At the mid of the night, Nandini wakes up to drink some water but sees the jug empty. She sighs and slowly moves out of the bed to get the water from outside without disturbing Manik.

Nandini moves out and gets some water. On her way coming back to her room, she spots Meera in the mid of the corridor. She slowly aproaches her and calls her out. "Meera.."

Hearing sudden voice she got scared but sighs seeing Nandini behind. "Meera, what are you doing here at this hour?"

"Bhabhi vo.. actually I was.." She stammered.

"What happened? Relax and tell me.. what happened? Why are you here? Do you need something?" Nandini asked.

"Bhabhi.. I was here because.. I want to meet Naman.." Meera said lowering her gaze.

"What? Meera you know what are you saying? You want to meet bhai sa at this time secretly? Why?" Nandini asked keeping the jug aside.

Meera hold her hands. "Bhabhi, please let me go and meet him.."

"You know Manik, right? You know na how he reacted when you were with bhai sa today.. When you were meeting bhai sa in front of him, he shouted at you.. Just think what he will do when he gets to know that you went to meet bhai secretly and that too at this hour.. He will mad at you if he got to know all this!" Nandini tried to explain her.

"I know bhabhi.. But please just last time. I will get all my answers this time and I won't ever look at him then, I promise.. But please let me go and get my  answers.. I am dying inside by thinking why he did that to me.. Please bhabhi.. Bhai sa will not going to learn about it.. I will just get my answers and leave.. Please bhabhi don't tell bhai sa.. Please.." Meera said with moist eyes with hope.

"Okay.." Nandini replied in a low voice. "But please be careful.. I am scared what he is going to do if he learns about it.."

"Thank you bhabhi.. He will not get to know anything.." Meera said with a small smile and leaves.

Nandini too leaves for her room praying everything goes well between them. She is somewhere glad to know that Meera still feels for Naman and she too thinks same as of her that Naman can't do something like this. She feels a bit relaxed that she will too get her answers now.

Nandini enters the room and shuts the door. She keeps the jug on the table after drinking water and lays down on the bed but still tensed about Meera.

Nandini then feels Manik's hands wrapping around her waist. "Where have you been?"

"You were not sleeping?" She asked surprised.

"Don't forget Nandini, a king never sleeps in a deep sleep. A King is always half waken so that if enemy tries to attack him while sleeping, he could fight back.." He said with a small smile.

Nandini smiles back at him. "I went to get some water.. Now sleep and let me sleep.."

"Now I am not feeling sleepy like you were not feeling a while back.." Manik said.

"So? I am sleepy.. Let me sleep.." She said covering her with a blanket.

Manik pulls off her blanket while she frowns. "What Manik? Let me sleep please!"

"Wow! When you want to sleep then you can but when I want to, I can't because I have to entertain you.. That's not fair Nandini!" He replies but then notices her heavy eyes. "You are really sleepy?" He asked softly to which she nods. Manik smiles at her. "Ok then sleep.. I will then go and check on Meera once.. After a long time, she's sleeping in her old room so I will just check that is she sleeping well or not?"

Manik starts going when Nandini's mind clicks her that she can't let him go to her room. He is just going to climb off the bed when Nandini pulls him by his collar and he fells on her.

"Woho! What are you doing wildcat?" Manik said lying on top of her.

"I thought to just.. you were not feeling sleepy na so I too thought to spend some time with you.." Nandini said not knowing what to say and leaning close to his face.

"My darling, I guess you are saying all this in half sleep.. Stop it and sleep before I lose my control on you.." Manik said.

"I am wide awake Monster and in my full senses.." Nandini said.

"You are forcing me this time.. Don't blame me afterwards then.." Manik said with a teasing smile and plants wet kisses on her neck while she moans his name.

Nandini then slightly pushes him away. "Stop it.." She said controlling her blush.

"You only said you want that!" Manik said.

"I will kill you Manik.. You never lose a chance to tease me. I just say a simple sentence everytime and it's you who everytime takes it as a double meaning.." She said with a frown.

Manik smiles and hugs her from behind. "Because I love to do that and I have full rights.."

Nandini smiles at him. Manik then pecks her forehead. "Just wait for a while, I will just come and check on Meera.."

"But Manik.." Before Nandini could say Manik cuts her off.

"I am coming na Nandini.. wait for few minutes.." Manik said and left from the room to Meera's followed by Nandini.

Manik knocks at her door but to get no response from her.

"Maybe she is in deep sleep Manik.. Let her sleep and don't disturb her.." Nandini said.

"Yes, you are right.. Let's go.." Manik said leaving back to his room. On their way back to the room, Manik bumps into Meera. Meera looks up to get shocked to see Manik.

"Meera?" Manik said in shock while Nandini stood shocked too. "What are you doing here?"

"Bhai sa.. actually I was..." Before she could answer Manik cuts her off.

"You went to meet Naman?" He asked in a cold voice.

"Umm.. Actually.. No.." She replied stammering.

"You started lieing with me now? I know you very well Meera! You went to meet him or not!" He asked in a strict tone with a rough voice.

"Y-Yes.." She replied being scared of his anger.

"How dare you Meera?" He shouted at her and Nandini held him to calm him down but he ignored her. "I told you not to go there! Then why the hell do you went there! Don't stay silent now! I want answer!!"

"I-I just want.. to confirm that.. did he really.. do that with me.." She said in a breaking voice.

"What confirmation do you want now? He himself accepted his crime in front of me and Nandini! You can ask her..." He said being angry. "Why don't you get a single thing in your head that it's not safe for you! You are not a kid anymore, do you get that!"

Nandini gets angry at him. "Stop it Manik! What's a big deal? He can't do anything to her being here and secondly she took my permission first before going to meet bhai sa!"

"Great! Now you also joined her in her stupid things! You know na Nandini what he had done and then too!" He said angrily.

"I know! But even she can't believe and I too that bhai sa could stoop so low!" She replied.

"Yes! How can I forget that he is your brother.. You can't just go against him!" He said rolling his eyes.

Nandini gets angry listening his words. "He's my brother but after knowing that he did that with Meera, I myself said that I am with you in whatever punishment you gave him and you are just..."

"So what? Ehsaan nhi kr rhi hai aap hum pr Nandini! If you weren't with me then too he would get punishment so just don't pin that point.. And I just can't believe after knowing everything and hearing all by him you are still saying that you can't believe! Are you both out of your mind or  what? You believe or not your brother is a jerk who just used my sister for his lust!" Manik yelled. Both of their voices were echoing in the whole palace. Everyone came out of their rooms hearing their voices.

"Don't you dare, use those words for him Manik! Whatever he is, he is still my brother and I will not hear any rubbish word against him! And you know why Meera still believes him because she loved him and trust and understanding comes along with love Manik! But you won't understand all this!" She said angrily.

"Yes, I won't understand because according to you I am a heartless monster right!" He said angrily.

"You are! That's why I gave you that name!" She snapped back.

"Manik, Nandini! Stop it!" Dev said trying to stop them.

"No bhai sa let everything to be cleared today!" Manik said glaring at her.

"Yes, let him say what all he wants, Monster Manik.." She glared back.

"You know what Nandini you are just impossible! You just never listen to me and keeps blabbering! And with whose permission did you allowed Meera to go there? Did you asked me once?" He asked.

"No! Because if I did, it would be a big no and Manik I don't understand that why are you dragging the topic like this.. She went to meet bhai sa once so that's it! Why are you creating an issue of it?" Nandini said.

"I am creating issue? It's you not me! You know what the reality is you are with me just for name sake but all your sympathy is with him. You still believes that he is innocent!" Manik said in anger.

"Yes, I do! So what? Because I know him more then you know him! And what you just said I am with you for name sake only?" Nandini asked with moist eyes but still angry while Manik just rolls his eyes. "Now answer me.. Do you think I am with you because I want your name and something? I don't know you think all this Manik!"

"I didn't mean that! I just want to say that you said that you are with me but in reality you are with Naman only! I don't know how to make you understand that everyone around you is just taking advantage of your innocence! First Iravati, then Veer, Naman and who guess the next one turns out to be your most favourite Ishaan!" Manik said trying to make her understand.

"Manik! Don't you dare say a word about him! From where did he come in between? I won't tolerate a word against my family, just remember that!" She said glaring at them in anger.

"Yes! That's correct not a word against the not so innocent family of yours who are just desperate to make my life a living hell! I saved you from all of them, protected by them and still you are taking their side Nandini?" He said.

"I am not taking anyone's side Manik.. It's just that whatever they did.. They still are my family and will be till my last breath and I can't hear a word against them.." She replied.

"I just can't believe how can someone be so stupid to just take the sides of their enemies! It's necessary to use your mind somewhere Nandini!" He said.

"And it's necessary to control your anger before you lose someone because of it.." She replied.

"I am like this only and if you have any problem with it so change yourself not me!" He said.

"Manik! How can you talk to me like that! I thought you to be such a nice person but you are just proving me wrong one by one! You are just angered by the fact that I am at bhai sa's side and not yours? You think yourself if Dev bhai sa or Manav would have been at bhai sa's place and you were at my place, would you still believe that they can do something like this?" Nandini asked.

"They can't never be at the place where your filthy brother is!" Manik said getting angry.

Before Nandini could say something, Rajeshwari interrupted. "Stop it! What are you both upto? Manik, is this a way to talk to your wife? And Nandini, you are such a calm and understanding girl and you are talking like this!"

"It's because of Nandini that all this is started!" Manik replied glaring at Nandini.

"It wouldn't become such a big issue if you haven't dragged it!" She replied glaring him back.

"And if you have..." Before Manik could speak Rajeshwari stopped them.

"Stop it you both of you!" Rajeshwari shouted at them. "Where are your etiquettes? You both are shouting and fighting at midnight in the center of the palace! What will everyone learn that this is how their king and queen are!"

"Sorry maa..." Nandini said lowering her gaze.

"Sorry maa.. But it's.." Manik said.

"Not a word more! Go back to your rooms everyone! And I'll see you both tomorrow morning!" Rajeshwari said in a strict voice looking at Manik and Nandini who are standing lowering their gaze. "Leave now.."

"I am sorry bhabhi.. because of me, you both end up fighting.." Meera said being guilty.

"No Meera, it's not your fault. At least I got to know that what actually others think of me.." Nandini said eyeing at Manik with moist eyes.

"Even I got to know that I am a heartless person who once said that I am a very kind and caring person.." Manik said looking back at Nandini with hurt.

Nandini then leaves from there. Manik glances at Meera once and then he too leaves for his room. Manik enters the room to see Nandini lying on the bed. He closes the door and lies on his side.

Both were hurt by each other's words but didn't speak a word to each other. They wanted to talk but don't know how to start and what to say. Being hurt and lost in their own thoughts both drifted to sleep without talking to each other.
