lately i have been thinking about and mourning over all the atla plots i lost... like i had a google doc AND a spam book chapter that had all my atla plots and i somehow lost both💔😭

anyways the one plot ive been thinking a lot about is this one where both azula and zuko had their own personal servants their age (kinda grew up w them), but when zuko gets banished ozai forces azulas servant to go eith him and forces a proposal upon the two (like a marraige proposal)

so ozais like "youve betrayed me so until u find the avatar ur banished AND u have to marry this lowly scum" (azulas like wtf my servant??? so she gets zukos servant when he gets banished)

and so u think zuko would fall in love w this servant he has to be married to now right? SIKE

the servant is a lesbian who loved ty lee, and zuko was in love w his own servant and now theyre both separated from those they loved .

obviously theres a lot more to the plot than that but yknow

azulas servant (not named bc i forgot) aka zukos "fiance" is a girl who willingly offered her life to tend to azulas every need. and by willingly i mean that azula hand picked her out when they were young and if she didnt agree then ozai would have executed her parents for treason lol

she is a nonbender, although azula insisted she become knowledgable in combat and with some weapons bc "i refuse to have someone by my side who couldnt fend off assassination attempts". growing up she leanred how to be more stoic (like mai) in order to not anger azula, though her travels w zuko has caused her to become a bit more sarcastic/hot headed bc his obliviousness is off the charts

she would be the main character (she wouldnt ever join team avatar necesarrily), and her story would follow her journey with having to be engaged to the prince if the fire nation when all she wants is to go back to the gymnast who treated her as an equal during their childhood

(i like to imagine that during their time on the boat zuko would tell her "whether we like it or not you are my fiance and so youll be treated as such" and he'd surprindingly be pretty kind to her)

and then a side character but still important is zukos old servant is Hao Lin. hao lin is the son of a fire nation colonist and an earth kingdom citizen. his parents were killed when he was just a baby, and then he was taken and raised as zukos servant (ozai says that zuko never deserved a "pure blooded" servant to look after him like azula got)

hao lin is an earthbender, but only zuko knows. zuko made him promise to keep it a secret so every one else thinks hes a nonbender. hao lin is a much shyer kid and easily startled due to fesr of being punished (its harder to grt away w things for him than it was azulas servant, though zuko never harmed him)

when zuko is banished and hao lin is placed under azula, he comes through with several new scars and burns. every day he dreams of zuko capturing the avatar and returning home so that he no longer has to suffer under the princess

(when azula first meets zuko again in the series again one of the first things she says to him is smth like "yknow hao lin seems to have his eyes on mai seems as if he doesnt even care if u come home" in order to rile him up bc she can tell zuko liked hao lin)
