𝐕𝐀𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐎 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐇 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐒, only to find someone else had taken her seat.

"that's my seat." she said as she approached the unfamiliar looking girl

"oh sorry, i had no idea."

"it's fine." vanessa reassured her as she sat on the seat beside her

"my name's elena."

"nice to meet you elena, i'm vanessa."

"i love that name, you're so pretty, by the way."

"thank you, so are you."

vanessa couldn't help but stare at all of elena's features, from her hair to her lips, everything was just so clean and perfect.

she watched as the girl solved the question on the board swiftly and calmly.

"miss keating?"

"sir?"she said as she was snapped out of her daydreams.

"i asked you what the value of x would be?"

"um, i,i don't-" she looked at the question on the board, confused, as she tried to come up with an answer

"it would be 5." elena quickly said as vanessa was still trying to solve the question.

"thank you elena, please learn to pay attention miss keating."

"alright sir."

the class soon ended, and vanessa made her way to her dorm to try and forget that embarrassing moment and the perfect new girl. however, as she opened her door, she was met by the very person she wished to avoid.

"omg! are you my roommate?"

this cannot be happening.

"seems so."

"i'm so happy i got someone i already know, everyone at this school is so intimidating."

"yeah."

vanessa would admit that although she had wanted a roommate when she first started at this school, she loved the fact that she had the whole room to herself but now the school had decided it was the perfect time to give her a roommate, and of all people, they chose to make her room with barbie.

"so v, let's get to know each other."

"alright, what do you want to know?"

"everything."

"we have to start somewhere. where did you use to go to school."

"in germany, i moved here for modeling."

"of course you're a model." vanessa mumbled under breath.

"huh?"

"nothing, so what do you like to do in your free time?"

"i watch football sometimes and read i guess."

"oh what team do you support?"

"bayern munich, a friend of mine plays for the team."

"no way, who?"

"jamal musiala."

"oh my God!"

"do you watch football?"

"yeah a little bit."

"what team?"

"i like arsenal but my boyfriend plays for machester city."

"ouu, who's your boyfriend?"

"his name's rico."

"rico lewis?"

"yeah, do you know him?"

"no i've only heard about him from my friends, but i've never met him."

the pair spent the rest of the day catching up, and vanessa started to open her heart to the girl as they laughed at silly stories from their childhood, vanessa realized she was laughing, she hadn't laughed in weeks, and here she was, the last time she remembered laughing this much was when she was with rico.

𝑹𝑰𝑪𝑶.rico was the first person vanessa saw when she finished her final math paper, he was stood talking to the lady at the front desk as she and her set mates poured out of the hall.

"whatare you doing here?" vanessa said the second they were close enough

"i came to pick you up." rico said bringing the girl in for a hug

"i thought you were picking me up tomorrow?" she said while in his arms.

"i couldn't wait to see you."

"you didn't text me."

"you had exams."

"you don't sound too happy to see me v?"rico said while holding onto her waist, as he released her from the hug

"no i am, i just didn't expect it." she said hugging him again.

"alright, let's go."

"i need to stop by my room."

"lead the way."

as vanessa walked through her school building, hand in hand with rico, she couldn't help but notice the stares they received from her classmates, along with the little giggles and whispers.

although she had told rico she didn't want him to come for his sake, the real reason she didn't want him around was that she had been trying to graduate in june as the valedictorian and if the committee saw her with what they would describe as a 'hooligan' she would be cast aside for that german model in her spanish class, elena.

elena was perfect, and vanessa never stopped thinking about her.she had the perfect looks, grades, boyfriend, everything was going perfectly in her life, meanwhile here vanessa was walking around her dorm with a footballer.

"here we are." vanessa said as she unlocked her room door.

"stay outside." she said putting her hands on his chest, stopping him from entering.

"why, it's not like we've never—" he began protesting.

"rico."

"alright, i'll stay out here."

however, little did vanessaknow making rico stand outside would be one of the biggest mistakes she could make.

"omg!"rico heard someone exclaim behind him

rico turned around to see a girl who looked extremely familiar, but he couldn't quite place where he had seen her before.

"hey?"he said confused as he looked at the girl, trying to see if he knew her from somewhere

"you're rico lewis?"elena asked

"uh yeah i am."

"i'm a man city fan." she lied, but not because she wanted to impress him she honestly just wanted to make friends.

"oh cool."

"what are you doing here?"

"just came to see my girlfriend, vanessa."

"oh she's my roomate."

before the two could continue the conversation vanessa came out of the room.

"oh, hi v." elena said as she walked past her and into the room

"hi lena."

"you ready?" rico asked as he put his hand out for the girl

"mhm."she said putting her hand on his.

as the couple approached rico's car, vanessa realized she had never seen this one before, indicating that it was new.

"wow."

"do you like it?"

"i love it."

"when did you buy this?"

"last week."

"and you didn't tell me?"

"i wanted it to be a surprise."

"how did you even have the money for this?" she said, still in awe, as she got into the car.

"pep gave me a raise and a bonus."

"wow, just wow."

"do you want to drive it?"

"you're willing to let me drive your new car?"

"why not?"

"you're not scared i'm going to crash it?"

"i trust you."

rico would soon live to eat his words.

"v turn right! turn right!" rico screamed at the girl as she was about to drive into a tesco.

"relax it's fine!" she said as she quickly turned right and started honking aggressively at an old lady walking on the street.

"you can't honk at old ladies!"

"she was walking too slow!"

"v slow down, please!" rico pleaded as he held onto the roof handle in fear.

"relax, rico." vanessa replied giggling at his dramatics.

"how can i relax when you're trying to kill me?"

"you know i'd never try to kill you."

"i thought so, but i'm starting to get scared."

"come on, loosen up!"

"how can i loosen up when you're trying to kill us?"

"we're here!" vanessa said as she pulled up to the home she shared with her cousin, aurora.

"wait i thought we were going to my house?" 

"i don't know the way to your house, this is the only place i know how to drive to."

rico shook his head at the girl as they approached the front door.

"rory!" vanessa called out as they entered the house

"is she even home?"

"she should be."

"rory!" 

"noni?"rico paused as he saw the older boy in a women's bath robe eating cereal

"oh hey guys." he replied like it was normal

"where's aurora?" vanessa replied

"oh she's asleep right now."

"at 1pm?"

"yeah, we went to bed late."

"ew."

"i didn't even say anything!"

"but you wanted to."

"v, can we go upstairs i'm tired from that ride."

"alright."

"leave the door open."

"shut up."

"so how did your exams go?" rico asked the girl as they had gotten to her room.

"they were okay, i'm scared of math." she said throwing herself on the bed

"you're always scared for math." he replied sitting next to where she was laying.

"yeah because it's math."

"and you always get an A*" he said as she rolled her eyes at him

"not always."

"stop being humble, you're smart as hell and you're like the most studious person i know." 

"thank you and i just hope the academic council thinks that too." 

"why wouldn't they?"

"don't worry about."

"no, talk to me v."

"it's just- how do i say this."

"come on, V."

"i'm scared, i mean i've worked so hard, and this new girl, she's so perfect."

"she's got nothing on you, V."

"you're my boyfriend, your opinion doesn't matter."

"damn."

"i didn't mean it that way."

"no it's fine."

"rico, i just meant that you don't vote for the valedictorian."

"no i get it. V."  rico said getting up

"i'm sorry, i phrased it wrong." vanessa tried to reason with him also getting up as he started walking towards her bedroom door

"it's fine, i'll just go outside since my opinion doesn't matter." 

"rico!" vanessa said but he was already halfway down the stairs

"yo what was that?" noni asked with a mouthful of cereal 

"just vanessa being vanessa." rico said as he threw himself on the couch beside the older boy

"damn, so you guys fighting, is that like normal?"

"we don't usually fight, she just says mean shit and i shut up, but i'm fucking tired."

"you should talk to her about it"

"whenever i try to talk about my feelings, she changes the subject."

"damn, that's messed up, i can ask rory to talk to her?"

"nah it's alright, i'll talk to her eventually."
