He paid no heed to the curious and somewhat disapproving glances from his colleagues as they walked past, their eyes darting between him and the trailer. The construction site around them hummed with activity, but Aaron's focus was singular.

"I'm comin'! I'm comin'!" Aaron heard his boss, Stephen, yell from inside the work trailer. The words were muffled at first, growing clearer as heavy footsteps approached the door. There was a moment of fumbling with the latch before the door swung open abruptly, revealing Stephen's irritated face. "What the hell are you doing pounding on my door like there's a fire?" Stephen demanded, his voice a mix of annoyance and concern.

"I need to get off early," Aaron stated bluntly, not wasting time with pleasantries or explanations. His tone was urgent, matching the intensity of his earlier knocking.

"Why?" Stephen questioned, his thick eyebrows furrowing deeply as he studied Aaron's face. The furrows in his forehead deepened, a clear sign of his growing concern and curiosity.

"I have to go home and get the spare room ready for my goddaughter," Aaron explained, his words tumbling out in a rush. This unexpected revelation made Stephen's eyes widen noticeably, the irritation on his face giving way to surprise.

"Della's coming into town?" Stephen questioned, his voice softening with recognition. A fond smile began to tug at the corners of his mouth as memories flooded back. "I haven't seen that little girl since she was what? Two?" The smile broadened as Stephen recalled the times Aaron would bring Della onto the job sites. He could almost see the little girl running around in the open fields, her laughter echoing across the construction area as she "helped" sort the tools, her tiny hands barely able to lift the smaller ones.

"Look, I would love to stand here and talk about missing her," Aaron spoke hurriedly, his words almost tripping over each other in his haste. His eyes darted to his watch, then back to Stephen's face. "But, I really gotta go. She's getting in tonight."

Stephen's expression shifted from nostalgic to stern. "You're making this time up later," he said firmly, pointing a finger at his employee. Despite the seriousness of his tone, there was an undercurrent of understanding in his voice. Aaron nodded quickly, accepting the condition without hesitation. Stephen's face softened again as he added, "Now go. And make sure to tell Della I said hi. Maybe bring her by the site if you get a chance - it'd be nice to see how she's grown."

"Will do," Aaron nodded gratefully, relief evident in his voice. Without wasting another moment, he turned and quickly made his way down the trailer's metal stairs. His feet barely touched each step as he hurried across the dusty construction site towards the parking area. Aaron's car was parked not too far away, and within moments, he was sliding into the driver's seat, his mind already racing with all the preparations he needed to make for Della's arrival.

With their vampire speed, they raced through the thick, lush forest, their feet barely touching the ground as they moved with graceful agility. Their heightened senses were on full alert, grinning as they caught the familiar, enticing scent of deer wafting through the air. The thrill of the hunt coursed through their cold veins, igniting a primal excitement within them. "Ready for this, Alice?" Edward looked over at his sister as they ran, their golden eyes gleaming with anticipation as they followed the delicious, iron-rich smell of blood that promised to quench their thirst.

Alice nodded with a mischievous grin, her pixie-like features alight with enthusiasm as they burst into a clearing. Their keen eyes swiftly scanned the area, taking in every detail of their surroundings until they locked onto their prey - a magnificent buck that stood in the clearing, peacefully unaware of the danger as it grazed on some ripe berries from a nearby bush. The vampires' muscles tensed, ready to spring into action. As they prepared to ambush the unsuspecting buck, their razor-sharp teeth itching to sink into its flesh and savor the warm, life-giving blood, something unexpected happened. Alice's eyes suddenly clouded over, losing focus on the present moment.

"Alice?" Edward questioned, his voice laced with concern as he noticed the change in his sister's demeanor. Before he could say anything more, Alice's vision was projected into his mind, their unique abilities allowing them to share the psychic experience. Edward and Alice stood perfectly still, their statuesque forms frozen in place as they both watched the prophetic vision unfold in their minds, witnessing events yet to come.

As the vision faded and reality reasserted itself, Alice's eyes snapped to Edward's, both of their gazes wide with shock and realization. The gravity of what they had just seen weighed heavily upon them, their previous excitement for the hunt completely forgotten. The day they had been anticipating had arrived much sooner than they had expected.

The soft glow of the vanity lights illuminated her flawless features, casting a warm ambiance throughout the elegantly decorated space. With a graceful turn of her head, she caught Emmett's gaze through the ornate mirror. "How do I look?" Rosalie inquired, her voice a melodious blend of confidence and curiosity.

"Beautiful," Emmett responded, his voice filled with admiration as he rose from his perch on the edge of their plush bed. With measured steps, he crossed the room and positioned himself behind Rosalie, his towering frame reflected in the mirror alongside hers. "Like always," he added, his eyes never leaving her radiant visage. With a tender gesture, Emmett's strong hand reached around her, his fingers gently grasping her chin. He tilted her head with utmost care, leaning in to place a soft, loving kiss upon her perfectly painted lips.

"Emmett," Rosalie laughed, a musical sound that filled the room with warmth. "You're ruining my lipstick." Despite her words, there was no real reproach in her tone, only affectionate amusement.

"You'll be fine," Emmett reassured her with a playful grin, pulling back slightly. Rosalie couldn't help but smile in amusement at the sight of red lipstick smudges adorning her lover's lips, a testament to their shared moment of tenderness. "What?" Emmett asked, noticing her expression. With a gentle touch, Rosalie lifted her hand, using her slender fingers to delicately wipe away the lipstick traces. "Oh," Emmett chuckled, realizing the cause of her amusement.

"Are you coming with me today?" Rosalie inquired, her tone both hopeful and expectant. She carefully cleaned her finger before reaching up to begin the process of removing her rollers. "Would you get the ones at the back of my head?"

Emmett nodded, his large hands surprisingly gentle as he began to carefully undo a roller. "When have I ever not been by your side?" he responded, his voice warm with affection and a hint of playful challenge.

"Touchรฉ," Rosalie conceded with a soft chuckle. The loving couple spent the next few precious minutes working in tandem to undo Rosalie's elaborate hairstyle, their task punctuated by tender, stolen kisses and shared looks of adoration.

Their intimate moment was interrupted by Alice's melodic voice, which suddenly filled their sensitive ears, causing both to perk up attentively. "Where are Rosalie and Emmett?" Alice called out, her tone tinged with a hint of urgency.

"They're in their room," Esme's soothing voice answered from somewhere below. The sound of quick, light footsteps ascending the stairs soon followed, growing louder with each passing second.

"Come in, Alice," Rosalie called out, her voice carrying easily through the door as the sound of footsteps echoed in the hallway outside. Without hesitation, Alice swiftly opened the door and entered the room, her petite form practically vibrating with excitement.

"Your hair is absolutely stunning," Alice complimented sincerely, her eyes taking in Rosalie's perfectly styled golden tresses. Rosalie's lips curved into a grateful smile, appreciating her sister's kind words.

Emmett, sensing the urgency in Alice's demeanor, furrowed his brow slightly. "What's happened?" he questioned, his gaze fixed intently on Alice's face, searching for any clue as to the nature of her unexpected visit.

Alice's response was nothing short of earth-shattering for the couple. "Your mate is due to arrive in Forks tonight," she announced, her words causing both Rosalie and Emmett's eyes to widen in a mixture of shock, excitement, and anticipation.

"Is that the entirety of your vision?" Rosalie pressed, her voice betraying a hint of frustration. "No name? No age? No additional details whatsoever?" Her golden eyes searched Alice's face, desperate for any morsel of information about the person who was to complete their relationship.

For several months now, Alice had been experiencing visions of Rosalie and Emmett's new mate. However, in each of these prophetic glimpses, the woman's face remained frustratingly indistinct, as though some cosmic force was intentionally obscuring her identity from Alice's supernatural sight.

When Alice regretfully shook her head, Rosalie released a soft sigh of disappointment. "The only discernible features I can make out are her long, brown hair and her height," Alice explained, her voice tinged with apology. "I'm sorry."

"It's alright, Alice," Emmett reassured her, though his voice carried a note of wistfulness. "Just wish we had more to go off of."

"Oh! Speaking of which!" Alice's momentary frown was quickly replaced by an enthusiastic grin. "I have some news to share - both good and potentially disappointing."

"What exactly do you mean by that?" Rosalie inquired, her perfectly shaped eyebrows drawing together in a mixture of curiosity and concern.

"The less favorable news is that I'm afraid I can't let you go on your shopping excursion today," Alice began. Rosalie opened her mouth to voice her objection, but Alice swiftly continued before she could interject. "However! The exciting part is that you'll have the opportunity to see her tomorrow. My vision shows you browsing in a furniture store in town when she enters, accompanied by a man, both of them clearly in search of something specific."

"But we have no need for additional furniture-" Rosalie started to protest, only to be gently interrupted by Emmett.

"That's not important," Emmett interjected, shaking his head with a mixture of excitement and disbelief. "Rose, don't you realize? We'll be seeing her tomorrow!" Emmett's unbridled enthusiasm was palpable, eliciting a wide grin from Alice.

"So, you're telling me I've spent all this time preparing for nothing?" Rosalie questioned, a hint of exasperation coloring her tone. Emmett responded with an affectionate roll of his eyes, an amused smile playing on his lips.

"Rose, my love, we've been waiting for this moment for six long years," Emmett reminded her, his voice a mixture of gentle chiding and barely contained excitement. "And you're concerned about having dressed up without immediate purpose?"

Rosalie met his gaze, her own eyes rolling in a perfect mirror of his earlier gesture. "Yes," she affirmed, though the slight upturn of her lips betrayed her own building anticipation for the momentous day that lay ahead.
