𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑭𝑢𝑹π‘ͺ𝑬𝑭𝑰𝑬𝑳𝑫 didn't hurt to the touch; solid as a wall. It was something that Chayse found herself overwhelmingly grateful for, because as soon as Collins was fit to walk about Eijiro had led them all to the edge of the bubble and slapped at the thing without hesitation. Instead of knocking him back or electrocuting him (like... y'know, the movies) it had simply made a solid knocking noise.

On the other side of luckβ€” the forcefield wasn't see through. It was just a single hue of royal purple rippling across the sky, occasionally shimmering when a light far off bounced off it. It completely and utterly cut them off from the world they had once vowed to protect; it was an ominous symbol that Chayse knew all too well was making the others antsy.

It didn't help the way they were now cowering in a nearby cafeβ€” vacant and dark as rubble settled around them.

"No signal," Eijiro huffed. He was half tempted to chuck his phone across the lobby judging by the way his hand clenched, but instead stuffed it back into his jeans with a sigh.

"So that means this villain is cutting off our communication with the outside world in every sense of the word." Uraraka frowned. No one could see it, not with her head down the table the way it was. Chayse wished the mood wasn't so... despair-ish, but she supposed there was nothing to help it.

Just then a small mew sounded at the three's feet. The gray cat sat on the soot-ridden ground looked up to them expectantly with its head cocked and its eyes unblinking. Uraraka lifted her head at the familiar noise and smiled with welcome.

"Find anything, Grey?" Uraraka asked. She barely even blinked as the kitten suddenly shot up, morphing into another teenage girl who shrugged in response. Eijiro, on the other hand, straightened his shoulders and let his eyes shine brighter at the sight of her.

"No," Collins groaned as she sat at the table with the other three. "I went as high as I could fly and my phone still wouldn't connect. And then I couldn't find a single crevice the forcefield missedβ€” even dug a little. No luck."

"You tried and that's all that matters," the redhead presented the blonde with a toothy grin; a welcome sight in the moment.

"I don't understand this chick's quirk," Chayse grumbled. She pushed a piece of cheesecake they had found over to Grey who happily began munching at it (changing her genetic makeup used up a lot of energy after all).

"Who mine?" Grey rose an eyebrow. She didn't want to say it took an idiot not to understand her quirk, but...

"No– The lady from the store."

"Oooh."

"Now that you mention it, Chayse, she was definitely levitating that dude," Kirishima pointed out. "But now her whole thing is this shield..."

"Yeah, but it's also possible to have a quirk with more than one function."

"Like Todoroki?" Ochako hummed to which the American nodded.

"Oh," Grey started in realization. "You think she has a levitation and forcefield quirk?"

"Yeah?" Chayse responded, staring down the other foreign-born hero-in-training.

"Oh... I was just thinking there's another villain somewhere whose partnered with the levitation lady."

"I... guess that could be it."

Eijiro glanced between the two before offering a nervous chuckle. He didn't know if they were aware of how tense their exchange seemed, but he did have to remember that the two Americans were not familiar with each other (which he also found odd... they were all apart of the same class). "Whatever it is we do know of the woman. Maybe it's best to focus on her for now."

Grey swallowed the last piece of her snack and leaned back with revitalized energy. "What was her motive though? There's no banks or anything valuable in the radius ofβ€”"

"She was attacking that random guy, maybe she had a grudge against him. An ex or something?" Chayse interrupted. "Not that I think he could pull her."

"What and you could?"

"Well not after today." It was Ochako's turn to glance between them nervously, but judging by Grey's slight grin it wasn't necessary.

"I just say we try to apprehend her and go from there. We have a broad range of quirks, I think we could do it," Ochako's close friend offered finally. The three of them agreed without so much of a sliver of argument.

At least, before Ochako Uraraka jumped in her seat and pointed out a class lesson from earlier in the week. "Wait, don't you guys remember what Mr. Aizawa said? We should wait for a pro first..."

No one said anything as Kirishima and Collins exchanged looks, the two having forgot their teacher's only request when they had attacked the villain. Their eyes said the same thing: We just won't mention that part to anybody...

Uraraka continued on, answering her own question. "I guess it can't be helped though, not if no hero can get through the forcefield."

"And she did hurt someone," Grey reminded her friend gently, "or try her best to at the very least."

"Choked a guy out then collapsed a building on a dozen or two other peopleβ€” I'd say it warrants our intervention."

"I'm sure Aizawa will forgive us," Erhart closed off after Kirishima. "It's better this than letting her get to other people. Right?"

The others nodded in agreement, a steely glaze settling over their eyes.
