopped when they saw Jamie pointing a finger at them. "If you can't handle it, you tell me and Fury will get you out of here."

Steve cockingly puffed his chest, "Nah..we got this. Thanks." he chimed, making Robin nod her head eagerly.

"Didn't know you were babysitting." Natasha appeared from behind, giving her a funny look, which she responded with a scowl.

"Yeah, well, that has become my other job." she said, making her chuckle. The pair watched the two, using their made up weapons. They had to share a laugh, watching Robin's best friend successfully hitting one of the robots with his spiked bat.

"They're special kids." Jamie commented, her lips forming into an impressive look as she watched them gracefully fighting the robots.

"You sure they're not just regular people?"
