THE PLAN WAS SIMPLE. find crosshair and vana, get them out and grab omega on the way. as they came out of hyperspace, the bad batch looked upon kamino. it's dull, blue hue unsettling hunter's stomach; it wasn't at all what it used to be.

they approached the surface, and they all knew what was awaiting them at the surface. omega was asleep in the little room wrecker had made her, and it would be the last bit of peace she'd have for a while. hunter gave the little girl a solemn look, not knowing if he'd ever be able to forgive himself for what he was about to do.

as they started the landing sequence, hunter walked to the back and gently shook omega awake. he put on a brave face for her, reassuring her everything would be alright. but on the inside, his anxiety was eating at him.

they landed, and immediately after they exited the ship, blasters were trained on them. hunter rose his hands, as did the others. tarkin emerged from the sea of clones, his hands folded behind his back. the kaminoans followed closely behind him, their eyes on the lookout for omega.

"i'm surprised you decided to show yourself. have a change of heart?" tarkin asked. he was hoping they'd come back and that their chip would start working, but something seemed amiss.

"guess so," hunter replied. stepping aside to reveal the little blonde girl. omega put on her version of a brave face, which included her standing real tall and her bottom lip quivering; she didn't want to go back and live with the kaminoans. she gave hunter a look, her eyes pleading with him to not forget about her.

"well, for that, i'm glad. but i will have to arrest you for kidnapping. i hope you understand," tarkin stated as troopers came to handcuff the bad batch.

"yeah, makes perfect sense." hunter almost growled, but he was careful not to make it obvious. now, he had to find vana. he hoped they hadn't done anything to her, or so the maker help him; tarkin would regret it.

______

SHE WONDERED WHY THEY HADN'T KILLED HER YET. the rest of the jedi, she thought, were dead. she hadn't felt her father's force signature in a long time; maybe he was killed. she hoped she was wrong, but she saw how far hope had gotten her.

her face scrunched up with pain as she recalled her father. she turned her face away as if to try and turn away from the memory itself. being on kamino already had her in a vulnerable position; she didn't need to cry anymore.

the ray shield keeping her inside her cell disengaged, and vana lifted her eyes to see who walked into her cell this time. she saw that it was the recruit from earlier, and she scoffed.

"so, you've come to berate me with more questions about the jedi, about the rest of the bad batch? i've told you what i know." she crossed her arms and kept her form stiff; she refused to show any weakness.

"i want to know more about you. where's your father?" he asked, taking a seat in front of her. he was mocking her position of inferiority, and vana did not take too kindly to that.

"i don't know. he's probably dead," she held the itch to cry back, knowing that this recruit would feed off of that.

"where are the other jedi then? for example, anakin skywalker? i heard he was the best pilot the galaxy has ever seen." he watched her, his eyes trained on her like a hunter. at the mention of anakin, she twitched. she didn't want to accept anakin's fate or what she thought it was. all she knew is that she couldn't feel anakin skywalker in the force anymore.

"he's dead," her teeth were gritted together, her eyes stinging with tears; anakin was her best friend.

"surely they can't all be dead," the recruit scoffed, standing from his seat.

"i beg to differ," she countered. she tried not to be angry, tried to control the vengeful thoughts that flooded her brain, but she couldn't. the man standing in front of her was mocking her pain, bringing up old memories and old friends to get something out of her; he was torturing her.

a silence fell over them, but soon enough, the recruit got a com saying something about clone force 99 returning. he hurried out, not saying a word. vana realized they had come for her, but she wished they hadn't.
