CHAPTER THREE

WERE COMING FOR YOU

   Today was the day the kids and Ms. Fairchild go to DC! They were kind of excited. "August get up we need to go like now!" Devon said as he left her room August got off her bed rolling her eyes "I don't wanna do this.." She quickly got ready and grabbed her bags they made it to the train and the mission to kill Chucky is on. It was really early probably like 3:00 a.m. Ms. Fairchild already booked a hotel there for them so nothing to worry about.

   They finally made it there and went to the hotel they didn't even bother to unpack. August threw herself on the couch falling asleep. Everyone else did too it was only a two-bedroom Ms. Fairchild didn't mind sleeping on the floor and Lexy had her bed. Devon and Jake obviously shared.

   It was now 2 p.m. and August was already up getting ready everyone else was too. August took a deep breath "Okay I really don't wanna do this it's probably gonna be so awkward" "You're gonna do fine and we're gonna be there too," Jake said. They finished and Ms. Fairchild drove them there. They waited until they saw Grant enter the coffee shop.

   About 10 minutes passed and they saw a big car and a motorcycle. That had to be him. And it was.. he walked into the coffee shop with guards following him. "There he is..." August said. Jake spoke, "Okay guys remember don't bring anything up about Chucky!" They nodded and got out of the car but Ms, Fairchild called out for them they turned around.

   "Okay listen I will be right outside if anything goes sideways! And if it goes really bad remember to meet back hotel! Here's 25 bucks. Be safe!" She said. They thanked her and walked into the coffee shop some guard almost pushed them back "Were closed" But they heard a voice "August!" It was Grant. He went up to her "How are you?? Thanks for coming!" She was gonna shake his hand but he went straight for a hug.

   She was a little surprised but hugged him back "I'm good!" Grant greeted the others. "These are my friends irl...!" Grant said as one of the guards gave them a look. They went to the table and Grant spoke "I didn't know what you guys wanted so I just got everything 'cause... I can!" They thanked him and Jake, Lexy, and Devon started drinking coffee.. eating while August did the talking.

   Grant spoke "So you guys have ever been to DC before..?" August shook her head "Nope.. first time for all of us" Jake nodded "Yep.. we all live in Hackensack." Grant took a sip of his drink "Wow.. it must be so real living in Hackensack" August nodded slowly. Grant then looked at the others "I'm assuming you guys have TikTok?"

   They nodded and Grant tried to look them up "It says you guys don't follow me?" Jake and August laughed cause they thought he was joking. "You guys need to follow me.. like now" Jake was getting annoyed so he smiled "Right now...?" Grant nodded and they took out their phones following him.

   August tried to get his attention "So have you seen Outerbanks??" Grant was still on his phone "Yeah full kook here!" August sighed "I'm a Pouge... unfortunately" He nodded "Yeah yeah lean in" he was trying to take a picture and August said "Uh no that's okay"

   Grant looked at her but she looked at the others. Lexy nodded her head softly. August looked back at Grant "From that angle obviously! Here put it like this" Grant nodded "Oh okay! That's better" August grabbed her drink and posed and he took the picture.

   He posted it still on his phone. Devon spoke "I'm gonna use the bathroom.." Jake followed "Yeah me too!" Lexy got up "Me three" August whispered, "No.. guys stay!" They already left and it was just August and Grant. She put down his phone "Hey.. my eyes are here." He looked at her and put his phone away.

   August rubbed his arm with her hand "I'm really glad we got to do this. You are an amazing person" Grant nodded "Yeah totally and hey about your friend's sister... I'm really sorry and I'll do what I can to help" August smiled at him "Thank you.. that means a lot to me and her obviously"

   It got quiet and Grant sighed "Okay.. that was a total boner killer." August looked down smiling sarcastically she knew that this guy was odd but maybe he wasn't bad after all. She looked at his wrist and saw a bracelet that looked familiar "Hey where did you get that?"

   He looked at his wrist then back to her "Oh I got it from this amazing business it's called.. Auggie's bracelets!" She gasped "Oh my gosh really? That's my shop!? I remember making an order from someone named Grant" He smiled "Wow? That's amazing you have really good bracelets by the way.. but why is it called Auggie's bracelets?"

   August spoke "Well my name is August but my friends call me Auggie" He nodded then spoke "Uh so let's talk about something else-" but August interrupted him. "I don't know I mean.. I just this feels cool.." August said. Grant nodded "Yeah I mean two hot people meeting each other so." August laughed softly and looked back at him "Well.. I'd love to do this again sometime."

   Grant smiled back at her "Have you ever been to the White House?" August was happier cause she probably got him to take her and her friends to the White House she thought to herself that was kinda easy...?

   A day has passed since what happened with Grant and for some reason, August couldn't get him out of her mind... But anyway Jake and Devon stayed at the hotel while Ms. Fairchild and the girls went to get some groceries. They made it back home and saw Devon standing there and Jake struggling to put on his shirt. They knew what they walked into. Lexy looked at August "You know we should go for a walk" Lexy nodded "Yeah I agree! Um see you guys later"

   They walked out and just started laughing. "God they're all over each other," Lexy said. August nodded and they started to walk. "Just think that will probably be you and Grant." August looked confused "What?" Lexy smiled "Auggie... I see the way you two were looking at each other! Come on" August rolled her eyes "Oh please that was only to get his attention! And that isn't part of the plan."

  "So?? You guys would lowkey be cute" Lexy said. August pushed her softly "We just met.. and we still have to see if he invites us!" "They will don't worry" Lexy said. After some time they made it back to the house and they started talking about their work.. like how they did on the test.

   "Guys it's really not that hard.. just give it I'll write the answers" Devon spoke "But Ms. Fairchild said for you not to help us" August sighed "Okay you guys write and I'll tell you the answers" Lexy rolled her eyes "Can we not worry about this right now?? We need to focus on Chucky!" August tried to calm her down "Chill we're gonna get an invite!" Lexy was mad "And then what?? Once we get into the Halloween gala how are we supposed to find Chucky? How do we get him alone?"

   Devon nodded "She's right.. let's make a plan" August got up "I don't know if this is the time but for the Halloween gala I have some amazing costume ideas!" Jake sighed "Okay what's your idea?" She explained how they obviously couldn't have weapons but there's a way.

   First things first they have to make their own costumes and they should match with Chucky. "Okay Lexy I'll make us a dress Jake and Devon got you guys under control these are gonna look so fucking good on us!" August said. They planned everything Devon then said "Okay look we will find Chucky but August your gonna have to distract Grant"

   She nodded "Easy.." she said they discussed more things how their costumes would look on them they were so ready. But things took a turn Ms. Fairchild hadn't been back yet they started to panic August felt tears cause she couldn't lose her too. "I'm texting Grant to see if she's there" August said.

   About a minute later she nodded "Okay.. we're going she got us invited!" Just then Jake got a FaceTime from Ms. Fairchild but when they picked it up.. it wasn't her. If Chucky answered they knew it wasn't gonna be good. August shook her head "No..."

   Jake spoke "Where's Ms. Fairchild?" Chucky laughed "She's in hell with your fucking parents Jake" So she was dead August couldn't take this anymore she felt like quitting. "We're coming for you Chucky..." Lexy said. Chucky spoke "No.. I'm waiting for you Lexy. I'm waiting for pins and needles for all of you. This is gonna be our bloodiest Halloween yet."

   He laughed and hung up.. the core four wasn't ready for what was gonna happen next.
